Think about the values the Democratic party held just 18 months ago. Chances are, a lot of those values have vanished forever. Instead, we have a very new party, one consumed by and obsessed with coronavirus authoritarianism, no matter whom it hurts or what voters it alienates. Big Labor, Big Immigrant, and even Big Race have all become secondary to the Holy Mask and the Sacrament of Vaccination. That shift says a lot about the evolution of the Democratic Party, and how the Republican Party may have to change in response. That's the subject of this week's Culture War with Chris Bedford.
