The War Of The Worlds 1934 - Radio Broadcast - Urgent News Bulletin
We now break from our usual programming for a special broadcast
This is an urgent news bulletin.
The Martian Tripods, that emerged from the fallen cylinders have now begun to move and are approaching the following locations. Please pay attention.
Creekmouth in Barking and Dagenham
Bradford, Huddersfield and Ferrybridge in West Yorkshire
Wallsend, Tyne and Wear
Liverpool in the North West
Derby and Nottingham in the East Midlands
Longford and Birmingham in the West Midlands
Deptford in Greater London
Ironbridge in Shropshire
Stouport Worchester
Portsmouth Hampshire
Other Martian Tripods are still on the move and exact destinations are yet to be determined.
The Directorate of Military Operations and Intelligence have issued a statement declaring that the suspected targets are high capacity power stations. Their trajectory has been tracked and show a direct pathway to the installations.
If the Martians are successful in their attack, they will cripple key infrastructure and plunge major cities into darkness.
Military operations from the air are being planned, and it is suggested that if you live anywhere within a five mile radius of the power stations in the listed areas, that you evacuate immediately and head either into nearby towns or country villages.
Local halls, churches and schools are being advised to open their doors and welcome travellers from the surrounding areas. The military are expecting significant collateral damage from their inland attacks on the Tripods, and the statement reads that it is unavoidable.
Within hours or days, you may not hear another radio broadcast if power is lost, but we shall continue to broadcast for those that remain with electricity. But in the event that you lose communications, do all you can to stay calm, avoid panic, and help one another through this difficult time.
Prime Minister McDonald is resolute that we shall see victory in the face of the attacks and has turned all attention to the matter.
Other countries across the world are also facing the Martian threat, but news is difficult to gather at this current time.
Local police forces are being handed guidelines to maintain basic supply lines should the fighting escalate. So look to your local enforcement for information and direction.
We pray for your safe keeping, .

We watched, as the stars fell from the sky.
First one. Then many. A shower of light, piercing the veil and entering in upon our world.
At first we watched with a sense of excitement.
But as more came down, that feeling seemed to change into a kind of foreboding.
