Ski Rex Media Podcast -S3E26-The Hermitage Club, w/Bill Benneyan, Exec. Director/General Manager

It’s not often that many of us get to say that we skied or snowboarded at a private ski club. The main reasons are that there isn’t one close by or we just aren’t members of any ski club that is close by. Well, I, as well as my assistant/producer, Travis, got to ski at one on February 11th, 2022. How and why? That’s what this episode is all about. This week, I have a two-part episode for you. The first part is a chat with Bill Benneyan, the Executive Director & GM of the Hermitage Club, which is right on Haystack Mountain in Wilmington, VT. We talk about the history of Haystack, the present & future, what it takes to become a member, what they offer, and a bunch of other things. It’s a pretty neat interview with someone who knows a bit about the industry.

Then, stick around after Bill’s interview. Of course, it will be just me doing a similar closing as the one I always do after interviews and as the episode ends, but I go into a bit more than that first. I give you my take on the private ski club experience, whether or not I would join one if I could, and what it’s like to ski at Haystack now that it’s a private club versus what it was like to ski there back in the 90s when it was part of the American Skiing Company.
