Fair Weather Flying

This was my first landing on this private strip in N. Colorado. Unfortunately, my camera was setup incorrectly and ended up with the "vertical" shot. I uploaded the footage mainly due to the 41 mph low pass. It was a nice cool morning with slight breeze and it was really cool feeling that Cub wing do what it does best.

This farm strip is what the Super Cub is made for. It is plenty long and good practice for a new tail wheel pilot. When landing 35 there is an incline which makes rolling out the landing very comfortable. The fence and huge ditch at the beginning of the runway are part of what makes it such good practice. This video shows a lot of runway burned up to safely miss a pretty short fence.

Taking video of landings is a good way to get better. The lesson here is land earlier and slower...

This is the Platte River east of Greeley, CO. There are no landings on any of the beaches. Just smooth air and the purr of a Lycoming engine on a beautiful Colorado morning.
