Sailing adventures of Psycho Skipper

We anchored near the sea aquarium across from Halls Pond and Bell Island in the Exumas. We were officially in Exuma Park, conservation area. After a little snorkelling, we ventured off to Halls Pond, we went ashore to the little beach. While I ventured up the road a little, Alex found what he though was a telescope in the bushes. But it was a security camera, he stuck his eye right into it. Imagine the securities guards thought when he saw a little kid looking right into the camera. They came over to inspect with their golf carts. They were very polite and asked if they could help us in anyway, they offered us fuel for our dinghy even. They never kicked us off the island. In the Bahamas no one owns the beaches up to the highest high tide line. After a few minutes we just decided to leave. But we had a completely different experience on Bell Island, owned by the Aga Khan. They were very rude, forcefully with intimidation kicked us off. That was on a different occasion, after we had sailing virtually non-stop from the BVIs, and had not stepped for on land for 6 days. We said we would just stay below the high tide line. An uninhabited island in the Exumas, Bahamas. Only accessible by boat. If you anchor on the lee side of Shroud Cay and then dinghy through the mangrove lined river to the ocean side. You will find the waterslide, named for it's tidal currents that provide a waterslide like ride through the cut. Video taken with a dji Phantom 4, with a 4k camera, only set to 1080p. 40 foot motor yacht burn to the water line, a few explosions, great flames and fire. Most likely battery fire. Never leave your boat plugged in and leave it unattended. No one was hurt - thank fully. Grabbers bar and grill on Great Guana Cay, is located in Fishers Bay, the same bay you will find Dive Guana scuba divers, it is about a 10 minute walk down Front Street from Nippers. Alex has been a certified scuba diver since he was 11 years old, really proud father. Dive Exuma took us out to Long Island to Shark Reef for this dive. A great experience, on the same day we encountered a sea turtle, 9 foot nurse shark hiding out and a Lion fish. Great day of scuba diving. Shark Feeding Frenzy Dive in the Bahamas, Long Island, Stella Maris, A dozen 6 to 8 foot reefs and bull sharks. Feeding frenzy, chumming the waters. Psycho skipper and his kids! It scary at first, but once we were down on the bottom, it was surreal, relaxing, and calming, like meditation. We felt at one with nature. The sharks were not scary at all. Navigating the Devils Back Bone in Eleuthera Bahamas, between Spanish Wells and Harbour Island. It is recommended that a pilot be hired to transit this area, as the shoals and reefs are very plenteous and close together. A dead bate fish is tied through the gills with a thick rope, and then the shark bite on to the fish, and try to shake off a piece of meat. They are free to let go when ever they please. Psycho Skipper and his two boys Thomas and Alex, along with friend Jacob did a little dive helmut scuba walk in the Shark Tank at Atlantis in the Bahamas! Very cool way to experience being up close and personal with the sharks. You can see how beautiful these creatires are, they are curious, even in the wild not as dangerous as they are made out to be. Lazy River and Tidal Wave rides at Atlantis Bahamas! We docked our boat at the Mega Yacht Marina at Atlantis. Very good deal even at $4 a foot! You get passes to the water park, and they pick you up in golf carts and chauffeur you around the park.

A simple little snorkelling trip of the back of our Catamaran charter in the Abacos, On the Atlantic side of Fowl Cay, on some very shallow reefs. After 3 successful dives in the Abacos with Dive Guana, we borrowed the equipment and dove under our boat to change the sacrificial zincs. Choosing a Sacrificial Anode These days, anodes don’t have to be “zincs.” Sacrificial anodes are now commonly available in aluminum and magnesium in addition to zinc. Often, non-zinc anodes are actually the better choice. Here’s a quick summary, followed by a more in-depth look at this topic: Zinc works well in saltwater and has been the traditional anode metal for a long time, but it’s also the heaviest option and is more toxic for the environment. Aluminum is lightweight and works in both salt AND brackish waters. In addition, they may last up to 50% longer in saltwater. In the Bahamas, and I am sure in other places in the world, folks will dispose of various metal objects, including cars, trucks, golf carts, etc in strategic locations to create artificial reefs. As these things slowly get consumed by nature, it incourages natural growth and coral eventually forms, after many years it will be unrecognizable as artificial, and will actualy become a reef. A brand new habitat for marine life! We have seen this with the construction of lobster habitats which have exponentially increased the population of lobster. Another dive with Dive Guana, an island of the Abacos, Bahamas. Today we dive near Scotland Cay and Manowar Cay, here you will find a little scattering of rocks and small cays they call Fowl Cay. Excellent Snorkelling and Scuba Diving. Abacos is the home of the third largest great barrier reef system in the world. The Abacos Barrier reef streaches 156 miles. In this segement, we are in search of Goliath Grouper, we stumple upon some very large grouper, sting rays, ledges and caves, we found a couple of tomb stones where sadly some have lost their life in the past. On one of our Abacos Charters, we brought along a local spear fisherman, he speared some fish, grouper, and lobster for us. The lobster is caught in one of the local lobster habitats (condos).
