"Don't make Resolutions without an Action Plan. The Secret to Success is right in your hands." -J. Allen Shaw

Do you still follow the tradition of making a New Year Resolution at the beginning of a new year? How did that work out for you last year? Like most people, you probably started out great and over a short period of time stopped. Why do you think that is? I may have the answer for you.

Welcome to A few minutes with Marvin. I inspire those who aspire to make positive changes in their lives. Thank you for spending a few minutes with me. I make a resolution and commitment to posting a new video every week on Monday or Tuesday this year and every year.

If you make a New Year resolution, you make a decision at the beginning of a year to start doing something or to stop doing something.
So, is that decision for a day, week, month, or year? That's entirely up to you.
What plan are you putting in place to hold yourself accountable? Did you make a promise to a friend or family member to hold each other accountable? Do you think that will work? Have you tried it in the past?
A resolution is basically a commitment to yourself, for your life. That being the case it may be unwise to involve someone else. That can lead to co-dependency. And even worse, it can lead to disagreements, disappointments, and in some cases, the loss of a confidant.
If any of these things occur, how can you resolve it to make it right? Are you holding someone else responsible for your commitment to yourself? That doesn't seem like a good plan to me.
How about holding yourself accountable this Year? Commit to a resolution/goal by writing it down. There are many ways for you to do this that will help you keep your commitment to whatever it is you resolve to do.
In this video I discuss what a resolution is and some ways you can maintain your commitment to yourself. It takes willpower, confidence, strength, and a positive attitude.
Make a resolution to stick to your resolution. You are worthy of the commitment to yourself.
