House Bill 322 Committee intro: The GOP's response to the Covenant School shooting. 3/37/2023
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Six people were killed at a small, private Christian school just south of downtown Nashville on Monday after a shooter opened fire inside the building of about 200 students, police said.
Police received a call about an active shooter at The Covenant School — a Presbyterian school — around 10:15 a.m. Authorities said that about 15 minutes after that call to police, the shooter was dead. The remaining students were ferried to a safe location to be reunited with their parents.
The House of representatives responded with this bill aimed at fortifying school security readiness. The Debate in this video is the most clear example of the chasm that exists between Lawmakers of the Majority and Minority parties in the Tennessee Legislature.

Footage from the March 30 protest on the floor of the House of Representatives in Tennessee.
NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Tennessee’s Republican-led House of Representatives’ move to expel two Democrats last week resulted in a surprise: It gave the duo the biggest platform of their political careers.
The two Democrats, Justin Jones and Justin Pearson, were expelled from the House days after they interrupted a session to advocate gun control following a mass shooting here. The House’s Republican supermajority sought to punish the freshman lawmakers for breaking House rules but ended up catapulting the two young men with next to no widespread name ID onto the national stage. They have juggled national TV appearances and a call from President Biden.

This livestream is pre-recorded from a few days ago.. and includes some questions that have since been answered but are included here for the sake of completeness. Keep in mind, I have no idea who is guilty or innocent.. I'm simply exploring the possibilities as they could be laid out to a jury of strangers.

Oral Arguments: Convicted Murderer of George Floyd, Derek Chauvin, Appeals for a new trial.
On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a 46-year-old man, was murdered in the U.S. city of Minneapolis by Derek Chauvin, a 44-year-old police officer. Chauvin knelt on Floyd's neck for over nine minutes while Floyd was handcuffed and lying face-down in a street. Two other police officers, J. Alexander Kueng and Thomas Lane, assisted Chauvin in restraining Floyd. Lane had also pointed a gun at Floyd's head prior to Floyd being put in handcuffs. A fourth police officer, Tou Thao, prevented bystanders from intervening.
Prior to being placed on the ground, Floyd had exhibited signs of anxiety, complaining about having claustrophobia, and being unable to breathe. After being restrained, he became more distressed, still complaining of breathing difficulties, of the knee on his neck, and of fear of imminent death. After several minutes, Floyd stopped speaking. For the last few minutes, he lay motionless and Officer Kueng found no pulse when urged to check. Despite this, Chauvin ignored pleas from bystanders to lift his knee from Floyd's neck.
The following day, after videos made by witnesses and security cameras became public, all four officers were fired. Two autopsies, and one autopsy review, found Floyd's death to be a homicide. On March 12, 2021, Minneapolis agreed to pay $27 million to settle a wrongful death lawsuit brought by Floyd's family. On April 20, Chauvin was convicted of unintentional second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter, and sentenced to 22.5 years in prison on June 25. All four officers faced federal civil rights charges. In December 2021, Chauvin pled guilty to federal charges of violating Floyd's civil rights by using unreasonable force and ignoring his serious medical distress. The other three officers were also later convicted of violating Floyd's civil rights. Lane pleaded guilty in May 2022 to a state charge for aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter and on September 21, 2022, was sentenced to three years in prison to be served concurrently with his 2.5-year federal sentence. Kueng pleaded guilty on October 24, 2022, to the state charges of aiding and abetting manslaughter and was sentenced to 42 months in prison, to be served concurrently with his federal sentence. The same day as Kueng's plea, Thao waived his right to a jury trial on the state charge in lieu of a review of the evidence and a determination by a judge, with a verdict anticipated no later than mid February 2023.
Floyd's murder led to worldwide protests against police brutality, police racism, and lack of police accountability.

Florida Sgt. accused of choking female cop; combined bodycam video reveals new information. PART 1.
Part One is the raw video upscaled to [4K Ultra HD] and synchronized into a side by side rendering so that we can see, frame by frame what is happening with Sgt. Pullease as he arrives on the scene and jumps into the action, while also keeping track of the on-scene Officers lead by Cpl Jennifer O'farrill.
The narrative surrounding this incident was so strong that it needed to be repackaged and re-analyzed in order to clearly see what actually happened on that day in November of 2021 when Florida Police Sergeant Christoper Pullease, now retired, was yanked from behind by a couple of his subordinates, seemingly on the silent order of the 2nd highest ranking Officer on scene, Corporal Jennifer O'farrill. The press immediately created a tidy narrative that featured a lone heroic female subordinate making a snap decision to save a helpless, handcuffed, young black man from sharing the fate of George Floyd. Every single news program covered the story in the same way, with the same theme as experts and ex-chiefs from all across the world weighed in on how Sergeant Pullease was wrong to put his hands on a female officer. The headlines became so sensational that they eventually startetd saying he "choked her out". Of course, we can really blame the for profit media for applying the dominant cultural themes to their information as they battle to stay relevant amongst a Public that regards them, more often than not as, "fake news". So we understand the sensationalism. And now that the news cycle around this story has ground to a halt, it's time to take a real look at what happened on that day. It's time to Zoom in on every blade of grass and see what there is to see. Get it.. ZIOEBOG.. Zooming In On Every Blade Of Grass.. !!
--------------------------
Part Two will be a walk-through of the video with highlights to confirm the following:
1. Sgt Pullease was pulled out of the car by two officers, one male, one female.
2. Something improper was being perpetrated against the suspect being arrested, Mr. Similien,
which is why he was unable to get in the back seat of the car.
3. The female officer that is being hailed as a hero is was committing police brutality against Mr. Similien up until the moment Sgt Pullease arrived at the Car where Mr. Similien was being assaulted.

Family of victims arrested after attacking murder suspect in a Louisville Court Room.
It happened at the end of a hearing for Paul Wade, who is accused of killing 26-year-old Edward Lamont Smith and 24-year-old Alexis McCrary in the Russell neighborhood last month.
Jefferson County District Court Judge Annie Haynie said it all started when Wade stood up and said something to people in the gallery. That's when several people jumped up, and started chasing after Wade. Haynie said Wade ran up behind her to get away and several family members followed, one even jumping over the judge's bench.

Tamika Mallory repeats the police's version of events in the Brianna Grier case on the Bfast Club.
Evidence calls into question the official storyline, in its present form. The story has changed over time. Orginally, the police said that she kicked the door open. And now here on the 3rd or 4th version of the story, it all fits very nicely in a smooth statement.. but is it true? The 10 minutes of bodycam footage that has been released actually contradicts the storyline, but for some reason, the news media, the activists and attorneys are all sticking with this same storyline. It's never mentioned that the Officer involved in this is the brother of the long time Sheriff from a prominent family. Its also never mentioned that the Sheriff and his brother are black.. and likely supporters of the NAACP chapter that has taken the lead in the handling of this case. A close ananlysis of the bodycam footage creates more questions than answers.. but minus the black/white racial dynamic, the press and others involved seem to be unsure of how to proceed. It's obvious to me that something is not right with the footage and the coverage of the footage.

Jayland Walker: unarmed man shot over 40 times. Akron Police Bodycam footage.
Akron Ohio Police release the bodycam videos of several officers involved in what some describe as, "a modern day lynching of a young black man". Mr. Walker was shot over 40 times by 8 officers. Many of the shots were delivered while Mr. Walker lay motionless on the grown.
Walker, who was unarmed a the time of his death, was shot and killed as he fled from a traffic stop on June 27. An autopsy revealed he suffered 46 gunshot wounds or graze injuries, according to the county medical examiner.
DiCello said he spoke with Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown to assist in "facilitating" a conversation with DOJ and said the legal team has reached out to US Attorney General Merrick Garland.
"The mail should be arriving on his desk today. We join the NAACP in its request -- issued by President Derrick Johnson -- to have the DOJ get involved in this." DiCello said.
"The U.S. Attorney's Office, the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, and the FBI Field Office in Akron, Ohio are closely monitoring and reviewing the circumstances surrounding the death of Jayland Walker," a DOJ spokesperson said in a statement Thursday.
"The FBI continues to coordinate with state and local partners to provide resources and specialized skills. If the evidence reveals potential violations of federal criminal statutes, the Justice Department will take appropriate action.

Angel Guice: Police Bodycam footage of the events leading up to her arrest at Shady Valley Park.
According to the police, the officer was patrolling Shady Valley Park in Northeast, Atlanta shortly before midnight on Aug. 8 when he encountered Guice and a man together in the park after hours. The park closed at 11 p.m. Law enforcement had recently increased patrols after homicides at two other city parks. The officer attempted to issue Guice and the man a citation for the violation.
The man can be heard on the video asking if he has to sign the ticket, WSB reported. He is told that if he chooses not to sign the ticket, he’ll be arrested. Guice declined to sign her citation.
She asks for the officer’s name and badge number. He identifies himself as Officer Brooks and gives her his badge number twice. He tries to arrest her when she continues to refuse to sign the ticket.
APD said signing a ticket isn’t “an admission of guilt but acknowledgement of receipt of the citation” and the suspect's responsibility to appear in court.
“Refusing to sign a citation is considered reasonable cause to believe the individual will not appear in court or pay the fine and the officer may then physically arrest the individual so they can be brought before the court to post bond,” the APD’s statement said.
“My client, Ms. Guice, never refused to sign,” Merritt said. “She simply asked for additional information and the officer was very short and quickly escalated to the use of force.”
But police officials don’t see it that way. APD said the video shows that “the officer repeatedly asked the female to comply by placing her hands behind her back and the footage shows she refuses each time.”

Steaphanie Lazurus's interrogation for the murder of her love interests wife is a classic among Police Interrogation buffs. The Strategie employed by the detectives and the striking contradictions between her expressions and the actual truth, make for a masterclass in the art of detecting deception in an interrogation setting. JCS Criminology has already immortalized this interrogation in one of its most viewed videos, but they only used about 30 minutes of the footage. This is the full interrogation video.
