True-Dual Exhaust for the 85 ShoveTail Project
Getting some work done before starting my Saturday chores. I scrapped the upswept exhaust in favor of these true-dual shovelhead pipes I got on ebay. There is always some tweaking that needs to be done to get things to fit right. And when I am mixing parts from different years and models it complicates things a little more.
Some things to understand about building a chopper...
Looks first, function second... safety and comfort are unnecessary.

S&S Performance Heads on the Shovetail
Got the 80" shovel back together and ready for first startup with new heads. Lot of oil in the sump so going to have to look at the oil pump check valve sooner or later. Otherwise a successful test and this time I have brakes!
My son just happened to come over as I was pulling the bike out so he got to take it for a ride down the driveway too.
Still undecided on the rear fender though.. have the Softail fender on there now just to test ride.
Very windy today so unfortunately you can't really hear the how awesome the engine sounds!

1991 XLH Project
This is a 1991 Harley Davidson Sportster XLH 1200 I bought as a surprise for my son Will. We worked on it to make it road worthy and to run better over a couple years. He did a little customization on it too.

Torque Cones and Shakedown Ride - FXST
More detail on the torque cones and shakedown ride. Some of these clips are in the rebuild video too. I do feel the torque cones made a difference, although not a huge change. I didn't dyno it so just gong by the butt dyno results. It did sound a lot better too but the quality of sound in the video does not reflect that.

1985 FXST - Softail Standard Initial Rebuild
I bought this FXST to house the 80 inch shovelhead engine I have. I decided to get this running and work out any mechanical issues so I could enjoy it for a summer before tearing it down again.

1960 Panhead Rebuild
From start to finish, a 16 year project to revive my late father's 1960 Panhead FL. I moved a few times during those years, taking sometimes 2 or 3 years between working on it. Since the completion of the project I have put almost 1000 miles on the Panhead with no troubles. Please rumble and subscribe to my channel if you like this content.

1985 Softail Project
Finally got my shop in order and ready to tear down the 1985 Softail FXST. My plan when I bought the bike was to use it for my 1983 80" Shovelhead engine. The softail was in bad shape and needed a lot of work to be road worthy so I spent the last 3 years making that happen little by little as time permitted.
This series will be updated as I find time between a full time job and life and hopefully will complete it by spring. Stay tuned for Part 2.
