According to a group of 36 UN human rights experts, Taliban leaders in Afghanistan are institutionalising large-scale and systemic gender-based discrimination and violence.
The experts said in a statement that the efforts to exclude women from social, economic and political spheres across the country is matter of grave concern. The Taliban have introduced a series of restrictive measures against women which are further pushing them toward poverty.
