Alarm.com is an interactive service platform that is used with many alarm systems. In order to use the service, the panel will need to have an Alarm.com Communicator installed. You must then have an alarm monitoring company like Alarm Grid activate the communicator for monitoring service. You will then be required to create an Alarm.com account. This will allow you to access the service from the website or mobile app.

By accessing Alarm.com, you can do many things with your security system. Alarm.com will allow you to arm and disarm your system, check your current system status, control Z-Wave smart home automation devices, view Alarm.com Cameras, and more. The Alarm.com Mobile App is super convenient, as it lets you perform all these actions from anywhere using your smartphone.

There are many devices supported by Alarm.com. First and foremost, any system with a compatible communicator can access the platform. Some panels come with an ADC communicator already installed, while others need to have one added separately. Any sensors enrolled with said panel will be accessible from Alarm.com for checking current status. The same is true for any Z-Wave devices programmed with Alarm.com.

There are also Alarm.com Security Cameras designed for use with the Alarm.com platform. These are IP cameras that connect to the internet to access the Alarm.com Servers. You can then view the cameras from Alarm.com. Please note that this requires an alarm monitoring plan that includes video surveillance. For Alarm Grid, this is a Platinum Level Plan.
