It's early season bass fishing pre spawn with grass lines leasing into spawning bays. Me and Matt from @CatchCo are playing with some new baits and rods while trying to target bigger bass on the deeper edges of grass beds after a cold front has dropped air temps from 80's to 40's.

Bass fishing on Braidwood Lake, Illinois. This is a warm water discharge lake created by a nuclear power plant. It never freezes over during the winter, but is closed to anglers throughout the winter months. It remains open to hunters and opens up to anglers on March 1.

The lipless crankbait is a great lure to mimic bait fish as crappie are getting ready for the spawn. While fishing a river, crappie can be found on any current break such as a bridge in 15-30ft of water. As water temperature warm crappie will begin to migrate along the banks of creeks before moving into shallow areas to spawn.

A giant bass eats my wife's fish while crappie fishing on Sam Rayburn lake with my buddy Shaine. She's using a tiny ultra light fishing rod for crappie fishing, making the big bass almost impossible to move up towards the surface.

These largemouth bass on Lake Fairfield are moving up into shallow grass and feeding before the spawn. Fishing crankbaits over warming water grass patches is one of my favorite ways to get reaction bites from these shallow water giant bass!

Fishing for bluegill and other sunfish species for a panfish catch and cook using ultra light tackle on beautiful Lake Ouachita. On this trip I'm taking the Lake Life Family up to Arkansas to the Mountain Harbor resort right on the lake!

Fishing for huge bluegill up under some deep water docks using Googan micro panfish plastic worms and light tackle. These are the biggest bluegill I've ever caught were a challenge to reel in around the docks!

One thing I stress on this channel is to understand what your fish finder is telling you. The reason being sometimes you find a huge school of crappie where you never thought they would be. Crappie fishing on the St. Croix river between Wisconsin and Minnesota has always been hit or miss for me. I was fortunate to find a school using side imaging.
