Omaha Beach Fox Green - Then and Now #shorts 7

WN60 close to Colleville-sur-Mer was a well positioned German defense position, on a high cliff.

The WN60 position was closely located to the Fox 1 Draw exit which was a small narrow steep road leading to the small village of Cabourg.

The two battalions that would land on Fox Green, would take casualties as the boats ran in and more as they crossed the 180 m of beach. The terrain at the very eastern end of Omaha gave them enough protection to allow the 125 survivors to organize and begin an assault of the bluffs.
These bluffs would actual save a lot of lives giving the soldiers a lot of cover.
