Stove Top Apple Dumplings – No Bake Country Dumplings – 100 Year Old Recipe - The Hillbilly Kitchen These simple apple dumplings are the essence of home cooked goodness. They are comfort food at its finest.

Generations have gathered around a pot of apple dumplings to scoop out a heaping helping of country goodness. Every home in the southern Appalachian Mountains had an apple tree in the back yard. My Granny had a couple and so do I. When I was a growing up, we couldn’t wait for apple season. As soon as the apples were an inch around, we would all pick all we could hold in our little hands and beg Granny to make apple dumplings. She would fuss at us for wasting the apples and tell us they weren’t good for anything but a belly ache at that size.

This old-fashioned favorite is the perfect dessert for any summer or fall get-together, cook outs, camping trips, church socials, potlucks or just a weeknight dessert. Adjust it to suit your taste and dietary needs.

This is a very easy and forgiving recipe. Once you make this, be prepared to make it again because everybody loves it. The fluffy dumplings and soft apple chunks swimming in sweet smooth filling is absolutely irresistible. These apple dumplings are a family favorite and are requested often. Put God First!
