In this fourth Sunday Bible study on Prophecy, we look at the two Prophets of Yehovah that are raised up to provide the last chance warning to the people of Jerusalem. They receive supernatural protection from the anti-christ and the power of the beast system, and they receive power to bring plagues, drought, and fire down from heaven. After they complete their 1260 days of preaching and warning to the people, Yehovah allows Satan to kill them, but raises them back up after three days, to shock the world. The Bible does not tell us the names of the two witnesses and even though Moses, Elijah, and even Enoch all get talked about as possibilities, we know they are all dead and waiting in the grave just like all other OT characters. In this Bible Study we review the fasting of Queen Esther and the prayers of Jude, the Disciples at the time of Pentecost, and the Apostle Paul for his various congregations scattered around the Mediterranean Sea. We discuss the difference in prayers between the Old Testament, that mostly focus on temporal, physical needs, and the more spiritual and eternal focused prayers in the New Testament, made possible by the infilling of the Holy Spirit. NT Believers should remain focused on the spiritual needs and growth in their lives and in the lives of other believers, and avoid the covetousness we see in many Word of Faith prayers. Yehovah doesn’t care if you are healthy and rich, He cares about your heart condition and whether you are learning and growing spiritually. Praying for the needs of others and for their relationship with Yehovah, should be part of everyone’s prayer time. Every believer is commanded to pray for other believers and to focus on the Wil of God when seeking His Wisdom in their lives. Both Yeshua and the Apostle Paul warned believers that their relationship with Yehovah was like an endurance race, that requires patience and focus to remain faithful to the end. Many religious people today are busy working in the traditions of men and are producing dead works and bad fruit. Believers are told repeatedly that their activities must be led by the Holy Spirit and anchored in the Truth of God, in order to be fruitful and pleasing to God. Praying memorized prayers in vain, Worship that is filled with empty repetition and mindlessly empty lyrics, performing activities to earn the glory of the unsaved, and trusting in your own righteousness all lead to activities that are spiritually worthless. Don’t be a Disciple of Yeshua that tries to please God, while trying to solve problems without living by faith and seeking the Wisdom of the Holy Spirit in your life. Don’t be a believer that works for Yeshua, without having a relationship with Him. Don’t be a Matthew 7 believer that gets rejected for serving and trusting in your own abilities, without Living by Faith. The prayers of those who love Yehovah and are obedient to His Commandments, are like sweet smelling incense going up to heaven. The Bible is filled with dozens of examples of people calling out to God for help in times of need and desperation and we can look to them for inspiration and instruction in our lives today. In this Bible Study we review the songs and prayers of Miriam the older sister of Moses and the female Judge of Israel Deborah. We review the prayers and psalms of King David, as he runs from Saul, learns to be a leader for God’s People, gives Yehovah thanksgiving and praise for promised blessings, and after he succumbs to temptation and goes before Yehovah seeking mercy. King David was a flawed man, but his heart was after God’s Heart and he was quick to repent when he failed to obey. His prayers showed a heart of thanksgiving and humility before Yehovah. He valued the presence and wisdom of God in his life and he reflected those values in his prayers to Yehovah. Prayer is a gateway to our heart and our true values and sincere prayers will always start from a place of obedience and love for Him. The Gaza problem for Israel goes all the way back to Sampson and the philistines 3200 years ago. Yehovah gave Sampson supernatural strength to deal with the heathen along the coast of the Great Sea, but he fell for Delilah and didn't get the job done. He wants to hear from His Children during the good times and the bad, and He wants to be involved in our decision-making processes, to help bring the Truth of God into our lives every day. In this Bible Study we review the prayers of some of the Old Testament figures that learned to trust God and lived by Faith. Abraham, Hagar, Moses, King Hezekiah, Jonah, Daniel and Nehemiah all went through times of trouble and testing, but were able to stay focused on the promised future that Yehovah said would be theirs, if they stayed faithful. People have a tendency to try to claim benefits and privileges that they did not earn, or do not even deserve. If the rules do not allow for them to claim the desirable outcome, they immediately start on a plan to change the rules. They change word or phrase definitions to make it look and sound like they are the rightful beneficiaries of the prize they want to obtain. Believers need to stay on guard for this deception and not fall into the trap of claiming the right to change words and concepts found in the Bible. God’s Word defines Sin, not popular opinions. Your feelings do not determine right from wrong and as Disciples of Yeshua, we need to study The Word and go to God in prayer, so that the Holy Spirit can guide us with His Wisdom. Yehovah is not a liar and He does NOT treat anyone unjustly, so when He promised Abraham and King David that they would receive peace and blessings in the future, they trusted in His Promise. Replacement Theology tries to convince believers that modern believers are in line for the blessings and promises of God that were never realized, since Israel fell away from God into Idolatry. When Yeshua returns to Earth, He will be coming as the King of Kings and will claim the dominion over the entire Kingdom of Yehovah, which is all of the Earth, not just the promised land in the Middle East. The blessings of Abraham and the promise of kingly rule over Jerusalem to King David, will be fully realized in the 1000 year reign of Yeshua over the Earth. Yehovah is the source of all truth and the world does not contain anything that can replace that wisdom, that God shares with His Children. Do not let the world tell you that they have replacements for what you seek that are just as good, but do not come with the need to obey God. Nothing the world promises can even come close to replacing the Living Water that comes from a Holy Spirit filled life in Yeshua. Believers are instructed in the Word of God to cast every care on Him and to live with a prayerful attitude every day. The Old Testament tabernacle, and both of the Jerusalem temples built for service under the Mosaic Covenant are a pattern of the heavenly sanctuary that Yeshua serves in today. The Light of the Lampstand, the Table of Showbread, and the Altar of Incense, all represent the picture of a New Testament believer that is filled with the Holy Spirit of Yehovah. Born again believers are the Earthly sanctuary of Yehovah and should be Holy, Sanctified, and Full of the Holy Spirit, so that their lives will be the Light and the Reflection of Yeshua. Feed upon the Bread of His Presence and pray for the anointing of His Word to not only change your life, but the lives of those around you with your Godly Testimony. This world is being flooded with the lies and the deception from a wicked generation, intending to influence and protect them from their sinful actions. In this special fifth Sunday Skype Bible study we review and explain some of the difficult parables of Yeshua that we find in the Bible. Parables were stories that Christ told that were used to convey a spiritual message to his disciples and followers, hungry for the Truth of God's Kingdom. Some of the parables Yeshua told were easy to understand and some of the parables that he told in the presence of the Jerusalem religious leaders, were more difficult by intention. Yeshua told believers that they would be given the message of His parables with help from Yehovah, but that those who rejected Him and His message of the Kingdom, would not receive or understand the message. New Testament Believers need to study the Bible daily, seek to hear God's Voice in their lives clearly, learn to quickly obey His instructions without excuses, and to ask the Holy Spirit to give them the wisdom and knowledge that only comes through a relationship with Him. There is a great deal of confusion regarding the events and the timing of the last week of Yeshua's Ministry, before He was crucified. Between the Hebrews that don't believe in Yeshua as the Messiah and the Orthodox Church, which has made many millions of dollars off the subject, the actual details have become distorted and confusing. Yeshua came into Jerusalem on Lamb Selection Day (Abib 10), which was a Sunday that particular year, and was celebrated by the Hebrew people as the long awaited savior of Israel. Organized religion celebrates that day as Palm Sunday, even though those same cheering people would be calling for the death of Yeshua four days later. Yeshua had a last meal with His disciples on preparation day for the Pesach offering, which would be the next day. It was not a Pesach meal or seder, and there was no unleavened bread mentioned in the Bible at the event. Yeshua was sacrificed the next day at 3PM on the 14th day of Abib, exactly as God's Word instructed the lambs to be offered up to Yehovah. The Sun was darkened for three hours prior to the death of Christ, to prevent any other Pesach lambs from being offered on the altar at the temple. Yeshua was taken from the cross by Pharisee believers and placed in the new tomb of Joseph of Arimathea. He layed there in the tomb throughout both the Pesach Sabbath and the Weekly Sabbath and was raised up by Yehovah early Sunday morning. Christ was sacrificed on the 14th day of Abib and was raised up after three days and three nights in the tomb. Golgotha is on the Mount of Olives and the crucifixion of Yeshua was at a location visible from the front steps of the Temple. (See Red Heifer instructions.) There are spiritual attacks on Bible believers occurring every day and in many different ways. Yehovah tells believers in His Word that they need to be aware of the tactics and attacks coming from Satan. They must prepare their lives for those attacks and trust in God's Word when those attacks arrive. Real peace that comes from a relationship with Yeshua is only available by studying and knowing Bible Truth, trusting in that Truth and blocking out everything else, and living in obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Guard your mind by filtering out everything that does not glorify Yehovah or produce godly fruit for the Kingdom of God. New Testament believers are encouraged to present themselves to Yehovah as sanctified, holy, and mature disciples, not living in shame and willing to obey and serve. God's Plan for the redemption of mankind includes eternity with Him and fellowship without the curse of sin. The promise of eternal life means a lot more, when you realize that it includes the ability to live in the presence of Yehovah and Yeshua in the New Jerusalem. Yehovah sends the Holy Spirit to help believers navigate their lives in a dark and spiritually dangerous world. The knowledge and advice of the unsaved will never replace the Godly Wisdom that is available to the Children of God, who listen and obey His Holy Spirit. Modern wokeness, philosophy, the traditions of men, and even common sense instructions from religious leaders, are no match for the supernatural wisdom that God makes available through the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Book of Daniel provides a high level map for the coming kingdoms of the gentiles, who would rule and reign over the Land of Promise given to Abraham after the fall of Jerusalem. Procrastination for all the wrong reasons is a big problem among believers in the Body of Christ today. I'm too busy, I don't feel ready, that is not my calling, my family time comes first, I have other things that I am doing for God right now, and I am just too afraid to even trust Yehovah, are all excuses that people think will get them off the hook for not obeying God's Plan. Believers are not saved by their good works, or by staying busy with the traditions of their religion, but by placing their trust and faith in God and living in obedience to HIS commands every day. Living a righteous testimony in a dark and evil world is not just for Sundays or when you are having a good day. In this third part of our Presence and Communion with Yehovah Study, we talk about the difference between the Table of Yehovah that represents communion with Him and the Last Supper of Yeshua, which is a reminder of the fellowship that awaits believers in Heaven because of Christ. Everyone is invited to the Table of Yehovah God for fellowship and communion, but the event requires that everyone put on the righteousness of Yeshua to be allowed entrance. When Yeshua gathered his apostles together for their last meal prior to the Pesach Sacrifice, He was trying to remind them that because of what He was about to go through, everyone would soon have the promise of communion with Yehovah available to them. The New Covenant about to be signed in the Blood of the Lamb would provide the needed covering in the lives of believers, in order to come into the presence of God spiritually, and after the 1000 years of promised rest, physically in the New Jerusalem. When New Testament believers remember the sacrifice that was made by Christ on the tree, it should build their faith and help them to remember the future promises of Yehovah Tabernacling together with His Children in the New Heavenly City of Jerusalem that comes down from above. The Holy Bible is filled with stories of people who worshipped idols made by men using stone and wood. Yehovah constantly reminded the people of Israel that He was the only God that they should worship and to not follow after the other gods worshipped by the surrounding nations. Idolatry in the eyes of Yehovah is like cheating on a spouse and is even referred to as adultery in many places in scripture. The OT prophet Hosea was asked by Yehovah to marry an unfaithful woman, in order to provide an object lesson to Israel on what adultery to God looked like, in the life of a human. What many believers today like to avoid in their conversations, is that loving and caring for your own self, more than you care for the desires and plans of Yehovah, can be idolatry according to God. Stop worrying about getting enough "Me Time" for yourself and being concerned about your plans for your future, and seek God and His Plan for your life. This Bible History session reviews the discovery of ancient scrolls found in caves along the Dead Sea in Israel. The scrolls were a collection of religious and sectarian writings, that were quickly buried prior to the destruction of the Qumran settlement by the Roman army in 68 BC. The Essenes were a group of fundamental Jewish people that lived away from the wickedness of the religious system in Jerusalem. They read copies of the Torah and studied the works of the ancient Hebrew prophets, living set apart from the traditions of the ungodly leaders in Jerusalem. God's Word tells us that knowledge will increase before Yeshua returns at the end of the age, and discoveries like the Dead Sea Scrolls at Qumran, are providing the knowledge that Yehovah promised would be available to help end time believers. God's Word describes for us many different topics that are not up for debate, or open for public approval. Yehovah is the God of the Bible and ALL truth comes from Him. Yehovah has made a way for lost sinners to receive the free gift of salvation through Yeshua, His only Begotten Son. The Word of God tells us that Yehovah not only knows the future, but that He is in control of the future. As disciples of Yeshua, we can be certain that the Plan of God that we see painted for us in the Bible will come to pass exactly as foretold by the OT Prophets of Yehovah. Believers that do not study Bible Prophecy will live in fear and uncertainty, just like the unbelievers of this world. God has given us many stories in the Bible to show us that not only does Yehovah know the future, but that His Words are true and should never be doubted. Some people may tell you that Yehovah changes and that He has dealt with nations and groups in different ways and under special rules, but dispensationalism ignores the many places in the Bible reminding us that God never changes and that He does not play favorites with anyone. We know that the Father's Name does not have an Aramaic or Arabic (W)aw in it. The Name of the Father must be at least three syllables long and must include the letter O, as in Yeho or Yaho. The poetic Name "YAH" is correct, but when placed at the beginning of a name, takes the short form and becomes Yeho, as in Yehoshua. (Salvation of Yehovah) Many Hebrew scribes and Catholic leaders have tried to hide the Name of Yehovah for their own benefit, but Yehovah never said to NOT speak His Name. In God's Word we see that Yehovah's Name WILL be sanctified, the Kingdom of Heaven WILL be preached, and the wheat and tares WILL be separated, before Yeshua returns to claim His Earthly Kingdom. O Little Town of Bethlehem is a very popular holiday song that reminds believers that the little town was not important in the eyes of the world, but to God it was going to be special. The savior of the world would be born in that humble little town and the course of history would change forever, when later as an adult He would announce himself as the Messiah. Bethelehem was a small blue collar town (House of Bread), that had a great history with royalty (David) and righteous judges (Boaz), and many other important events occurred there prior to the birth of Yeshua. Rachel died giving birth to Benjamin near Bethlehem, the priestly tower where the shepherds watched over the temple flock was near Bethlehem and the living water from the pools of Solomon flowed down hill from Bethlehem to supply water to the Jerusalem temples. Yeshua came as the bread of life for all who seek the truth and He made the living water of the Holy Spirit available in the life of every believer. He was inspected by the priestly shepherds, while wrapped in swaddling clothes, and later as a child He was worshipped by the Magistrates as the promised King of the Hebrews. Gentleness is the forgotten fruit in the life of many spirit filled believers. The world is sometimes harsh with the young and abrasive with their treatment of each other and it is sometimes easy to fall into the pattern of living life as a rough, thick skinned believer. Believers receive a new heart and a new mind when they are born again and the Holy Spirit starts the cleanup process of making them into the image of Yeshua. Believers should not be satisfied to have love and patience in their life, but talk and act like the unsaved world in their language and in their behavior. Gentleness and Compassion were evident in the life of Yeshua and He was just reflecting the traits that He saw in His Father. God is kind, gentle, merciful, and compassionate to everyone and the children of God should look and act like their father. We live in a rough and an abusive world and Yehovah has made a way for believers to let the Holy Spirit create in us a new heart and to not reflect the harshness we receive from people in the world.
