Top 5 Training Mistakes Every Shooter Needs to Avoid!
Welcome to our latest video on firearms training! What traps do you need to avoid in firearms training?
Mistake #1: Gear Over Skills - First up, a common pitfall: Prioritizing gear over skill development. The Gear Trap! Many shooters get caught up in the latest guns and gadgets, overlooking the importance of honing their skills.
Mistake #2: Techniques Over Principles - Next, let's talk about focusing too much on techniques rather than understanding underlying principles. Understanding the Why! Grasping the 'why' behind a technique is crucial for truly mastering your firearm.
Mistake #3: Lack of Training Structure - Moving on to our third key mistake: The absence of a structured training regimen. The Importance of a Plan! Without a well-defined training plan, it's easy to miss crucial aspects of firearms proficiency.
Mistake #4: Multitasking in Training - Now, let's dive into the fourth mistake: Trying to train too many things simultaneously. Focus Your Training! Spreading your focus too thin can lead to mastering none. It's crucial to concentrate on one skill at a time
Mistake #5: Quantity Over Consistency - Last but not least, mistake number five: Valuing quantity of training over consistency. Consistency is Key! Consistent, regular practice is far more beneficial than sporadic, high-volume training sessions.
To summarize, focus on skill development, understand the principles, have a structured plan, train one thing at a time, and prioritize consistent practice. Remember, effective firearms training is about smart choices and focused efforts.

The Mental Tactics of IPSC World Champion Eric Grauffel - The Mental Game in Practical Shooting
Grip, stance, and trigger represent the physical control mechanisms by which we control the gun. Together, with the mind exerting mental control, they help to directly control the body and execute the precision part of the speed/accuracy equation and allow us to shoot and perform consistently both, in a shooting competition or in a self-defense situation.
Proper mental conditioning and programming; along with specific skills and acclimation training, can keep you performing at much higher levels than those without. Hit probability remains the number one goal in practical shooting and in shooting in general. In order to achieve higher hit probability we have to look beyond shooting into the world of mental management.

1776 Drill - Happy 4th of July!
Happy Independence Day TPC friends! This is an old video and we apologize for the quality, but we would like to share Brian Nelson's cool idea for the 4th of July with you. He is using a .45 ACP 1911 and M1 Garand chambered in .30-06
Trigger Pull Mastery - The Principles of The Perfect Handgun Trigger Control
Control of the trigger represents the third leg in the triangle of control. Your grip and stance manage recoil energy, the effects of gravity, momentum, and muzzle rise. Your vision is involved in steering the gun, sight alignment, and sight picture.
However, your skill at controlling the trigger will affect your capacity to be accurate once you are ready to fire. If you cannot precisely isolate the action of the trigger finger and fire the shot without disturbing the gun or the sight picture unduly while under pressure; your accuracy will suffer and your performance will deteriorate.
Being able to control the trigger press is at the very heart of reactive shooting performance. It is one of the first skills to break down under pressure. That is because it is a fine motor skill that you are trying to do as fast as you can while under pressure. This produces competing drives in the brain.
No matter how you try to simplify the trigger press, the fact that you are trying to only move one finger instead of all of them creates a dilemma for you to solve. The faster you go or the more effort you use; the greater the tendency to involve the whole hand or body instead of just the trigger finger. This is where you start to punch the gun forward as you press, squeeze the whole hand, shove forward with the body, etc.
Simply put, trigger control is mental control. We control the inputs of finger placement, direction of pressure, speed, effort, and isolation with our mind. Trigger manipulation is the physical control of how we move the trigger finger.

Calling The Shot | How to Know Where is Your Hit Every Time

Call the shot - This is a visual/mental processing skill. Here you are taking a mental snapshot, like a camera taking a picture, of where the sight or gun was in relation to the target area at the moment the gun went off.
Believe it or not; this is the element that defines the Old West adage “Speed’s fine but Accuracy is final”
If you can imagine your sights in relation to the target area as the picture you are taking; and your trigger finger is the shutter on the camera; then as you press the shutter, what you saw in the “viewfinder” should be reflected with a shot in that area if you have isolated the trigger correctly.
If you want to increase your speed and hit probability you must train your brain to process this information faster and faster until you reach the point where you can operate at extremely high speed and still call your shots adequately enough to see your hits or to see a miss or poor hit and make up for it instantly without confirming the actual hit on the target visually.

Appendix Concealed Carry Draw
Draw Master Drill link: https://tacticalperformancecenter.com/tpc-challenges/tpc-draw-master/
If you pay attention to trends in concealed carry, you’ll know that appendix carry is quite popular these days. For those of you who don’t know, appendix carry is where you position your carry gun in the region of your appendix; essentially down the front of your pants. There are advantages to this carry position, but there are some disadvantages. It is a faster draw compared to traditional IWB carry. Especially when drawing with a T-shirt/closed concealment garment, AIWB is consistently faster to the first shot than regular IWB. Discomfort and the potential safety risks are, to our perception, the only real disadvantages.
This video is all about drawing your carry gun in a safe and effective manner. If you develop the proper skill beforehand, to the point where you do it automatically, you’ll be able to execute it in a high-stress situation.

SHOT Show 2023 Report: Viper by NITEHOG - Quality Thermal Device For Rifle Scopes
VIPER is the smallest, lightest, and most compact thermal device in its class, measuring only 254 grams (without battery). Its sophisticated low-profile clip-on design eliminates the need to remove your day sighting equipment since the device mounts directly in line with a standard daytime rifle scope without the need for any tools. Most importantly, you do not need to re-zero the rifle every time you change the sight, which means the point of impact always stays the same.

Grip Your Pistol Correctly - How to Center The Handgun in Your Grip
Watch the “Nutcracker Effect” video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVnArod8Adg

Griping your handgun correctly is very important if you want to shoot fast and be accurate at the same time. One of the common questions shooters ask is "Why I am hitting left" (we are addressing right-handed shooters). Just one remark, not down left, leveled hit but left from the desired area of the target. The most common error is because by relaxing the shooting hand in order to manipulate the trigger faster, many shooters relax the counter tension of the shooting hand while the control (support) hand still applies that same counter tension in the opposite direction. That will drive the gun out of the center (to the left - if you are a right-handed shooter).

Speed Up Your Pistol Draw From Concealment
When drawing from concealment, there is an additional step that must take place. The clearing of any clothing away and off of the gun so you can get a proper grip on your firearm is an important part of the process. It may be a shirt that must be lifted, a jacket, or a cover shirt that must be swept away. The ability to do that quickly and efficiently under stress is critical for the CCW owners! In most self-defense situations draw time is critical.
