Lonesome Valley {Woody Guthrie Version} {Clawhammer Banjo}

Lonesome Valley is a traditional folk song. Woody Guthrie changed the verses and kept the chorus the same. In the intro I talk a little about Woody then sing and play the song on the banjo, clawhammer style. Kind of a long winded outro.

Lonesome Valley - lyrics
Banjo Tuning - dADFsharpA

You gotta walk that lonesome valley,
You gotta walk it by yourself,
Nobody here can walk it for you,
You gotta walk that lonesome valley
by yourself.

Some people say, John was a Baptist,
Some folks say he was a Jew,
But your holy scripture it will tell you
That he was a preacher too.

You gotta walk that lonesome valley,
You gotta walk it by yourself,
Nobody here can walk it for you,
You gotta walk that lonesome valley
by yourself.

Daniel was a Bible hero,
Was a prophet brave and true,
In a den of hungry lions
Proved what faith can do for you.

You gotta walk that lonesome valley,
You gotta walk it by yourself,
Nobody here can walk it for you,
You gotta walk that lonesome valley
by yourself.

There is a road that leads to glory
Through a valley far away,
Nobody else can walk it for you,
They can only point the way.

You gotta walk that lonesome valley,
You gotta walk it by yourself,
Nobody here can walk it for you,
You gotta walk that lonesome valley
by yourself.
