The night from Thursday, November 18 to Friday, November 19 will be quite a remarkable one.
Over half of the World will be able to watch the longest Lunar Eclipse since the 15 century and besides that same night, Earth is going through Leonid Meteor Shower.
Lunar Eclipse will not be total since Earth Umbra will cover “only” 98% on the Moon's face. That’s more than enough for a spectacular Red Moon and Meteor Shower should be visible mainly during the period of the maximum eclipse! (However, the prediction for the number of meteorites is about 15-16 per hour).
But what’s more important is the whole Eclipse will last for 6 hours and 2 minutes so Lunar Eclipse will be visible from the western part of Europe over both Americas till Australia and eastern Asia. The view not to be seen since Middle Ages.
Leonid Meteor Shower are debits originates from periodic comet 55P/Tempel-Tuttle. Meteor shower even it’s happening during the Full Moon this year will be visible during the Eclipse since the brightness of the Moon will drop dramatically.
So we have something to look forward to during the night from Thursday to Friday. Just find the local time for the peak of Eclipse. In Eastern Time Eclipse will peak at 4 AM
