In late April, survivors of Ukrainian bombing in Artyomovsk spoke to Christelle Néant (Donbass Insider (https://t.me/donbassinsider)) & myself about the horrors they endured on April 11, when Ukrainian forces deliberately blew up the ground floor of their apartment building, burying the civilians sheltering in the basement below. Seven of the seventeen civilians in that basement died almost immediately, including a seven year old child. These civilians spoke about how people known as "White Angels", Ukrainian military police, were actively seeking to abduct children, and were succeeding. “They were hunting our kids, and we were hiding them around the buildings.” Kiev openly announced they would be forcibly taking children, under the premise of providing security. They do so, according to the people we spoke with (and many other testimonies since) against the will of parents, without their consent. Kiev is doing precisely what it falsely-accused Russia of doing (https://t.me/Reality_Theories/10885): abducting children, without their parent's consent. In Moscow I spoke with Jeff Monson, a world-acclaimed American mixed martial arts fighter and political activist. Jeff travelled to the Lugansk People's Republic in 2016, and has returned to the LPR and neighbouring Donetsk People's Republic nearly a dozen times since, speaking with every day people about their lives under Ukraine's war on the Donbass. We spoke about his experiences in the Donbass and how they directly contradicted media claims, as well as his opening of dozens of sports schools in Russia and now in Donetsk. When in the Donetsk People's Republic recently, I visited the Ilyich Iron and Steel Works plant, a sprawling Mariupol plant which was secured in mid-April last year, when over 1,150 Ukrainian Marines surrendered or were captured by Russian forces. Even now, sappers work to clear the vast plant which Ukrainian forces littered with left behind explosives, as well as boobytraps, tripwires and mines. Boobytrapping areas they fled from is something Ukrainian troops did elsewhere in Mariupol, including in apartment blocks. It's something terrorists in Syria likewise did, both with the intent of killing or maiming still more civilians, as well as soldiers—but given that such explosives were left in doorways and areas of homes civilians wouldn't think to be boobytrapped, these were particularly insidious acts of terrorism by both the Western-backed terrorists in Syria and the Western-backed Ukrainian forces and Nazi battalions in the Donbass. Also found at the plant were still more evidence of Ukraine's Nazi problem, paraphernalia from the Misanthropic Division & Azov Battalion, as well as US& Canadian Anti-sniper Fighting instructions, a US combat manual, and a UK Advanced Surveillance and Reconnaissance Course. Some were in both Ukrainian & in English.

During my last trip to Donetsk, over the Christmas & New Years holidays, I joined RT in some reporting. We filmed Artem Zhoga, commander of the Sparta Reconnaissance Battalion, on NY's eve: "What are we fighting against? We are fighting against injustice, against genocide—the genocide of the Russian-speaking population, the dissident population, those who do not think like the, nationalists, the Nazis—against this Russophobia that has formed in the Western world. Against the genocide of the civilian population, because there is no other way to call the enemy's firing on institutions such as the Kalinin hospital, schools, the city center, and the market district.There is no other way to call it, this is precisely the genocide of the civilian population."

Ukraine's terrorism of 2022, and since 2014 in fact, continues into 2023, unsurprisingly. Just as unsurprisingly, Western media ignores or whitewashes it, and the West keeps absurdly pledging more weapons to Ukraine. Geopolitical analyst Brian Berletic routinely notes that the weapons/military aid the west supplies Ukraine is no where near what Ukraine needs to recover its losses, much less challenge Russia. And the West knows this, knows their weapons are being used instead to slaughter Donbass civilians and target infrastructure, and still they send it.... Footage from Kuibyshevsky district, northwestern Donetsk, yesterday, where two houses were destroyed by Ukrainian shelling (and two elderly women injured, thankfully not gravely), the latest consequences of Ukraine's relentless shelling of that residential district, the latest in Ukraine's over 8 years of war crimes against the people of the Donbass, Ukraine's genocide. One older man there who I interviewed asked me if I'll be honest, evidently aware of western media lies on the Donbass. 'It's not just yesterday, it's shelling here every day. It's thanks to Christmas today that God must be hearing us, so far this morning there has been no shelling.' Russian Investigative Committee inspectors determined the shell was a 155 mm shell, which NATO, not Russia, uses. Video is without additional commentary, the people & scenes speak for themselves.

Ukraine sent Donetsk a New Years gift, many actually, bombing the city centre around 4 am this morning. I haven't seen any updates on whether anyone was injured or killed, I hope not. I went out walking & filming a couple hours ago. These are some of the scenes around where Ukraine shelled.

Western media claim up to 1.6 million refugees seeking safe haven in Russia were “kidnapped”. According to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as of September 9, 2022, Russia has nearly 4 million refugees from Ukraine. Anyone following Ukraine's over eight years of war on the Donbass understands why people would seek refuge in Russia. I went to refugee centres in Anapa, a southern Russia city and spoke with a number of refugees from Kherson. Western media won't speak about those refugees, nor those I interviewed, fleeing Ukraine's shelling or due to the risk of being persecuted. By the way, unsurprisingly, Western media pulled this "kidnapped" stunt before. In 2019, Western media was *so concerned* about Syrian refugees from a camp in Syria's east, which Western media alleged were being held at gunpoint in refugee centres in Homs. After interviewing a number of such IDPs, I wrote a detailed article noting the deceptive media reporting on Rukban. They noted the UN had visited the shelters multiple times, “and has found the situation there adequate and in compliance with standards,” and that claims of refugees being shot or threatened were “unfounded”. So much that happens in the Donbass & Ukraine has happened in Syria, with Western corporate media again inverting reality and lauding terrorists, in order to manipulate public opinion in favour of NATO's wars.

On my last couple of visits to Donetsk, I went to an incredible dog shelter caring for over 800 dogs. The Case For Negotiations," Canadian journalist Eva Bartlett, who was granted the 2017 International Journalism Award by the Journalists’ Club of Mexico and has spent years doing on-the-ground reporting of wars in the Middle East, gave an eyewitness account of the ongoing genocide against the people of Donbass, where she has been reporting for the last year. Since 2014, she reported, 12,500 civilians have been killed by sniping and shelling with NATO weapons in both the Lugansk People’s Republic and Donetsk People’s Republic, with over 4,500 killed since mid-February of this year. Given that civilian areas are targeted, this shelling constitutes terrorism and war crimes. According to Bartlett, the Ukrainian military has also been saturating the Donbass with PFM-1 “petal” mines, insidious devices designed not to kill but to maim victims by blowing off their hands or feet. Children are particularly susceptible to these devices. She made the point that were Russia committing these crimes, it would be covered as a constant scandal by Western media. Bartlett ended her remarks by pointing to a flag of the Donetsk People’s Republic she proudly displays on the wall of her home, representing to her the resilience of a people shunned by most of the world and ridiculed as if their lives are meaningless. She expressed hope that the work she is doing will lead to Ukraine being held accountable for its war crimes and help allow people to speak openly about the fact that Ukraine is committing genocide."

What was once a village of 3,500, with a school & kindergarten, is now a shell of a village, with at most 1,000 residents, most of whom don't stay in the village, but come for brief visits & retreat to relative safety in Gorlovka,a city likewise heavily shelled, including with HIMARs on November 12. Not far away, in Golmovsky, I spoke with some of the residents who remain. One told me he'd fled his own town, Dolomoti, NE of Golmovsky, which he said was destroyed by Ukrainian shelling, and has lost three homes, burned down after Ukrainian shelling. He said they were evicted from Dolomoti in 2019, and in 2020, Ukraine completely destroyed the village, “every single house”. He collected money to rent an apartment in Golmovsky, “but three days ago it was hit. I just bought it, and it was already hit. They don't consider us humans. They say it on tv, that we are not human. In 2019, 2020, they told us they don't consider us human and if they enter this place there would be nobody left, they'd annihilate us.” These are but glimpses of the horror Donbass civilians have been living since Ukraine began shelling them in 2014. Complicit media, with blood on their hands, claim this isn't happening. The people being bombed beg to differ.

This was in a completely civilian district where around the same time, still more Ukrainian-fired Grad missiles targeted a school, killing employees inside. Only because children were distance-learning, were they spared. I rented a small apartment in the same district my last visits here. It was an insight into how Ukraine's terrorism reaches everywhere, including an otherwise quiet Donetsk neighbourhood. [Related: Due to Ukraine's attacks on water infrastructure, Donetsk districts have endured water rationing, then, for the past many months such shortages that some districts only get water every 3 days. When I stayed in this neighbourhood, I never had water, period. Built in 1951, the Shakhtar Palace of Culture was formerly a movie theatre and in recent years, a venue for concerts and various cultural events. Alexey, a Gorlovka resident & friend of mine to said that he saw the Donetsk philharmonic play there, and as a youth went there to see movies. He said that children take dancing or singing classes there, though due to Ukraine's intensified shelling, those classes have been paused. According to the centre's director, it was one of the best movie theatres in the Donetsk region, one of the oldest, most beautiful and most beloved buildings in the city. He noted that HIMARs system is a very precise weapon, the attack was not accidental. Colonel Douglas Macgregor: “Your more complex systems like HIMARs, the high mobility rocket system that we provided, are operated exclusively by American and British contractors. Ukrainians aren't operating them." Given that there was no military target there, it is yet another example of Ukraine's (& Western) terrorism against the people of the Donbass.
