The Supervisor is an interesting pattern of Carrie Stevens as she did not create it. The Supervisor was created by Joseph S. Stickney. He was not a fly tier himself but very much liked the flies that Carrie Stevens tied and her tie the Supervisor for him. The original did not have the peacock or the jungle cock cheek, they were added later. It is still a very popular today and considered by many in Maine as a staple in anyone's fly wallet.

In researching the Supervisor I found a number of different ways the fly is tied, which are mentioned in the video. The most interesting is that some tie the green hackle shoulder only 1/3 the length of the wing and other tie it 2/3 the length of the wing. Just goes to show, there is more than one way to catch a fish! - Enjoy.
