The Old Barns Along Our 17 Day Road Trip in the Eastern United States
The sun-kissed fields stretched endlessly as our car wound its way along the rural roadway, each of the 5,100+ mile journey whispering tales of bygone eras. Amidst the rural landscape stood the old barn, weathered by time yet exuding an undeniable charm that captured our eyes.
It was an image of nostalgia, a silent witness to the passage of time and the stories woven into its aged wooden beams. As we passed by, a sense of connection tugged at us, igniting a spark of inspiration that lingered long after the barn disappeared from view.
I began to take photos of the oldest barns throughout our 17 day journey from Maine to Florida and back. This journey was to check out other rural areas of the East Coast to possibly retire to in the coming years.

Cows Stopping Traffic
We came across this on a ride yesterday in a nearby town. The traffic was stopped to get the cows back into the barn.
You never know what you will come across on a rural road.

This is a video of a hiking area in our rural area. It's a cool spot to hike for most of the walk through the wooded area.
However, you must have bug spray with you most of the season. From the black flies to mosquitoes there are always some bugs ready to bite you.

Maine Moose Hiding
It's hard to get images and videos while driving around in Maine near moose alley - where the moose most hang out. But this smaller moose, stayed close to the road as we drove by and blended in very well in the woods.
We were lucky this time not get hit by the moose driving as we have experience 2x in the past several years.

My Rural Life
My rural life is not always so peaceful. We went for a ride to visit a nearby rural town about an hour away. It looked peaceful until I got out of the vehicle. It's that time of the year for taking down trees and doing landscape work.

Deer Looking Before Crossing The Road
This deer was smart and really looked before crossing the rural street. Moose are usually not as smart as the local deer.

Moose Enjoying Food
This video was taken a while back and I forgot about it. Moose are huge animals and can be seen often in Maine.
We have been hit 2x by moose in our truck. Seeing a head on the windshield is a bit frightening, to say the least.
