Pittsburgh anchor Jon Delano of CBS Pittsburgh KDKA was taken aback when former President Donald Trump said he would be “looking at” restrictions on contraception. Trump has been straddling a tricky line on abortion by taking credit for ending Roe v. Wade while avoiding questions about national bans using “states’ rights” as a catch-all dodge. Delano scored an exclusive interview with Trump on Tuesday, during which the former president again refused to promise he would veto a national ban.

MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell was inside the courtroom on Tuesday for Donald Trump’s hush money trial in Manhattan, but a good portion her initial report was almost completely drowned out by protesters shouting at Donald Trump Jr. and others criticizing the trial outside the courthouse. As Mitchell was running through the large entourage of Trump allies that attended his trial on Tuesday — including Sebastian Gorka and comedian Joe Piscopo — protesters could heard yelling in the background, at points a mixture of pro-Trump and anti-Trump chants. The anti-Trump chants came as Trump Jr. and others were speaking to the press. His father is charged with more than 30 felony counts for falsifying business records to conceal hush money payments to hide an affair. Trump has denied knowledge of any hush money payments and that the affair ever happened.

Republican Congresswoman Victoria Spartz (R-IN) joined Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo to discuss a variety of issues on Tuesday, including border security. The lengthy interview included many regular talking points, but went off track briefly when Spartz appeared to call for shutting down the U.S. economy. Bartiromo introduced the interview, saying, “President Biden speaking with the speaker of the House Mike Johnson and Minority Leader in the Senate Mitch McConnell about border legislation yesterday. The White House says that Biden called for Republicans to stop playing politics and act quickly to pass the Senate’s border bill, insisting that it would add thousands of Border Patrol agents, combat drug smuggling and make our country safer, according to the White House. Prior to speaking with Biden, though, Speaker Johnson wrote this on X, ‘Leader Schumer is trying to give his vulnerable members cover by bringing a vote on a bill which has already failed. Should it reach the House, the bill will be dead on arrival.’” The host then introduced Spartz, who was born in Ukraine, and asked, “Why do you think the Democrats want to revive this border bill now after it failed?”

President Biden won Pennsylvania in 2020 by over 80,000 votes. Delano scored an exclusive interview with Trump on Tuesday and wrapped up by asking if he had “concerns” about voting in 2024. When Trump spewed falsehoods and debunked claims, Delano repeatedly pressed him to explain, and noted the dozens of failed court challenges:

CNN commentator and New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman said a a dustup between Judge Juan Merchan and a witness for former President Donald Trump’s defense served to remind the jury of “mobby” behavior. On Monday, former Michael Cohen attorney Bob Costello took the stand in the Stormy Daniels hush money-election interference trial and Costello engaged in antics that included audible disruptions and other “contemptuous” behavior that caused an angry Judge Merchan to clear the courtroom. Haberman was a guest on Thursday night’s edition of CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360, during which she described the explosive scene, and said it might have given back some of the gains the defense made in cross-examining Cohen

Bill Maher joined Monday’s edition of AC360 on CNN where he slammed congressional Republicans for being more interested in “owning the libs” than in legislating. Maher told Anderson Cooper that while he doesn’t agree with some Democrats in Congress, “they’re generally still a sane party.” But Republicans, he said, have lost the plot. “Especially the congresspeople,” Maher went on. “They’re just there to do performative nonsense. They’re there to like, burnish their credentials to get a show on Fox News or something. And just also, people like Marjorie Taylor Greene, real mental midgets that– they are not interested in legislation. They don’t know how it works. They’re not really interested in improving the country.”

In her own inimitable way, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow described in detail Donald Trump’s “colorful” entourage that showed up to support him in court, including the former leader of the Hells Angels wearing a “very flamboyant suit.” The New York Times reported that Chuck Zito, the man who founded the New York chapter of the outlaw motorcycle gang, was in the gallery. “Mr. Zito has experience with the criminal justice system, having served a prison term from 1985 to 1991 on drug conspiracy charges,” the Times reported, adding that Trump “has long shown an affection for macho bikers.” “Mr. Zito was joined in the courtroom on Monday by several Trump allies who have been charged with crimes,” wrote reporters Matthew Haag and Alan Feuer.

Fox News’s mid-morning panel on Monday discussed Michael Cohen’s admission on the witness stand at Trump’s hush money trial that he stole from the Trump organization while working as Donald Trump’s longtime lawyer and personal fixer. The conversation kicked off with Dana Perino asking Marc Thiessen for his take. Perino began saying she wanted to ask “about Michael Cohen and his credibility with what the jury has heard and seen.” “And one of the things was today that on cross-examination, he was asked about taking $60,000 from the Trump Organization for work he did not do. And then you also believe he isn’t a fixer. He’s a grifter. And how do you think the jury takes that?” Perino asked.

CNN senior legal analyst Elie Honig said on Monday that Michael Cohen, the prosecution’s star witness in the criminal trial of Donald Trump in New York, committed a “more serious crime” by stealing from Trump than Trump allegedly did by falsifying business records. On Monday morning in court, Cohen, who used to represent Trump as one of his lawyers, admitted to stealing $60,000 from the Trump Organization, the former president’s flagship business. Honig knocked the prosecution for gliding over that fact during its own time with Cohen on the witness stand before comparing it unfavorably to Trump’s alleged wrongdoing.

MSNBC legal analyst David Cevallos chalked up a point for Donald Trump’s defense on Monday after ex-Trump attorney Michael Cohen admitted to stealing cash from the Trump Organization. Cohen flat-out admitted on the stand at Trump’s hush money trial that he stole from the Trump Organization, describing billing the company for a $50,000 expense, but he only paid $20,000 of the actual bill in a bag full of cash.

Fox News’ Lisa Kennedy Montgomery suggested that former President Donald Trump might be too loyal for his own good during an appearance on America’s Newsroom Monday. After Cohen acknowledged that he had stolen from the Trump Organization while working for Trump in court on Monday, Kennedy weighed in on the state of the case against the presumptive Republican presidential nominee. “Well, that’s that’s only one of the things that we know about that has come to life under this grueling cross-examination, which is continuing as we speak in that courthouse,” began Kennedy. “But, you know, I’m with Paul. I’m one of these people looking at this going, what exactly is illegal here? What is the crime? And then people go, ‘he paid a porn star’. It’s like, yeah, but what’s the crime?”

Court resumed Monday morning in the Stormy Daniels hush money-election interference trial after a week that see-sawed between damaging direct examination of Cohen and cross-examinations by Trump attorney Todd Blanche that took chunks out of Cohen and his credibility.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) slammed President Joe Biden as a “lifelong racist” after slamming the White House for not deporting undocumented immigrants. Mace joined Fox News anchor Jon Scott for an interview on Sunday where she criticized the administration over its immigration policies, including not finishing a border wall and reversing Donald Trump’s policies. The South Carolina lawmaker claimed that the lack of border security has led to an increase in crime and death of Americans. Republicans have used immigration as a talking point against the Biden campaign throughout the 2024 election cycle.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) responded to remarks made from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) who bashed him for not defending Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX). Earlier this week, Crockett and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) levied personal insults at each other after the Georgia lawmaker called out Crockett’s “fake eyelashes” in the middle of a House Oversight Committee hearing. Crockett responded by referring to Greene as a “bleached blonde, bad-built, butch body.” Following the exchange, Fetterman made a post on X comparing the hearing to the Jerry Springer show, which caused Ocasio-Cortez to respond by writing, “you likely would not have stood up for your colleague and seemed to be confused about racism and misogyny being a both sides issue. But I stand up to bullies instead of becoming one.”

The International Criminal Court (ICC) is seeking arrest warrants for top Hamas leader Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, among others, for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. In a statement issued Monday, ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan KC said: “No one can act with impunity. Nothing can justify wilfully depriving human beings, including so many women and children, of basic necessities.” In a exclusive interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, Khan detailed the charges against the individuals for which the warrant applications had been issued.
