Typically, Chatham created yellow sapphires show orange, green and yellow pleochroic colors. We stock Chatham yellow sapphires in medium tone, but some light and dark tones may be available. Medium tone is considered top color. The medium tone yellow sapphires have a gorgeous yellow body color with slight orangish undertones. They also have nice light return. Light Chatham created yellow sapphires have more brilliance. But they are lighter in tone with greenish undertones. Dark Chatham sapphires have deep yellow body color. They have more orange and less light return.
