As we close in on our first start, the wiring continues. It's time to put a wrap on the wiring for our Factory Five Racing Mk4 Prototype. We tackle the wiring for our seat heaters and bore some holes in the aluminum panels for our seatbelts that will be coming soon. Our Russ Thompson turn signal switch gets installed on our steering shaft. We start out trying to get our gauge sensors mounted to the engine but quickly realize we are missing some parts to make that happen. Short story ensues explaining what we think happened to a number of parts we found we are missing. Next we dive into mounting the exhaust headers using locking header bolts. We jump back on the sensors for the engine after a trip to our favorite hardware store. We move onto the surge tank hardware. Last thing we hit is the radiator and using a hinged upper mount. We prep our Factory Five Mk4 for the engine re-install. After some unexpected weather, we dive into e-brake cables getting them finished up. Then we move onto finishing up the drop trunk box. Throw in a new package tray behind the seat and then we finish off the engine install prep with a couple of ground studs welded in behind the dash. Sometimes you have to work backwards to move forward. In this case it was easier for the car owner to transport the car here from Texas with the engine and transmission in the chassis. We need them out to finish the footbox panels so the Engine has to come out. We get the cockpit floor panels in and start on the passenger footbox panels. Pauline, our 25th Anniversary Factory Five Mk4 gets all cleaned up and ready to go home. We start by getting all of the build garbage off the surface first by using compressed air. Then move on to the duster to remove the surface dust.
