The Sky Mages report that their foul flying machines gather in the skies outside our borders in preparation to support the troops that now cross our border checkpoints and destroy our telegraph stations. The Awlarion Empire has responded by sending the 64th Chasseur Regiment to repulse the invaders and relieve the King who is believed to be besieged in Fortress Bosson. Man, for only 7 missions this DLC REALLY packs a punch. Six full hours of gameplay, mainly thanks to the missions being really long and varied. I had an absolute blast with Raising Hell and I really hope they release more, it was well worth it. Starship Troopers Terran Command still stands out as one of my favourite new RTS releases, especially with how unique its combat system is. I wish it had MP so badly. Man, I absolutely adore this game. I already love the story of the Czech Legion, to see it brought to life not only so faithfully but also in a very creative and unique game format - I love it. The train is a unique and interesting mechanic, having to maintain it and keep the various needs supplied is engaging and the actual combat is very fun, though I would say it's definitely the jankiest part of the game, specifically in regards to stealth. For a little minimalistic game I picked up on a whim, it was great fun. Its one of those indie games that has a fun core loop that now just needs loads more content to fill out the game. Variety in enemy waves and level design is a better way to keep the game engaging rather than repeating the same levels but with debuffs, though I like that the option exists. The game still feels great even with 4 players thanks to each character being an engaging card engine of some kind, and the new area with its above & below ground split is really fun to quest around. Unfortunately we didn't manage to get the new heroes on our runs, but the boss fight was an epic battle. Bosses that summon stuff back are rough as is, this boss is that taken to 11. The armouring and summoning of the attachment minions really turn this from a winnable fight into a struggle. This is actually SCP: Pandemic, just renamed to SCP: 5K. Either way, the updates are honestly a big step up, the increase in enemy variety is great and the cognitohazard is fun to have a different threat to deal with. I went into this game expecting a pretty standard co-op campaign shooter and instead got blown away by the insane quality and attention to detail. I adore radios (so much so I made a video essay on them 4 years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1pFWhlnG4w&ab_channel=RimmyDownunder ) and proximity chat, and this game does it better than any game I have EVER seen. The voice quality is out of this world, it's scary how well it models objects in the environment affecting someone's voice. The intense noise, gunfire, tinnitus drowning it out, dust being kicked up everywhere - honestly, every single firefight in this game is an absolute rush, it's phenomenal. The military industries of the world have taken an interest in the proxy war and as such PMCs are common on both sides. This is easily the best implementation of Virtual Reality Player vs Flatscreen Players I've seen in a video game to date. It's amazing fun to play as the Giant, but it's also surprisingly tiring having to consistently duck, dodge and weave around while trying to target the players. Map design plays a key role in whether or not it's balanced and fun between the two teams, but as a party game Davigo is excellent.
