How to make Diorama Trees from Sawdust or Leather Dust. Diorama Rocks bushes flowers & grass tufts
Make realistic miniature diorama trees and roots, rocks, grass, bushes, flowers, and more out of leather dust or sawdust. Great for model railroads. The techniques can be adapted to any scale model size. The kit may be purchased through my Etsy shop (link below). Choose from either leather dust, or sawdust, and from the base kit, or full kit. You'll also pick from 5 different colors of trees. Many of the techniques in this video I used to make my large diorama piece "The Narrows". I have a video showing some of the processes of that as well. Even if you don't get the materials through me feel free to tag me in posts or send pictures, I like to see what people come up with using these techniques.
Do as much or as little of the techniques shown in the video. This is a surprisingly easy project. One of my daughters made one when she was 9 that looks amazing. However, adult supervision is required.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While the time stamps can be very useful for finding steps, their will be
information on various other steps and bonus techniques throughout the
video. It would be beneficial to watch the video all the way through first,
and while your working on your diorama.

How to make a leather Donut Purse that converts into a Backpack
Leather working patterns. Make a leather Donut Purse, a Donut Backpack, or one that converts to both!
4000 YouTube subscribers, thank you so much. I'll be running a sale for a couple days on most of my items in my shop as a thank you. 40% OFF! Make sure to subscribe to my channel and hit the notifications bell if you don't want to miss out on any giveaways and promotions I do.
Four different strap sizes for kids, teens, adults, and large adults.
Three different thicknesses, wide for more room as a backpack, Standard for use as a purse and backpack (Standard also has the most realistic proportions), and small for a sleeker looking purse if you'd prefer.
You may also use Conchos, small gems, or anything else your imagination comes up with for the sprinkles.
The purse measures 12-1/8" Wide, the three thicknesses are 3-1/2", 4", or 4-1/2".
(The purse measures 30.8cm Wide, the three thicknesses are 8.9cm, 10.2cm, or 11.5cm.)
Backstory:
I had finished the Taco purse and I was watching a show with my youngest daughter. One of the characters Kimmy (You may know the show) was carrying a Donut Purse.... My daughter looked at me with some pretty big eyes. So I decided to make her a donut purse for her birthday. While I was working on it my older daughter said "Hey, that would make a cool backpack.......". "Brilliant!" I said. And I got right to it.

Taco Purse, How To Make A Leather Taco Purse
Leather crafting / leather working patterns, Taco Purse tutorial and pattern. How to make a leather taco purse.
More videos and patterns on my YouTube channel.
Use 3/4" D-rings for the tabs, and 3/4" clasps for the straps.
5oz to 6oz works well for this purse. You could go a bit thinner on the lettuce and whatnot if you'd like, but I would try to keep the shell on the thicker side.
The instructional video for the Taco purse will cover everything except
the leather handles. The process for the leather handles and shoulder strap is covered
in my hummingbird purse video.
I used a 2mm chisel for the stitching holes with white centers, a 1/16" hole punch for the solid
black stitching holes, and a 1/2" hole punch for the zipper opening on each end.

Leather Tooling 1 of 4 Tony Allen Bernier's Liquid Multiverse
Some time lapse footage of my process. I sped things up to 300% but didn't go too fast so that my technique is still noticeable. You can also adjust the speed playback in YouTube if you'd like.
This piece is the featured cover art on the Leather Crafters and Saddlers Journal July/August 2018 issue.
To find the custom modeling tools, patterns, or my instructional products they can be found in my Etsy shop.

How to make a Flat Cap for Adults and Kids 1 of 2
A tutorial I quickly put together on how to make a flat cap to help with the construction of my flat cap pattern sold in my Etsy shop. Physical and Digital. I also sell the plastic inserts, basting tape, and sweatbands. https://www.etsy.com/shop/TonyAllenBernier?ref=search_shop_redirect
I started to sew the fold in the back when I do a one size fits all, After the sweatband is in and folded to the inside I put a line of stitches about 3/8" up across the back while I stretch that section out, it helps the cap look cleaner when you have the excess material from the bunching. I only do that on the one size fits all caps that have that style in the back. I'll put a picture of this up in my Etsy listing for the pattern.
When I make the large size it usually sits somewhere in the 7-3/8 to 7-5/8 US (A) range. Which is 22-3/4" to 24-1/2" head circumference.
When I make the Medium size it's usually fits around 6-7/8 to 7-1/8 US (A) sizes. Which is a 22 1/8" to 23" head circumference.

While Celtic and Viking knotwork do have their differences, there is also a lot of similarities. I show how to tool them without digging into the style differences. I would tool both using these methods.
