Trump sat for an interview with Dr. Phil, and talked a lot about the Stormy Daniels hush money trial in which Trump was found “guilty” on all 34 felony counts.
But there were several unusual tangents sprinkled into the interview, including one tangent about Oprah, key lime pie, and the funeral business

‘He’s Not In A Happy Place!’ Maggie Haberman Calls BS On Trump Revenge Spin ‘He Does Want To See
New York Times correspondent and CNN analyst Maggie Haberman called BS on ex-President Donald Trump’s effort to “temper” his language about revenge, saying he definitely still wants to take “retribution” if he wins.
Trump has made “retribution” a central theme of his reelection, and in an interview with Dr. Phil McGraw said “revenge does take time, I will say that. And sometimes revenge can be justified, Phil. I have to be honest. Sometimes it can.”
But he also mixed in messages about “success” being the revenge he seeks.

That Is Fact! CNN Laughs In Trump Guest Face When She Complains About Biden Labeling Convicted Felon
CNN anchor Abby Phillip and her panel laughed at a pro-Trump guest who complained that former President Donald Trump is being “labeled a convicted felon” by President Joe Biden on a daily basis.
The president and his campaign have been referring to Trump as a “convicted felon” with increasing frequency since the jury in the Stormy Daniels hush money trial returned guilty verdicts on all 34 felony counts.
On Thursday night’s edition of CNN NewsNight, Phillip and her panel erupted with laughter when Republican Betsy McCaughey complained “every day now, the Biden administration is labeling Trump a convicted felon” — which Phillip quickly noted is “a fact”:

Trump Attorney Says ‘Congress Act’ After Clarence Hauls in More Than $2 Million in Gifts
U.S. Supreme Court justices have collectively raked in millions of dollars in gifts over the last 20 years, with Justice Clarence Thomas being the runaway leader in the category.
A watchdog group called Fix the Court compiled a report based on media reports, the Congressional Record, and annual disclosures by the justices. It found that since 2004, justices have accepted 344 gifts valued at $3 million. Thomas himself received gifts totaling $2.4 million. If “likely” gifts are included, Thomas’ haul rises to $4 million.
The justice was thrust into the news last year after ProPublica published a bombshell report about billionaire and Republican megadonor Harlan Crow acting as a benefactor of Thomas for more than two decades, taking the justice and his wife on luxurious vacations around the globe. Thomas did not disclose the gifts.

Nancy Pelosi Says Netanyahu Should Not Have Been Invited to Address Congress: ‘This is Wrong’
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) says Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should not have been invited to address Congress.
Republican congressional leaders announced Thursday evening that Netanyahu will address Congress in a joint meeting on July 24th. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) released a statement claiming the “bipartisan, bicameral meeting symbolizes the U.S. and Israel’s enduring relationship.”
During an interview on Friday, Pelosi told CNN anchor Dana Perino that she “absolutely” would not have invited Netanyahu to the Capitol if she was still speaker. She then suggested that Netanyahu may lose his position as prime minister by July.

Laura Ingraham Rips Republicans for Asking for More Money for the ‘Woke Military’
Fox News’ Laura Ingraham expressed her outrage over congressional Republicans’ advocacy for more defense spending on Thursday night during a segment in which she excoriated America’s “woke military.”
After playing a clip of President Joe Biden pledging the United States’ continued support for Ukraine in its defensive war against Russia, Ingraham inveighed against the “war talk” and blasted “Republicans on the Hill” for providing “virtually zero pushback” to Biden’s objectives.
“In fact, and perhaps not coincidentally, key Republicans are pushing for more U.S. military spending,” continued Ingraham. “Someone we rarely hear from. Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker is spearheading a 5% push of U.S. GDP at the Pentagon. Well, that’s a big increase in U.S. military spending. And like clockwork, Mitch McConnell jumped on board today in a New York Times op-ed piece, writing that he was ‘encouraged by the plan laid out last week by my friend Roger Wicker.'”

Doocy Snarks on Biden’s Blaming Conservatives for Delaying Aid to Zelensky: ‘Politics Used at End’
Peter Doocy could not resist making a not-so-subtle dig at President Joe Biden following news that he opened his joint press event with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenksy with an apology for aid delay and blaming US conservatives.
Doocy is in France covering Biden’s trip to Europe to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day and took time to meet with the Ukrainian leader Friday. Biden opened by addressing the most recent $95 billion aid bill to support Ukraine against the invasion of the Russian military —a package that was delayed due to vigorous opposition by a small but significant number of House Republicans.
“I apologize for those weeks of not knowing what was going to pass in terms of funding and because we had trouble getting the bill that we had to pass. We had the money in it, ” Biden said to Zelennksy before assembled media. “Some of our very conservative members who were holding it up. But we got it done finally.”

‘Seinfeld’ Star Michael Richards Reveals He’s Only Recently Watched the Show for the First Time
Seinfeld star Michael Richards revealed in an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters on Thursday that he only recently watched the show for the first time in its entirety with his son.
“I never watched the shows because I could always see how they could be better, and I had to move fast each week in making each episode,” said Richards while promoting his new book Entrances and Exits on Jesse Watters Primetime:
So it wasn’t until really in the preparation of this book, in getting tuned into the episodes, the seasons, nine years of it, I watched every single episode in order of them being made, as they were aired each week, and I had greater objectivity and I remembered so much and I just sat back and just laughed with my son at this amazing show that so many people came together and made. The chemistry and the outcome was just sensational.

‘Would You Support Retribution?’ Varney Presses GOP Rep Over Trump Vowing to ‘Go After’ Rivals
Fox Business host Stuart Varney pressed Rep. Jason Smith (R-MO) over Donald Trump’s recent claim that he will “go after” his political rivals if her returns to the Oval Office.
During a Thursday morning interview on Varney & Co., the host played a clip of Trump suggesting he could use the DOJ to prosecute his rivals in a Wednesday evening sitdown with Fox News host Sean Hannity.
Last week, the former president was found guilty by a Manhattan jury of 34 counts of falsifying business records regarding hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election. Trump has claimed that his three other criminal indictments and his conviction last week are a result of “election interference” from President Joe Biden’s administration.

Trump Cites Five FN Legal Pundits to Insist His Conviction Was Bogus: ‘They Said There’s No Case’
Former President Donald Trump cited five Fox News pundits and frequent network guest Alan Dershowitz to claim he did not commit the crimes he was convicted of committing.
On Thursday, a Manhattan jury found Trump guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records to cover up hush money payments intended to prevent his extramarital affairs from becoming a campaign issue in 2016.
Republicans have baselessly insisted that President Joe Biden was behind the prosecution. Trump is also under indictment in three other jurisdictions.

Trump Absurdly Claims To Hannity He Thought ‘It Was Terrible’ When Crowds Chanted ‘Lock Her Up!’
Former President Donald Trump absurdly claimed to Sean Hannity that he “thought it was terrible” when his rally crowds would start chanting “Lock her up!” — despite copious evidence to the contrary.
Despite a recent effort to distance himself from them through lying, Trump has freely enjoyed chants of “Lock her up!” since the 2016 campaign — which his crowds were still chanting just last week. In an interview with Fox & Friends Weekend, Trump falsely claimed, “Hillary Clinton — I didn’t say lock her up, but the people said lock her up, lock her up.”
Hannity scored an exclusive interview with Trump, to which he devoted Wednesday night’s edition of Fox News Channel’s Hannity.

Toobin Lights Up Cannon Over Decision in Trump Docs Case: ‘She Is Trying to Kill This Prosecution’
Former federal prosecutor Jeffrey Toobin took U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon to task for kicking the can down the road yet again in Donald Trump’s criminal case in Florida.
The former president has been indicted in federal court for what Special Counsel Jack Smith says was his willful retention of classified material after leaving office. Prosecutors alleged Trump attempted to obstruct their retrieval by the government.
Cannon, who was appointed to her post by Trump in 2020, has made a series of rulings that have confounded legal experts, who say she is slow-walking the case to ensure that it does not begin before November’s election, when Trump is slated for a rematch with President Joe Biden. Last month, Cannon flat-out postponed the trial indefinitely.

Joy Reid Labelds Missouri a ‘Slave State’ Over Abortion Laws
MSNBC’s Joy Reid called Missouri a “slave state” over their restrictive abortion laws, claiming pregnant women are the “property” of their husbands and the state.
Reid was joined on Wednesday by Claire McCaskill, a former senator from Missouri, and Reid ripped into Missouri after McCaskill said abortion access in the state has gotten “nuts.” The segment was centered on Senate Republicans blocking a bill this week that was built to protect access to contraceptives for women.
“This didn’t have to be a show vote. All the Republicans had to do was vote yes,” McCaskill said.
