WHO Explains Naming New Variant Omicron; Governments Enact Drastic Measures to Stop Spread

After the new Omicron variant was first reported in South Africa, governments of countries all over the world have gone into overdrive, enacting drastic measures such as border closures and third booster shots to try and stop the spread. Experts say this variant might be even more transmissible due to numerous mutations, but much more time and data is needed to ascertain anything.

Meanwhile, the naming of the new variant has also raised some eyebrows. Many believe the WHO and Xi’s good friend director-general Tedros Adhanom skipped the Greek letter “Xi” to avoid offending the CCP leader. But no matter what the variant is named, its nature will not be changed.
