I hope you enjoy this quick tale. And if you have a short story of your own, or wish to become a host yourself, please reach out: bnbtales@gmail.com

Couple sitting on a couch, it is a heavy rainy day, the woman says "Wow, this winter has been more wet than normal. At least it is not as cold.". The man looks at her and opens his arms in a gesture demonstrating he agrees but doesn't understand either and says "And that guest arriving this weekend is coming to work in the ski resort. Not sure there will be work anytime soon though."

Host opens the door to greet the guest, who is a blonde young boy. As he opens the door wind rushes in through the door, and it is raining heavily outside.
The guest is completely wet carrying his luggage and says "Hello. How are you? I didn't expect this weather at all."
Host replies "Welcome. I know, right. It should be colder and drier by now."
They both walk inside.

The host couple in the living room, sitting on the floor playing with their little girl.
The guest walks in and says "It's been almost a week and still no snow on the mountain. I came here just to work and now there is nothing I can do. Sorry, I'm just venting."
The host says "Yeah man, I feel for you. I know it's raining non stop but try to get out and do something. Do you like soccer? There is a nearby field and they are always welcoming new players. You should check it out.".
The guest responds "Yes, I love it. Great idea. Thank you so much."

The Host couple are having lunch by the table as the guest walks in carrying a soccer ball and says "I love soccer, but that is all I have been doing for 2 weeks. I need snow to start falling so I can work. I don't know what else to do.".
Host scratches his head and responds "I mean." (1 sec pause) "The weather these days is really unpredictable. I feel sorry for you though."
The guest puts his hand on his face and looks down in a sign of despair, then looks up again and says "By the way, my birthday is coming in a few days and my family wants to send me a package. I hope it is ok with you.".
Guest gives a thumbs up and says "Sure thing. No problem at all."

Host (man) is watching TV as the guest runs fast into the living room with a super happy attitude, smiling and saying "I got it! I got it! They finally called me in. It appears there is snow on the top and they are also using machines to make more. Uhuuuu!".
Host raises his arms in celebration and smiles saying "Yes! Finally! Good for you man! I could not bear seeing you like that anymore. Now go to work!"

Scene of day to night transition, but the blue skies and starry night one that we used in past videos, with birds and crickets sound fx, also now with the calendar pages flying off from 30 to 32.

The host couple is cooking dinner while the little girl is running around.
The guest walks in with his head down then says "Humpf! Would you believe it if I told you this was my last day at work? The boss said they will have to close the resort due to these pandemic restrictions. And that I should go home as flights are being canceled too."
Host responds "Oh no. I'm sorry to hear that. But it's true. Things are getting worse by the day."
Guest responds "Yeah, I'm gonna change my flight, sell my car, pack and leave, as soon as I can."

Man is on a couch reading a book and drinking coffee.
Guest walks in carrying his luggage and says "Wonderful! I sold my car online and managed to book a flight for tonight. Thank you so much for your hospitality. I'm leaving now."
Host responds "I'm glad it all worked out for you in the end, even though you waited a month and could only work for 3 days. Now go home to your family."
Guest looks surprised and says "Oh yeah, I almost forgot. The package they sent me has never arrived. Oh boy! I'm really out of luck.".
Host responds "Well, if you want I can ship it back to you when we get it. You just pay for postage."
Guest responds "No, it's ok. I'm sure it will be just little gifts and a card. Thank you though.".
Host responds "No worries. Safe travels and stay safe out there. Bye bye."
Guest walks out.
A clock fades in big on the screen and ticks a few times.
A doorbell rings and the host puts his book on the table and walks out.

The host opens the door to see a postal worker/delivery man bringing a big box.
The host takes the box and walks back in.

The woman host is standing by a table as the man walks in with the box and says "He finally got his package. One hour too late. Poor boy."
They open the box and see a card, and many sweets, cookies, chocolate, etc.
The host says "Oh wow, he was out of luck indeed. But not us!"
Fades out to all white.
