In this video, Jorge compares the Resideo Lyric Alarm Panel and the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus System. These are both excellent wireless security systems that offer some great features and functions. The security panel you use will ultimately come down to personal preference. Both are very good options.

If you are in the market for a new security system, you might strongly consider both the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus and the Resideo Lyric Controller. Each has its own set of advantages. Whether you choose one or the other will really depend on your unique needs. Both panels are wireless all-in-one systems that support 128 zones. Both have 7-inch touchscreen displays. Both have built-in WIFI. And both have an integrated camera for taking photos and providing live look-ins.

The Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus has more of a "sleeker" and compact design than the Lyric Controller. Another advantage is that the IQ Panel 2 Plus comes with a built-in Alarm.com LTE Cellular Communicator. A cellular communicator needs to be added to the Lyric separately to use cellular. However, the user will need to have cellular monitoring service to use the IQ Panel 2 Plus for alarm monitoring. The Lyric can do IP-only monitoring through Total Connect 2.0. Cellular monitoring is more reliable than IP-only, but it is also more expensive. Additionally, the IQ Panel 2 Plus has a Z-Wave Plus controller, while the Lyric only has a standard Z-Wave controller.

Other exclusive features for the IQ Panel 2 Plus include automatic Bluetooth disarming, facial recognition, the ability to livestream ADC Cameras, and partitioning support (4 partitions). Many users also find that the menus are easier to navigate for setting up the IQ Panel 2 Plus. You can also use PowerG Sensors and one legacy sensor frequency (319.5 MHz, 345 MHz, or 433 MHz).

But the Lyric has some advantages of its own. The Lyric is compatible with Apple HomeKit, which is great for iOS users. You can access HomeKit remotely (HomeKit Hub required) to arm and disarm your system and activate HomeKit Smart Scenes. You can even control the Lyric through Siri voice commands. The Lyric is also capable of doing IP-only monitoring which is not possible on the IQ Panel 2 Plus.
