This week we welcome Thais Harris, Clinical Director at Connected Warriors. Thais is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who has joined Connected Warriors in their goal of providing individualized care for all veterans. We discuss the Grand-Opening of their new behavioral health treatment center, in Boca Raton, FL on November 11th. This facility will become a one-stop shop for Southern Florida veterans; offering trauma conscious yoga, therapeutic services, group therapy sessions, case management services, a resource center, and even a lounge for food service and social opportunities. Connected Warriors is creating an inviting home that welcomes veterans from all walks of life, and at all different stages of care. Thais also discusses the different symptoms of mental health conditions; such as PTSD and TBI. Her focus is to break down the barriers that stop veterans from seeking care. So whether you need help with VA referrals, or you are worried about the stigma of mental health counseling, Thais and Connected Warriors aim to help you over those hurdles. So throw out that image of the stereotypical leather couch, and enjoy this week's episode.
