Care Package Idea: St. Patrick's Day

With my daughter being at college and my son on a mission for our church, I have become much more interested in finding ways to show my love from a distance. When I first started making care packages I had no idea what I should put in them. Emmaline and I thought that others might appreciate some of the ideas in my themed care packages. These St. Patrick's Day care packages are for my 21-year-old daughter and 18-year-old son.

Since both of them are on limited budgets and have limited space, food is the primary target of my shopping. In the case of this St. Patrick's Day Care Package, I headed to the store and looked for anything green. It is kind of interesting to shop for a specific color. Sometimes I will incorporate in rainbows too. It just depends on what I find.

I keep the outside of the box pretty plain to discourage package theft. The inside flaps are what I like to decorate. This makes a nice frame around the package when they open it. This year for my daughter I used green butterfly stickers and gave them a gem sticker flight trail. (My 7 year old helped me with this.) For my son's package, we put St. Patrick's stickers on it. Both of them had a lucky saying. ("We are so lucky to have you." and "Lucky to have you in our family.")

As a parent I want them to know I love them regardless of distance. I have found the care packages are a good way to do this.

Hopefully, this post has helped inspire you on ways to show your love from afar.
