Bone Orchard - Unravel (A Soldier's Lament) - 1988/2023
Ⓒ Corcoran 1988 Ⓟ Corcoran BMI 2023
Wrote this back in 1988 after I saw the movie "Platoon" for the first time. The song is from the point of view of someone who is forced to fight in someone else's bright idea of a war, one that they do not believe in nor understand the point of, whether it is American conscripts during the second half of the Vietnam war or Russian cannon-fodder being needlessly expended in Ukraine currently. Those who create such nightmares should be the ones forced to live and die in them, not the rest of us.
All instruments and vocals courtesy of M. Corcoran (the "last man standing").
Lyrics:
It seems like we’ve been here before.
Got no idea what I’m fighting for.
And all I know is that I’m scared to death.
And I pray to God this ain’t my last breath.
As I unravel and my friends fall down
As I unravel as I hit the ground.
Yeah, I unravel and my seams are showing.
As I unravel and my mind is blown
Yeah, I unravel….
Yeah, I unravel….
And my dad says that it must be done
And he’d proud to give up his son.
And my mom says, “There’s no sense to it”.
And my mom says, “Just get thru it”.
As I unravel and my friends fall down
As I unravel as I hit the ground.
Yeah, I unravel and my seams are showing.
As I unravel and my mind is blown
Yeah, I unravel….
Yeah, I unravel….
As I lay here, I taste the blood.
I don’t stand so tall lying in the mud.
And I dream of things that I’d rather be
And places that I’d rather be.
As I unravel and my friends fall down
As I unravel as I hit the ground.
Yeah, I unravel and my seams are showing.
As I unravel and my mind is blown
Yeah, I unravel….
Yeah, I unravel….
Yeah, I unravel….

Bone Orchard - Why I Drink (Endless Ifs, Ands, or Buts) - 2023
Ⓒ Ⓟ Corcoran BMI 2023
Track from upcoming album, "Clinical Mayo". All instruments and vocals courtesy of M. Corcoran (the "last man standing").
Lyrics:
Endless sobriety has never been my cup of tea
While living in a society that thrives on hypocrisy
Get me out of here, get me off this ledge,
To someplace sane, to someplace safe, just no more hiding in a hedge.
This place is crazy, yeah, this place is fucking nuts.
Where's the door? Can't bear no more
Endless ifs, ands, or buts.
Endless ifs, ands, or buts.
I've lived a life that's such a joke, always going up in smoke.
'Cause I can't help but think out loud, about yelling fire in a crowd.
Yeah, I'm trouble 'cause I won't ever fit in.
But that's okay, I spend my days just buried deep in the clearance bin.
While contemplating that maybe it's me who's nuts.
Pour me one more while I explore
Endless ifs, ands, or buts.
Endless ifs, ands, or buts.
Drag queen story hour hiding in my shower
Demanding to know my pronouns.
While crowing like a rooster, "get a vaccine and a booster
Or we'll run your ass out of town".
Now l I can't use my flask if I gotta wear a mask,
So I guess I'll just hide underground
While they kill Betsy Ross on orders from the "boss"
'Cause she's an insurrectionist..... An insurrectionist....
FLAG THIS!!!!!
Stoke my paranoia as they pour across the border,
Taking over my hometown.
Now I don't speak the language so I'm at a disadvantage
When ordering the next round.
So I gotta give more hugs and I gotta eat more bugs
To help protect the atmosphere
From endless train derailments. I use eggs to make my payments
'Cause freedom is a "dirty" word..... Such a dirty word.....
Been working on my apathy while on vacation from my sanity.
Where I hope to learn to levitate so I can rise above the hate.
And when I look down and witness everything collapse,
I'll float away to a better day and to a better place perhaps.
While contemplating that maybe it's me who's nuts.
So, I'll pour one more while I ignore
Endless ifs, ands, or buts.
Endless ifs, ands, or buts.......

Bone Orchard - Them - 1989/2023
Ⓒ Corcoran 1989 Ⓟ Corcoran BMI 2023
Early Bone Orchard composition that never saw the light of day then (probably because it was actually about the original line-up, if anybody is interested), but will be a track on the upcoming album, “Clinical Mayo”, due out late spring/summer 2023.
All instruments and vocals courtesy of M. Corcoran (the "last man standing").
Lyrics:
We were standing at the border with chance for a new order.
But you never planned to cross it, you just planned to cross your heart and your fingers,
Yeah, it figures
That now I find there is no "us", there's just "them".
Yeah, now I find there is no "us", there's just "them", there's just "them",
Me and "them".
You were standing over the toilet waiting there to catch your pipe dreams.
You'll have to pick me off the floor 'cause I won't stand for this shit no more
(no more).
'Cause now I find there is no "us", there's just "them".
Yeah, now I find there is no "us", there's just "them", there's just "them",
Me and "them".
I waited for the battle cry but found you sitting there, just waiting to die.
And all our mighty plans are buried safe beneath the sands of your indifference,
Oh well, what's the difference? Oh hell, what's the difference, what's the difference any more?
I appealed to your reason, but you answered that with treason.
And all the promises to fulfill you stood up against the wall for the kill and opened fire. ("FIRE!")
Yeah, now I find there is no "us", there's just "them".
Yeah, now I find there is no "us", there's just "them", there's just "them",
Me and "them".

Bone Orchard - Hair Helmet (A Mosh Square Dance) - 1989/2023
Ⓒ Corcoran 1989 Ⓟ Corcoran BMI 2023
Another early Bone Orchard composition that never saw the light of day then, but will be a track on the upcoming album, “Clinical Mayo”, due out late spring/summer 2023.
All instruments and vocals courtesy of M. Corcoran (the "last man standing").
Lyrics:
I've got more hair than my mother,
She mistakes me for my sister,
I use more hairspray than my girlfriend,
And no one ever calls me "Mister".
Well, I can keep the world outside
When I let my freak-flag fly.
I tease it spray it, I just can't help it.
I feel so cool in my hair helmet!
It goes with all my latest clothes.
Keeps things from flying up my nose.
My eyes, my thoughts remain unseen.
I put it on to cause a scene.
And I can keep the world outside
When I let my freak-flag fly.
I tease it spray it, I just can't help it.
I feel so cool in my hair helmet!
Well, I can keep the world outside
When I let my freak-flag fly.
I tease it spray it, I just can't help it.
I feel so cool in my hair helmet!
My boss says I'm such a mess
And I should buy myself a dress
And that my hair's gone to my head.
But I just shrug it off instead.
'Cause I can keep the world outside
When I let my freak-flag fly.
I tease it spray it, I just can't help it.
I feel so cool in my hair helmet!
Yeah, I can keep the world outside
When I let my freak-flag fly.
I tease it spray it, I just can't help it.
I feel so cool in my hair helmet!

Bone Orchard - Psychotic Attraction (Redux) - 2023
Ⓒ Corcoran 1988 Ⓟ Corcoran BMI 2023
Finally, the version (sans backwards intro) that should have appeared on the band's first record 33 yrs. ago. Background vocals and harmonies sung as if lives depended on it; no need for excessive reverb to be administered to the recording to hide all of that pick-scratching on the bass' strings, resulting in a VERY muddy mix. I wanted the band on it at all costs - and got what I paid for. I am still proud of the original recording as a marker for a moment in time, and am glad I had a band to record it with and play live with, but I will no longer have to hear this simultaneously in my head every time I listen to the version on that record. It may not be perfect - the voice and playing may not be what it was 33 yrs. ago - but overall, THIS was what I was looking for. Neither the Tonebenders (all chops, wrong feel), nor the original line-up of Bone Orchard (right feel, but beside the drummer, no chops) were able to give me this, so I finally got around to doing it myself. At least 2 more from that record will also get makeovers in the near future. Amen.
All instruments and vocals courtesy of M. Corcoran (the "last man standing").
Lyrics
They live together yet live alone,
But they'll never leave 'cause there's no place like home.
They cling like vines to selfish hearts that don't amount to much
But it's all they've got.
Psychotic Attraction, it's a fatal reaction,
They're crazy for each other.
A neurotic obsession with the fear of rejection will never let them live in peace.
But they don't care.
A dozen roses, some broken bones
Litter the place that they call home.
A fragile line between love and hate
Crossed too often to still separate.
Psychotic Attraction, it's a fatal reaction,
They're crazy for each other.
A neurotic obsession with the fear of rejection will never let them live in peace.
But they don't care.
Remember, (dismember) what they felt for each other.
(Disaster), the plaster has taken such a beating,
The china (and crystal) in their hands is so lethal.
Homicide (or suicide), they'll love each other to death
Portrait's crooked up on the wall,
But not half as crooked as what they call love.
And all is fair in love and war,
But which it is, they're not quite sure
Psychotic Attraction, it's a fatal reaction,
They're crazy for each other.
A neurotic obsession with the fear of rejection will never let them live in peace.
But they don't care.

Bone Orchard - Come Clean - 1988/2023
Ⓒ Corcoran 1988 Ⓟ Corcoran BMI 2023
Track from upcoming album, “Clinical Mayo”, due out late spring/summer 2023. Originally, another Tonebender-era composition that never saw the light of day. Was one of many pieces written about my leaving that group. The others, you’ll just have to figure out for yourselves.
All instruments and vocals courtesy of M. Corcoran (the "last man standing").
Lyrics:
Well, I stand here before you to bear witness to the truth.
And I don't see the point in further beating around the bush.
Yeah, I feel clean when I come clean,
This ain't no character assasination.
Yeah, I feel clean when I come clean,
I ain't guilty by association anymore.
Well I never intended to lead you on or pull your chain.
But you seemed to get turned on when we're hangin' here in so much pain.
Yeah, I feel clean when I come clean,
This ain't no character assasination.
Yeah, I feel clean when I come clean,
I ain't guilty by association anymore.
Now I'm feeling like a free man,
It's all out in the open, I've lost the point in hoping
That we'll ever see eye to eye and reach an understanding,
Yeah, here's where I'm standing, raising up my hand and watching you get blown away.
Well, it built up for so long inside that i don't know how
I ever got thru it, but that ain't important now.
'Cause I feel clean when I come clean,
This ain't no character assasination.
Yeah, I feel clean when I come clean,
I ain't guilty by association anymore.

Bone Orchard - I Could Be Wrong - 1987/2023
Ⓒ Corcoran 1987 Ⓟ Corcoran BMI 2023
One from the "vaults". Track from the upcoming album, "Clinical Mayo", originally written in 1987 for use with the Tonebenders, but never presented to either the Tonebenders or Bone Orchard. About time it sees the light of day. One hot mess indeed.
All instruments and vocals courtesy of M. Corcoran (the "last man standing")
Lyrics:
Yeah well, I think that life’s a breeze
When you’re living it in trees,
But I could be wrong.
And sex is always better
When you’re doing it in threes,
But I could be wrong, yeah, I could be wrong.
Well, if I told you I would look much better
In the morning light,
Well, I could be wrong.
And if I said that you could trust me
‘Cause I’d always steer you right,
Well, I could be wrong. Yeah, I could be wrong.
I could be talking about something
That I know nothing about,
While I’m trying to impress someone
I just can’t figure out.
The responsibility
Is just too much for me to bear.
So, I would think twice
Before you follow me somewhere.
I used to think that good guys
Always won out in the end.
But I could be wrong.
And when you don’t understand
It’s much safer to pretend
But I could be wrong, yeah, I could be wrong.
I could be talking about something
That I know nothing about,
While I’m trying to impress someone
I just can’t figure out.
The responsibility
Is just too much for me to bear.
So, I would think twice
Before you follow me somewhere.
Words get in the way
When you don’t have much to say.
But I could be wrong.
And what goes on tomorrow
Has no bearing on today.
But I could be wrong, yeah, I could be wrong.
Oh, I could be wrong, yeah, I could be wrong.
Mercy!

Bone Orchard - Love Is A Gas (studio version) - 1988/2022
Ⓒ Corcoran 1988 Ⓟ Corcoran BMI 2022
Tonebender-era composition played as the second song in the Bone Orchard live set every show throughout the band's three year (live) existence. It is FINALLY getting its due as a studio recording. The song's lyrics are actually an ode to flatulence while masquerading as a description of the physical manifestations of love-at-first-sight. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone ever got the joke - they just thought it was about "love". Oh well......
All instruments and vocals courtesy of M. Corcoran (the "last man standing").
Lyrics:
It’s a feeling that comes over me quite suddenly.
Rarely gives me time to react.
And sometimes, it just gets so embarrassing.
I’m so relieved when the moment’s passed.
Love is a gas
Love is a gas.
People stare, but I just stand there smiling.
An emotion, it seems, I just can’t suppress.
And they don’t like it when I express myself so publicly.
But they’re just jealous ‘cause I felt it first.
Love is a gas,
Love is a gas.
Sometimes I’m so afraid to let the real me shine thru. (Let it out, let it out.)
So I close my eye and keep it in so I don’t blow my cool. (Let it out, let it out.)
But I don’t need to strike a pose to come smelling like a rose
When I let what’s inside out, I gotta let what’s inside out, yeah.
My friends think it’s just a passing fancy
But I know it’ll linger for a while.
And when it’s gone, another one soon comes along,
To take the place of one I held so long.
Love is a gas.
Love is a gas.
Love is a gas.
Love is a gas.

Bone Orchard - I'm Not Talking (Yardbirds/Mose Allison cover) - 2022
Song I started doing at the end of my time with the Tonebenders. Always intended to put it in the set with Bone Orchard, but never had a bass player that could handle this one. However, given the verbally repressive times we live in currently, this seemed the appropriate time to resurrect it. So here it is, lyrics included. P.S. It will also appear on the upcoming album, “Clinical Mayo”, due out late spring/summer 2023.
Words and music - Mose Allison
Arrangement - The Yardbirds
All instruments and vocal courtesy of M. Corcoran (the “last man standing”)
Lyrics:
I'm not talkin'
Don't ask me what I have to say
If I said things is splendid
Someone would be offended
If I said things were awful
It might just be unlawful
I'm not talkin' it just don't pay
I'm not talkin'
Don't ask me what it's all about
I used to think I knew it
But man I just out grew it
The things that really matter
Don't mix with idle chatter
And that's one thing I can do without
I'm not talkin'
Don't ask me what I'm gonna do
The things I say at midnight
I might not say in daylight
I've reached the fine conclusion
It only breeds confusion
So don't call me daddy I'll call you
I'm not talkin'
Don't ask me what I'm gonna do
The things I say at midnight
I might not say in daylight
I've reached the fine conclusion
It only breeds confusion
So don't call me daddy I'll call you

Bone Orchard - Into The Light - 2023
Ⓒ Ⓟ Corcoran BMI 2023
Track from upcoming album, "Clinical Mayo". All instruments and vocals (and video thumbnail photo) courtesy of M. Corcoran (the "last man standing").
Dedicated to the angel who did all of this for me - she knows who she is….
Lyrics:
I lived inside a doubt.
I lost all hope of getting out ever again.
I had an urge to scream "I'd rather live inside a dream".
And there you were.
Yeah, out of nowhere you appear.
Your angel wings erase my fear.
Your ray of sunlight on my face transports me to a better place,
Into the light.
I had a silly plan -
I'd build a castle out of sand instead of stone.
And I would build a moat, but build no bridge and build no boat,
So I'd be trapped inside.
Then out of nowhere you appear.
Your angel wings erase my fear.
Your ray of sunlight on my face transports me to a better place,
Into the light.
I lived inside a car in a parking lot under the stars, nowhere else to go.
Then you took me by the hand and led me to your private promised land,
To begin again.
Yeah, out of nowhere you appear.
Your angel wings erase my fear.
Your ray of sunlight on my face transports me to a better place,
Into the light.

All instruments and vocals courtesy of M. Corcoran (the "last man standing").
We've been thinking the same for quite some time, you take yours and I'll take mine.
I think it's time we hit the road instead of hitting each other.
And all this that we built together probably should have lasted forever,
But the walls we made to hold it up just got in the way.
And now I feel no pain. Everything just feels the same.
And now I feel no pain. Everything is such a drag in this Mellow Drama,
No more left for us to learn, no more soar or crash or burn.
On the sofa couched in our indifference, I no longer the meat of your existence.
You put it in your pipe and smoked it, I put it in my hand and choked it.
And the walls we made to hold it up just got in the way.
And now I feel no pain. Everything just feels the same.
And now I feel no pain. Everything is such a drag in this Mellow Drama.
Was a time I could climb your fences, hit your beach and invade your senses.
But now we repulse each other's advances and take no prisoners, take no chances.
Wedding dress just lies there now, a pile of white trash on the floor.
And all the things it once stood for don't stand up any more.
We used to turn each other on, now we do each other in,
You holding the grenade, while I'm pulling the pin.
And now I feel no pain. Everything just feels the same.
And now I feel no pain. Everything is such a drag,
And now I feel no pain. Everything just feels the same.
And now I feel no pain. Everything is such a drag...

I read it in the papers, I see it on TV,
I see it in the way that you're looking back at me.
How your sense of justice is not so color-blind,
And to raise that flag of color is the mark of a crippled mind
Looking for a race war, yeah, I say race war.
Does it really matter whose guts you're gonna splatter?
With your race war, yeah, I say race war.
Yeah, it's human treason to ignore the voice of reason.
I see it in your videos, I hear it in your songs,
The rising call to arms, yeah, everybody tag along.
I hear it from your leaders, their incoherent babble,
Cock your weapons, gentlemen, and let those sabers rattle!
You're looking for a race war, yeah, I say race war.
Yeah you want your cake and want to burn it too
With your race war, yeah, I say race war.
That's one party I won't attend.
Uh, Uh, Oh, Uh, Uh, Oh,
Join the rage, yeah, it's all the rage,
Everybody's looking to join the rage.
Uh, Uh, Oh, Uh, Uh, Oh,
Run for cover, hit the ground,
Ashes to ashes, we all fall down.
I hear it from your Farrakhan, Hitler, and Ku Klux Klan.
Ride the wave of ignorance, drown the man inside the man.
Reduce him to a color, a pigment of his imagination'
Light his fuse and set him loose, let him burn down this damn nation!
With your race war, yeah, I say race war,
Are you really sure of what you're fighting for?
With your race war, yeah, I say race war,
Ashes to ashes, we all fall down
Uh, Uh, Oh, Uh, Uh, Oh,

Rough mix of track from band's unfinished, unreleased second record, "Lunatic Fringe".
All instruments and vocals courtesy of M. Corcoran (the "last guy standing").
Man with a gun is a dangerous thing
When he hears voices and his head starts to ring.
He's primed and he's loaded and his aim is steady.
You're in his sights and now he's ready.
There's death in the trees, there's a killing breeze,
And it's blowing your way.
There's death in the trees, there's a killing breeze,
And it's blowing your way.
Monkey on his back, he's about to crack.
Headful of rage, and now he's gunning for the front page.
Evening news arrives to psychoanalyze.
And pretty little anchor gets it right between the eyes.
There's death in the trees, there's a killing breeze,
And it's blowing your way.
There's death in the trees, there's a killing breeze,
And it's blowing your way.
Shot to the head, shot to the gut,
Look out stomach, I'm gonna throw up.
'Cause there's blood everywhere, there's blood everywhere,
There's blood everywhere.
He's rifling through his pockets
As he's laughing up his sleeve.
When a bullet through the brain
Has got him falling like the leaves.
There's death in the trees, there's a killing breeze,
And it's blowing your way.
There's death in the trees, there's a killing breeze,
And it's blowing your way.

It's time to come down off your high and mighty
Yeah, it's time, it's time, it's time, it's time.
I'm not asking for the world on a silver platter,
No, I just want, just want, just want, just want. want you now.
You fly from one cage to another but you can't remember why you bother
As bars of a feather flock together and conspire to hold you down.
Well, I won't stand in your way or steal your thunder today.
No, I just want to shake with you.
No, I just want to shake with you.
I don't take promises, I don't make promises,
I hate promises, promises, promises, promises.
And life complicates enough on its own
But you keep making it harder, making it harder, making it hard.
You save yourself for someone's rainy days; you're all wrapped up and put away.
You tighten your grip as you start to slip when you feel like letting go.
Mistaking captivity as some form of security.
Yeah, I just want to shake with you.
Yeah, I just want to shake with you.
It's time to slip away, come on out and play.
I'll help you to remember what it means to feel good.
And shake your faith right to its roots
And shake you from your parachutes
'Cause I can see the holes even from where I'm standing.
I just want to shake with you.
Yeah, I just want to shake with you.

Bone Orchard - Your Place - 1992
Ⓒ 1991 Ⓟ Corcoran BMI 1992
Very rough mix of a track from band's unfinished, unreleased second record, "Lunatic Fringe". All instruments and vocals courtesy of M. Corcoran (the "last man standing").
You think you're something special.
You revel in your prominence.
But that case was settled long ago
Due to lack of evidence.
'Cause anyone, yeah, anyone can take your place.
Take a look, the writing's on the wall.
Anyone, yeah, anyone can take your place.
Anyone, yeah, anyone at all.
Your kind comes a dime a dozen.
They'll hardly notice that you're gone.
Of all the things in life that you've been told,
It's the one thing you can depend on.
'Cause anyone, yeah, anyone can take your place.
Take a look, the writing's on the wall.
Anyone, yeah, anyone can take your place.
Anyone, yeah, anyone at all.
Sitting pretty in your tower,
Never looking down, yeah, feeling so secure.
That none can ever scale your lofty heights
As they unscrew your name plate off the door.
'Cause anyone, yeah, anyone can take your place.
Take a look, the writing's on the wall.
Anyone, yeah, anyone can take your place.
Anyone, yeah, anyone at all.

Bone Orchard - Gray Morning - 2022
Ⓒ 2022 Ⓟ Corcoran BMI 2022
All instruments and vocals courtesy of M. Corcoran (the "last man standing").
Gray morning, I'm falling
Under your spell. Take me away from this living hell.
I'll follow where you lead.
Can't stay another day, with nothing left to save or left to say.
Keys in the mailbox with all the wasted time I leave behind.
Someday I'll look back, glad I'm still alive
With so much time and distance from ten years worth of gray days I survived.
A sigh of relief. The sun's come out
And I can live again.

Bone Orchard - Bored To Death - 2022
Ⓒ 1989 Ⓟ Corcoran BMI 2022
All instruments and vocals - M. Corcoran (the "last man standing"),
with some back-in-the-day lyrical assistance from Mighty Joe Vincent of the Devil Dogs.
Cold and like a child, you clutch and you scream
'Cause you just don't understand.
Confused, inarticulate, though the pretense of experience
Drips from your mouth everytime you open it.
You seem so confused. You can't even guess
Why you're so easily amused and why I'm bored to death.
You embrace your illogic like some movie star
You always dreamt of running away with.
Your mind tries to hide at the first sign of thought
As you struggle to become all the things you should have fought.
You seem so confused. You can't even guess
Why you're so easily amused and why I'm bored to death.
Your endless excuses and meaningless blank stares
Plant the seeds of your good intentions everywhere.
I try to explain but screaming is pain
And rocks can roll but they never understand why.
They seem so confused. They can't even guess
Why they're so easily amused and why I'm bored to death.

Bone Orchard - Just Like Me (Paul Revere and the Raiders cover) - 2022
Old Tonebender set standard for over 2 years during the 80's "Paisley Underground" thing. Dedicated to Drake Levin, the Raiders original guitar god - a very early influence for a budding Jimi Hendrix in early-mid 60's Seattle. And myself also, though not at the same time nor place... I tried to channel alot of inner-Drake into the guitar work here. (And Mark Lindsay into the vocals - one of the great screamers of the 60's). Peace my brother... You are missed... Nuff said....

Bone Orchard - Biker Chick - 1992
Ⓒ 1990 Ⓟ Corcoran BMI 1992
Rough mix of track from band's unfinished, unreleased second record, "Lunatic Fringe". All instruments and vocals courtesy of M. Corcoran (the "last man standing").
Her life's a mess now, yeah, it's so empty.
She dreams of running away.
She longs to ride off into the sunset,
Searching for a better way.
She just wants someone who understands her,
Someone to know what makes her tick,
Who rides a Harley, has lots of tatoos,
She just wants to be a biker chick.
She watches too much "Easy Rider",
Can almost feel those engines roar.
She's anti-social, no friends to speak of,
But that don't hurt her anymore.
She just wants someone who understands her,
Someone to know what makes her tick,
Who rides a Harley, has lots of tatoos,
She just wants to be a biker chick.
Mom wants her to go to college, and dad's just hoping for the best
They both pray for her sanity and hope that Jesus does the rest.
What will friends and neighbors think and say when all is said and done?
When their little girl's a hoodlum riding off into the sun?
And now she likes to eat many donuts.
And she's a bit overweight,
And her Prince Charming says I'd like to take you,
But first you gotta lose the weight.
And she says, "Hey, Prince! You must be dreaming!
I don't wanna look like some stick.
I wanna a Harley and lots of tatoos.
I just want to be a biker chick!"

Bone Orchard - Clear and Loud - 1989/2021
Ⓒ 1989 Ⓟ Corcoran BMI 2021
Another Tonebender-era composition, originally recorded for Bone Orchard's unfinished, unreleased second record, "Lunatic Fringe" (1992), but was never completed. Redone completely from scratch for 2021 release. All instruments and vocals - M. Corcoran ("the last man standing").
Party clothes back in the box.
Another night spent watching clocks.
I check the telephone and it's still breathing,
But it might as well be dead.
'Cause I got my answer clear and loud.
Thought you were different, now I don't know why.
Chalk another up to experience; well, I've stopped keeping score.
You don't know what it is you're missing, but then again, neither do I.
If I had any doubts,
I didn't pay them any mind.
And now all I'm left with here in my hand,
Is a wet dream all shot to hell.
'Cause I got my answer clear and loud.
Thought you were different, now I don't know why.
Chalk another up to experience; well, I've stopped keeping score.
You don't know what it is you're missing, but then again, neither do I.
Golden opportunity
To get in acquainted with my TV.
But I feel the urge to just kick it in,
So I guess I better go to bed.
'Cause I got my answer clear and loud.
Thought you were different, now I don't know why.
Chalk another up to experience; well, I've stopped keeping score.
You don't know what it is you're missing, but then again, neither do I.
