Moray spends his time hiding in coral reefs. Most of the Moray Eels have heads and mouths filled with sharp teeth, which can injure divers when trying to harass them. Moray eels are nocturnal animals. Moray eels also have mucus like other eels. In some types of Moray, the mucus contains poison. Moray eels have thicker skin with high density, goblet cells in the epidermis allow the mucus to be produced at a higher rate than other eel species. It has a mutualistic symbiotic relationship with cleaning shrimp. The eel lets the prawns clean the food debris in its mouth so that the leftovers don't rot.
