Just to let you know, you're not the Lone Ranger when it comes to working in bad weather. We had a alternator go out on this truck last night, 30 miles away from home had to have it towed in. And so I've got to change the alternator and decides to snow. So, at 16 degrees, we are going to start working on pulling this alternator out, albeit not very easy and probably take breaks.

Oh, the hydraulic ramps aren't holding it up. Hold it up. We'll just use this piece of metal stud. Where I took out a window in a pet store, pet supply. Alternator, it is right here on top. That's kind of cool. Got to find the tensioner. That's not good. We'll be dropping it on our head. Stand up. The tensioner is right here.

Or is that an idler barring tensioner is down below? Yeah, tensioner is down below. Got to have.

You want to point to the tensioner?

You taka a, you put a looks like an Allen wrench on that one? Anyway, let's disconnect the battery, get my mental stud back up. Tiny little things bolts. Umm, alright, so let’s go get those. So, I'm taking the battery connections loose.

We don't have to take both of them loose, but I probably will because I don't want to short things out when I'm taking the wires off at the back of the alternator. I just don't want those problems.

What size is the wrench?

This is an eight millimeter on his 2006 Ford three 2003.

Okay. We are probably going to take breaks as this wind is making that temperature even worse. I'm put this where it will not fall. Wow, it don't want to come off. I'm trying. That don't want to come off at all. I'm going to go get my pry bar and break my battery. Alright.

You're touching it.

I know. STOP. There we go. I got to have screwdriver I think to pop that off. One in the back. A small screwdriver on that one. This looks like a 15 or... And then it's the one back there. You can't even see it.

Yeah.

No, the air conditioning thing is right in the way. We'll have to do that with a wrench. All right. Both socket screwdrivers pull the wires loose and figure out how to get that tensioner pulley off.

I guess you got to make sure there's some antifreeze in this thing.

Oh, we done did that.

I'm going to warm my hands up.

We don't know the meaning of surrender. Of course, we don't know the meaning to a lot of different words. Tink! We don't know the meaning to a lot of words. So, if we don't know meaning of surrender is not a big deal, but we've been taking a lot of breaks, getting back in the house warming up.

We took the alternator in, the phone because it got so cold that the phone quit working that we record with the nice phone. At some point we'll get a fancier camera, but that's been a good camera. It just said, that's it. We quit. We're out. Oh, I mean, it's so cold. I saw a politician with his hands in his own pockets. So, it's cold.

What socket sized is that?

It's a 15mm.

So, there's three bolts that are 15.

Yeah.

And then we've got the bolt on top of one bolt that is a 13 and a bolt on the back of that's a ten.

Yeah.

And then you have a 15 that goes in the front for the tensioner pulley.

That's a lot of fun. Can't hardly get my hand on that, we got a cheater pipe on the ratchet.

Pretty simple work, right?

Yeah, it's not super easy. But then again, if it was easy, Wal-Mart greeters would be doing it. You have to have the tools, you have to have the patience, have to have the willingness to do it. It helps to have YouTube to look up and see if you're doing it right, while you're getting warmer.

OK. All right, you want to put those clips on over here. What clips? I can go grab that first. The clips, the two brackets, whatever in the back. There's three, actually. So, this...

(phone died)

It's working. We stayed with until we got it. It's cold but we got it.
