Yesterday, Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland admitted during testimony before a US Senate committee the existence of biological research labs in Ukraine.
But then this afternoon, less than 24 hours later, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that reports of biolabs in Ukraine were fake news propagated by Russia.
Psaki then said that we should be ready for Russia possibly using chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine.
The Daily Mail also reported on Biden’s White House latest claims that there were no biological research labs in Ukraine after admitting to this fact yesterday
The White House is warning on Wednesday that Russia’s autocratic leader Vladimir Putin could use chemical or biological weapons in a massive escalation of his unprovoked and deadly attack on Ukraine.
Press Secretary Jen Psaki sharply criticized Moscow’s claim that the U.S. is building bioweapons labs in Ukraine as ‘preposterous propaganda.’…
…She denied that the U.S. government produces or owns any biological weapons, and said it is in full compliance with the Chemical Weapons Convention and the Biological Weapons Convention.
She pointed out Russia’s own track record of allegations of using chemical and biological weapons against its enemies, adding: ‘It’s Russia that has long maintained a biological weapons program in violation of international law.’
‘Also, Russia has a track record of accusing the West of the very violations that Russia itself is perpetrating. In December, Russia falsely accused the U.S. of deploying contractors with chemical weapons in Ukraine.’
