Recently, I had the privilege of interviewing Professor Nancy Pearcey regarding her newest book "The Toxic War on Masculinity: How Christianity Reconciles the Sexes." Her earlier books include Love Thy Body: Answering Hard Questions about Life and Sexuality, The Soul of Science, Saving Leonardo, Finding Truth, and two ECPA Gold Medallion Award Winners: How Now Shall We Live (coauthored with Harold Fickett and Chuck Colson) and Total Truth. If you were to sample a group of Christians as to which translation of the bible they use, you are going to get mixed results. So why are there many translations? Christians have been on the defense in the culture war for a long time. If a news reporter were to walk up to you and ask do define a biblical positions on LGBTQ issues, would you be able to do it? What if the reporter gives loaded questions like, “Why do Christians hate gays?” “Why can’t Christians let people do what they want in private as consenting adults?” How would you respond to those questions, and could you do it quickly and concisely?
