Are the Dems Ready for a Change?
This past week marked the 80th anniversary of the invasion of Normandy. The courage and dedication to duty of those men is awe-inspiring. Are the Democrats ready for a change? Kamala Harris has been given an easy, yet high profile assignment of representing the US in peace talks being held in Switzerland. All she has to do is look presidential and not embarrass us and her job will be declared a success in the press. She's been getting great press lately, having done nothing of note. Most important, the first debate between Trump and Biden is scheduled unusually early, this month, leaving plenty of time to make a switch at the convention should Biden fall flat on his face either literally or figuratively.
Good news from Israel... Four hostages have been rescued. There are still too may left in captivity whom we also pray for their safety and speedy release.

Dystopic Journal: We're a banana republic now.
Donlad Trump has been found guilty of 34 trumped up charges somehow connected to a federal crime which the state court has yet to announce. Democrats and people with TDS are celebrating, but their victory will not last. There are so many questions about jurisdiction, due process, and the proceedings themselves that could get the verdict overturned. It’s only a matter of how, where, and when the conviction is reversed. It’s time to hoist the Banana Republic flag, because that is what we are. These political prosecutions are the same kind of thing you see in banana republics. It's the same sort of thing Putin does. The Democrats don't seem to have a problem with it.

What Makes a Country Worth Fighting For? (Essay)
This Memorial Day weekend and with the upcoming 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, I’ve been contemplating what exactly would compel someone to risk their life and well-being in war. Are there any truly good causes, and might there be some causes that are just not worth taking up arms over? Can a country cease to be worth fighting for? Here are some of the things I’ve come up with. What do you think? – JP Mac

Elections a threat to Democracy?
Democrats extol the virtues of democracy constantly, but somehow, democratically elected leaders who refuse to follow their leftist agenda, are labeled threats to democracy. Robert Fico, Prime Minister of Slovakia who just survived an assassination attempt, is one such person. He depicted at a far-right extremists, sometimes even a fascist. Somehow, a populist leader who was democratically elected to his position several time by the people, is considered a threat to democracy. These same people have no problem with non-citizens voting.

Dystopic Journal: Running Your Life, the Regime's Dream
Clip from the LR Podcast
Like the socialists and the fascists of the past century, the leftist's Democrat's dream is to run your life. The President wants to dictate to the banks what they can charge for late fees. The Biden regime through the EPA, wants to increase the regulatory burden on businesses. Such things contribute to Bidenflation.

LR Podcast: The Totalitarian Assault Continues
The totalitarian assault on our human rights continues. The WHO and several countries are continuing their march towards totalitarianism. The WHO wants to dictate what we can do with our bodies, and several countries are attempting to control what we can see and hear. It's to the point where countries like Australia can no longer be thought of as free countries in the way we've formerly understood the concept.

Dystopic Journal: This is the Left
A clip from this week's LR Podcast...
"Mostly peaceful" antisemitic demonstrations causing disruption on college campuses. The Left's variable morality allows them to rationalize things like rape, murder, kidnapping, even genocide- if it's done against a group they hate. For a group that claims to hate fascists, they do spend a lot of time emulating their ways.

Civil War (2024) Review
The new movie “Civil War” has been widely anticipated for months now. It comes in an election year to an America that is heavily divided in real life. It's written and directed by Alex Garland and stars Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, and Cailee Spaeny. It takes place in a dystopian America of the near future. It's a story about a group of war journalists covering a second American Civil War.
All in all, Civil War is worth watching, but if you're looking for a partisan fight, this movie will disappoint. It completely avoids politics and ideology thus, it's safe for conservatives worried the film would be a work of Hollywood propaganda. If you're looking for a thought provoking, cautionary tale against going down that dark road that leads to a second, hot civil war, it does the job. Current and former members of the US military might take issue with the violations of the laws of land warfare committed by professional soldiers in parts. Mainly, it's a human drama about how different people react in extraordinary circumstances.

LR Podcast: Easter Message 2024
Reconciliation and forgiveness are the cornerstones of the Christian faith. There is no point to Christianity without grace. Jesus died to earn us that grace. The reward to us for his ultimate sacrifice was the promise of God’s mercy. When we extend forgiveness to those who hurt us, we become like God. Easter is the celebration of the moment that the promise of reconciliation was sealed by Him.

LR Podcast: Your Weekly Warning Against Leftism
Yet another story of Leftists acting badly is in the news. UC Berkley is being criticized for their handling of another outburst of antisemitism on campus. One student reported being choked, another was spit at during a pro-Israel event. This is the latest in a string of anti-Israel protests turned violent. The variable morality of cultural Marxism is a root cause.

Dystopic Journal, "...Every picture has been repainted..."
(aka: Fake Artificial Reality)
“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”
―George Orwell,1984
Google has put out what some have deemed a "racist" AI, one that will not depict white people in any sort of positive light and has created some absurdly inaccurate depictions of people, especially historical figures. This is DEI gone wild. This, we can assume, it the reality that it's programmers wish were the case. Google, though Gemini AI, seems to be doing just what Big Brother's INGSOC party did in the novel 1984, rewrite not just history, but reality to suit its agenda.
