A body of a stranded whale measuring more than fourteen meters has been found in Estepona.

On the beach of la Rada, where it is located, the enormous fin whale specimen has sparked a lot of excitement.

The arrival of a whale carcass this Thursday in Estepona is causing a lot of excitement. The cetacean, a huge fin whale (between fourteen meters in length), had arrived on the shore of La Rada's major beach early in the morning, when it was spotted by a neighbor wandering in the vicinity.

After the blue whale, the fin whale is the largest cetacean. This species is distinguished by a brownish gray colour over a vast portion of its body, as well as a lengthy and stylized profile. It is capable of weighing up to 70 tons.

According to José Luis Mons, director of the CREMA del Aula del Mar, her body had advanced putrefaction and could have been dead for more than 10 days, entering the Estepona bay from the Strait of Gibraltar.

In fact, the CREMA has issued a warning after the remains of three dolphins were discovered off the coast of the capital, as well as additional cases in Torremolinos, Marbella, and Nerja, to which the whale's body has been added today.

Although several storms have coincided, dragging the bodies to the shore, it is being studied to see if this is just a coincidence or if there is another reason for the deaths.
