Exploring the 2024 Toyota RAV4: Features, Performance, and More!
2024 Toyota RAV4
Starting at $30.025
Highs: Distinctive looks, a bundle of standard safety features, does every job without fuss.
Lows: No flair beyond the exterior design, average acceleration and handling, base trim is spare and best avoided.
Verdict: Newer rivals are beginning to close the gap, but the RAV4’s practicality, affordability, and ease of use still demonstrate why it's regularly one of America’s best-selling vehicles.
Overview
The Toyota RAV4 turns 30 this year, and it is still obvious why the compact crossover regularly ranks as the best-selling non-pickup in the U.S. There’s nothing flashy here; the RAV4’s focus is on getting every job done without a fuss. It is practical, fuel-efficient, and rugged-looking. Available all-wheel-drive systems add a little bite to the stylistic bark of an SUV that’s actually best when tackling familiar suburban tasks. It offers plenty of features and its wide price range suits shoppers of many budgets. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder and eight-speed automatic deliver restrained acceleration in the name of good fuel economy. Beyond the attractive base price, cargo-friendly interior, and sensible road manners, Toyota also includes a host of driver-assistance tech and desirable infotainment features as standard, two more ways the RAV4 continues to be a challenge for rivals to overcome. A hybrid and a plug-in-hybrid powertrain are also available, but we review those models separately.
What's New for 2024?
Army Green, a paint color already seen on several of Toyota's bigger trucks and SUVs, makes its way to the RAV4 this year. The hue will be offered on the Adventure and TRD Off-Road trims as a no-cost option. A two-tone color combo will also be available for these variants, paired with either a white or a black roof.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
The price of the 2024 Toyota RAV4 starts at $30.025 and goes up to $39.645 depending on the trim and options.
LE: $30,025
XLE: $31,535
XLE Premium: $34,425
Adventure: $36,220
Limited: $38,330
TRD Off-Road: $39,645
Although we’re drawn to the TRD Off-Road, we'd practice restraint and choose the mid-range XLE Premium. It provides plenty of standard equipment that the LE and XLE don't offer as standard or at all, such as fog lights, 19-inch wheels, a power liftgate, a moonroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, faux-leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and soft-touch armrests. Toyota makes its suite of driver-assistance features standard across the lineup, so there's not much reason to go with a pricier trim—unless, of course, you need rugged looks or ventilated seats.

Unveiling the Powerhouse: 2024 Audi S8 Review & Performance Showcase
2024 Audi S8
Starting at $121.695
Highs: Potent twin-turbo V-8, deluxe cabin, agility-boosting rear-wheel steering.
Lows: Not particularly fuel efficient, sedate styling, six-figure price tag.
Verdict: The S8 combines sports sedan handling and luxury car splendor in a stealthy package.
What's New for 2024?
Like the regular A8 sedan, the S8 gains an app-based remote-start feature for 2024 as well as a new suite of apps designed to improve access to entertainment and navigation. Otherwise, the S8 is unchanged for the 2024 model year.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
The price of the 2024 Audi S8 starts at $121.695.
S8: $121,695
That six-figure starting price is steep, but the S8 comes well-equipped even by luxury car standards. We'd suggest the Comfort Plus package as it adds heated rear seats, a leather-wrapped dashboard, a head-up display, and fancier LED headlamps; the Executive package is also appealing and comes with blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assist, and 21-inch wheels.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The S8's sole engine choice is a potent one: a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine making 563 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is standard, and the transmission is an eight-speed automatic. Audi claims a top speed of 155 mph, and there are fuel-saving systems, too, including cylinder deactivation and a mild-hybrid setup with a small electric motor and battery. At our test track, the S8 blasted to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. An active suspension system can control each wheel individually to improve ride quality, and it is tuned differently than that of the standard A8, delivering improved cornering prowess thanks to reduced body roll. Audi also includes equipment such as a torque-vectoring rear differential and rear-wheel steering to increase agility; powerful carbon-ceramic brakes are optional.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
Fine materials line nearly every square inch of the S8's cabin, including leather upholstery, a faux-suede headliner, and a stitched leather dash cover. The front seats offer standard heating, cooling, and massage, while the rear cabin offers tons of space for passengers to stretch out. To pamper those in the back seat even more, consider the Rear Seat Comfort package, which adds power-adjustable outboard seats with heat, ventilation, and massage, plusher headrests, heated armrests, and a remote control for the car's infotainment system. Four-zone automatic climate control is standard, as is a multi-color ambient interior lighting system. The trunk is generously sized and identical to that of the A8, which proved its mettle in our testing by holding six carry-on suitcases. For comparison the Mercedes-Benz S-class held 5 and the BMW 7-series just three.

2024 Novitec Rolls Royce Cullinan: Ultimate Luxury SUV Upgraded | Features, Specs & More!
Cullinan
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is one of the world's most extravagant SUVs straight from the factory. SPOFEC makes the English luxury motor car even more exclusive with a sophisticated refinement range that at the same time also boosts the driving dynamics. The spectacular SPOFEC OVERDOSE widebody gives the five-door an even more striking appearance. Under the fender flares at the front and rear axle is room for forged SPOFEC 24-inch wheels developed in cooperation with American manufacturer Vossen. The SPOFEC lowering module allows lowering the ride height of the Cullinan by about 40 millimeters to complement the sporty street tires. SPOFEC also breathes some extra fire into the twelve-cylinder twin-turbo engine to match the more agile handling. The performance increase to 504 kW / 685 hp shortens the 2.7-ton SUV's sprint from zero to 100 km/h to a mere 4.9 seconds. In order to give the V12 a sportier exhaust note, SPOFEC offers sport exhaust systems with and without electronic sound management. The German refinement specialist also customizes the interior of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan by customer request.

Unveiling the Luxurious 2024 Mercedes Maybach S580: A Comprehensive Review
2024 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class
Starting at $199.450
Highs: Hypebeast-meets-aristocrat vibe, silky turbocharged powertrains, practically floats down the road.
Lows: Not as recognizable as a Rolls-Royce, massive markup over the standard S-class, V-12 engine guzzles gas like a pickup truck.
Verdict: As the ultimate Mercedes sedan, the Maybach S-class out-luxes everything else in the brand's portfolio—and well it should at this asking price.
Overview
Billionaire buyers looking for the ultimate in luxury will find the 2024 Mercedes-Maybach S-class a sedan fit for their regal routines. Based on the Benz-branded S-class, the Maybach version turns luxury all the way up and features interior materials that put it squarely in the same class with high-dollar rides such as the Bentley Flying Spur and the Rolls-Royce Ghost. Like those cars, the Maybach is designed to pamper every occupant, especially those in the rear, who are treated with options such as reclining seats with massage, a beverage cooler, and electrically operated doors. A standard air suspension virtually erases potholes, making it a peaceful place to close a multimillion-dollar deal or sip a glass of champagne on your way to the red carpet. And depending on how you customize it, the Maybach S-class can get you to your destination without attracting attention from paparazzi, or it can announce your arrival with hypebeast flair.
A Night Series appearance package is now available for the Maybach S-class that features darkened chrome exterior accents peppered with rose-gold details in the headlamps. The Night Series models come in gray, black, or white exterior colors or can be had with a two-tone Onyx Black and Mojave Silver scheme. The Maybach rolls on special dark-finished wheels embossed with a pattern made entirely of Maybach logos. The car's cabin is decked out, of course, but the Night Series takes it a step further with unique finishings, and you can choose from either an all-black leather upholstery or a white and black duo.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
The price of the 2024 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class starts at $199.450 and goes up to $235.450 depending on the trim and options.
If you're gonna go with a Maybach version of the S-class, you might as well go big and get the S680 and its powerful V-12 engine. Standard features are of course plentiful and include luxury items such as soft-close doors, an air suspension, a 30-speaker Burmester stereo system, and a rear-seat entertainment system with two 11.6-inch touchscreens and much, much more.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
Under the hood of every S580 sedan is a 496-hp twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine, which is augmented by a 48-volt hybrid system. Going with the S680 swaps in a 621-hp 6.0-liter V-12. All models will come with Mercedes' 4Matic all-wheel drive system. The V-8 makes 33 more horsepower than the old S560 from 2020, and it packs quite a punch. During our testing, the S580 rocketed to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds. But that's not the most impressive thing about the Maybach S-class. During our time with the car, we were impressed with the ride quality and the nearly silent cabin—we recorded an extremely low 64 decibels inside the car while cruising at 70 mph. The V-12's power rating is the same as the 2020 S650 model and does not benefit from a 48-volt hybrid system, but we haven't had a chance to test the new one yet.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The Maybach S-class has a seven-inch-longer wheelbase than the already-large Benz-branded S-class sedan, which provides even more stretch-out space inside its leather-lined cabin. So many luxury features are standard in the Maybach we couldn't possibly list them all here, but all models will come with exquisite leather on virtually every interior surface; a 64-color interior ambient lighting system; heated and ventilated front seats with massage and four-position memory settings; heated rear seats with power adjustments and massage; an air ionizing system with a signature fragrance; and a panoramic sunroof. For buyers who intend to be chauffeured, Maybach can add the optional Executive Rear Seat Plus package, which includes rear-seat folding tables, an extended center console, additional rear-seat wood trim, and temperature-controlled cup holders. Also optional are electrically operated rear doors, a refrigerator, and Maybach-branded champagne flutes.

Discover the Futuristic Elegance of the BMW i5 2024: A Visionary Ride into the Future
2025 BMW i5
Starting at $68.000 est
Highs: Satisfyingly quick, blends comfort and sport adroitly, posh interior.
Lows: Less driving range than key rivals, infotainment tech is borderline complicated, less trunk space than gas 5-series sedan.
Verdict: The i5 offers everything that makes the 5-series appealing and adds punchy EV powertrains and well-honed driving chops.
Overview
BMW's been selling a 5-series luxury sedan for decades, but this latest generation is the first to spawn an all-electric variant called i5. The 2025 i5 offers much the same driving experience as its gasoline-powered sibling, meaning it's a comfortable and cossetting car with a taste of BMW's trademark athleticism—minus the sound of a gas engine, of course. While it's not quite an electric M5 super sedan, the dual-motor M60 xDrive model is close with 590 horsepower and a 60-mph time that we estimate will be just 3.3 seconds. The i5's other trims—the 335-hp eDrive40 and the 389-hp xDrive40 aren't as quick but offer more range, with the rear-drive eDrive40 model topping the lineup with 295 miles per charge. Technology takes over the front seat in the i5, with a sweeping digital dashboard that glows brightly with reconfigurable gauges and BMW's iDrive 8.5 infotainment interface. The growing number of EV luxury sedans in the i5's competitive set includes the posh Genesis Electrified G80, the tech-heavy Mercedes-Benz EQE, and the performance-oriented Porsche Taycan. Like its rivals, the i5 offers an eco-friendliness blended with plenty of luxury. All that's missing is a trim with enough performance to rival the gas-powered M5.
What's New for 2025?
The i5 was new just last year, but BMW is already adding a third model to the mix in the form of the xDrive40. This all-wheel drive model features two electric motors for a combined 389 horsepower and a claimed 60 mph time of 5.2 seconds. The driving range hasn't been announced for this new model yet, but we expect to see it come in a little bit below the rear-wheel drive eDrive40's 295-mile estimate.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
The price of the 2025 BMW i5 is expected to start around $68.000 and go up to $86.000 depending on the trim and options.
eDrive40: $68,000 (est)
xDrive40: $71,095
M60 xDrive: $86,000 (est)

Discover the All-New 2024 Lexus LX 600: Unveiling Luxury, Performance, and Innovation!
2024 Lexus LX
Starting at $93.915
Highs: Powerful and polished powertrain, comfy, luxe cabin, genuine off-road ability.
Lows: Subpar third-row room, missing some high-end features, miserly luggage space behind the third row.
Verdict: As big and ritzy as a Lexus SUV gets, but most rivals go further.
Overview
The Lexus LX, long known as a plusher version of the iconic Toyota Land Cruiser off-road SUV, no longer has a close relative at the Toyota store. That’s because the all-new 2024 Land Cruiser is now the smaller of the siblings rather than a near-twin. The LX, on the other hand, is unchanged and remains a full-size luxury SUV with proven off-road toughness. It’s powered by a smooth and powerful 409-hp twin-turbo V-6 working through a 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. Rivals such as the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator are more flamboyant while the LX600, as it’s officially known, delivers a more subdued sense of luxury. The LX600 benefits from a reputation for both longevity and for being one luxury SUV that's as at home on a trail as on a boulevard. But while it delivers a supple ride and coddles its passengers in comfy seats, it lacks some of the extravagances of its similarly pricey competitors.
What's New for 2024?
The LX was completely redesigned for 2022 and has been little changed since. The 2024 model year sees but one update: the Ultra Luxury version's rear-seat entertainment system now comes with wireless Bluetooth headphones.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
The price of the 2024 Lexus LX starts at $93.915 and goes up to $134.490 depending on the trim and options.
LX600: $93,915
LX600 Premium: $101,865
LX600 F Sport: $108,125
LX600 Luxury: $109,865
LX600 Ultra Luxury: $134,490
We think that the Luxury trim represents the best value here—value being a relative term when you’re talking six-figure SUVs—as it adds niceties such as semi-aniline leather upholstery, a Mark Levinson stereo system, and handsome 22-inch wheels among other features. Buyers who reflexively gravitate to the top of the lineup should know that the Ultra Luxury trim limits the cabin to just four seats.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The LX600 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V-6 engine that makes 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive are both standard. Given Lexus's penchant for hybrid powertrains, we wouldn't be surprised to eventually see a gas-electric setup under the LX's hood, similar to the V-6 hybrid used in the 2022 Tundra pickup, but so far the company has made no move to offer it. On the road, the twin-turbo V-6 provides ample power and the refined presence that’s expected in a luxury vehicle. In our testing, the LX600 hustled to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds, which will be more than enough for most drivers. The four-wheel-drive system includes a low range for when the going gets tough, although the fixed running boards would be vulnerable in serious off-road scenarios. Most LX600 models deliver a compliant ride, although that relaxed suspension means this tall schooner lists in turns. The F Sport model’s firmer suspension quells that tippy tendency somewhat but results in more ride harshness.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
Inside, the LX oozes luxury, starting with a wide center console between the front seats that creates a cozy cockpit environment. Quilted leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped dashboard, wood trim, and smoked-chrome accents imbue the LX’s cabin with a luxe ambiance. The front thrones earn top marks for comfort although they can't give you a massage, unlike those in most other luxury SUVs. The entry-level Standard trim comes with room for five in two rows of seats; the mainstream Premium, Luxury, and F Sport trims come with a third row of that increases passenger capacity to seven. The top-spec Ultra Luxury model is more for the chauffeured set with a four-seat layout that eliminates the third row and features dual reclining captain's chairs in the second row divided by a center console, plus rear-seat entertainment displays and wireless smartphone charging capability.

Unveiling the Luxurious 2024 Mercedes GLS: A Comprehensive Review
2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class
Starting at $88.150
Highs: Posh interior, packed with technology features, smooth-running engines.
Lows: Big box design isn't elegant from every angle, neither powertrain is particularly efficient, all this luxury comes at a price.
Verdict: The GLS-class is what family transit looks like for the well-to-do.
Overview
Whether you're shuttling your heirs to boarding school or hauling home a restock of your wine cellar, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS-class SUV has the space and refinement for such duties. While GLS450 models come with a smooth-running 375-hp turbocharged inline-six, badge snobs will want to go for the more powerful 510-hp GLS580, which boasts a twin-turbo V-8 engine. The GLS is so refined on the road, its off-road capability is a surprising and welcome trait. Mercedes has made sure it's able to tackle more obstacles than most buyers could dream of taking on. The air suspension can raise for more ground clearance, there are clever all-wheel-drive features to help keep things going in the right direction, and there's even available underbody protection to shield the GLS's sensitive bits when navigating over rocks and ruts. On the road, the GLS's agility and comfortable ride are its most satisfying characteristics. Its taut body control is on par with the BMW X7 and bests that of rivals such as the Land Rover Range Rover and the Lincoln Navigator.
What's New for 2024?
Mercedes has given the GLS a styling refresh for 2024 that includes an updated grille design, a reworked front bumper, new LED taillights, a new steering wheel, and fresh interior color schemes. The GLS450's six-cylinder powertrain gets a boost to 375 horsepower while the V-8–powered GLS580 now boasts 510 ponies. That model can now also be had with a new Off-Road Engineering package, which adds underbody protection and a revised air suspension that can raise the SUV an additional 1.2 inches for better ground clearance.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
The price of the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS-class starts at $88.150 and goes up to $113.150 depending on the trim and options.
GLS450: $88,150
GLS580: $113,150
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
Two models are offered—the six-cylinder GLS450 and the eight-cylinder GLS580—and both feature some hybridization. The GLS450's turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six is smooth as polished granite and gets a bump from 362 to 375 horsepower for the 2024 model year. The GLS580 is far more powerful, making 510 horsepower from its twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8. At our test track, the 2020 GLS450 we tested managed a brisk 5.5-second run to 60 mph and stopped from 70 mph in a short 154 feet. Despite its size, the GLS-class is easy to hustle on a twisty road, but it's not overtly sporty. All models come standard with an air suspension, but Mercedes also offers a trick system called E-Active Body Control. It utilizes a forward-facing camera to scan for bumps and adjusts the suspension accordingly so riders will feel less of the road’s imperfections. It's a cool technology but expensive, and we think most buyers will find the standard setup does a fine job.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
Borrowing its dashboard and cockpit layout from the similarly new GLE-class SUV, this generation of GLS is far more modern than the one it replaces. It'll fit up to seven passengers but can be spec'd for six with the optional captain's chairs. Passenger space is generous in the first and second rows, and the third row, while not as spacious as the second, can accommodate an adult without too much complaining—something that can't be said of the wayback in the X7.

Discover the Chinese Stunning Sedan 2024 Hongqi H9: Luxury Redefined!
Hongqi H9 Review
The car you see is the Hongqi H9, a flagship luxury sedan that is packed with features and is out to change people’s opinions about Chinese luxury. For those of you who aren’t quite aware of Hongqi, it is a brand that is associated with a lot of prestige, as it is the oldest Chinese passenger car maker in the world. Now that you’ve got an idea of what we are dealing with, let’s jump right in.
Drive
Here in the UAE, the Hongqi H9 is available with two engine options: a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 248 horsepower and a more powerful 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine that produces 279 horsepower.
Our test car is the 3.0-liter model is equipped with air suspension, meaning the ride is extremely smooth and that bumps in the road are almost unnoticeable. With 400 Nm of torque, the H9 never feels underpowered, but if you do have a lighter foot, you will be happy to know that NEDC fuel consumption averages stand at 9.0-liters for every 100 kilometers, which is extremely impressive for a car of this size.
When it comes to driving aids, the H9 has a lot to offer. There’s everything from a driver attention monitor to autonomous braking that kicks in if the driver doesn’t respond in time and blind-spot monitoring to lane departure alert. There’s also adaptive cruise control and automatic parking that make each and every drive in the all-new Hongqi H9 a safe and enjoyable one.
Interior
With a choice of four interior color options, the cabin is a spacious and comfortable place to be in. There’s leather on the seats, leather on the dashboard, leather on the door panels, and leather on the center console as well. The feeling of luxury is further heightened with wood and piano black trims as well as silver piping on the steering wheel, dashboard, and center console.
The design is very clean and minimal and that is made possible with two large screens – one for the instrument cluster and one for the infotainment screen – working as the central command center. With very few buttons and knobs, the cabin looks modern and welcoming and can be lit up in a choice of 253 colors using the ambient lighting system.
In the back, the H9 is just as comfortable, luxurious, and spacious, meaning that whether you are driving or being chauffeured in it, you are bound to have a great experience. There is plenty of space in terms of headroom and legroom, and comfort is provided by zero-gravity seats and a 4-zone climate control system.
Features
When it comes to the features that set the H9 apart, there’s a panoramic roof, seat heating and cooling for the front and back seats, a brilliant 12-speaker Bose audio system, an AQS air quality monitoring system, and a 360-degree camera system.
Exterior
The Hongqi H9 has an identity of its own and it is bound to turn heads wherever it goes. The large chrome grille which makes it look commanding and luxurious is flanked by a set of Matrix LED headlights and the sleek red line that runs down the hood is no coincidence. There’s a thin red stripe on the fenders and if you were to approach the car at night, you’d notice a red welcome light as well.
Depending on the version you opt for, there are three alloy wheels you can choose from, 18-inch, 19-inch like we have on our test car, or the optional 20-inch. What remains standard on all; however, are the cool pop-out door handles that give the car an extremely sleek and aerodynamic design when not in use.
Verdict
The Hongqi H9 is the newest and most luxurious car to come out of China. It looks very different to anything else out there and you are bound to feel special each time you drive it. If you are a fan of the H9 then we urge you to follow the official Hongqi account and your local dealer’s account on your favorite social media channel to stay up to date with all that is happening and be informed of the prices once announced. Unveiling the Luxurious Rolls Royce Spectre 2024: A Masterpiece of Automotive Innovation
2024 Rolls-Royce Spectre
Starting at $422.750
Highs: Absolutely silent inside, highest level of fit and finish, makes the same high-end statement as gas-powered Rolls-Royces.
Lows: Less driving range than other high-dollar EVs, road manners a bit on the floaty side, sharp impacts aren't entirely erased by the suspension.
Verdict: Rolls-Royce's first EV is a spectacular one, and proof that even the worlds most luxurious cars are capable of eco-friendly motoring.
Overview
Rolls-Royce is taking its ultimate-luxury ethos to a new realm with the all-electric 2024 Spectre coupe. James Bond probably wouldn't toast the new model with one of his shaken-not-stirred signature martinis given his history of battling the international crime organization known as Spectre. But he might want to drive the regal new coupe nonetheless. The Spectre rides on the same platform as the Phantom sedan and Cullinan SUV but is propelled by a fully electric powertrain consisting of two electric motors that pump out a combined 577 horsepower. The driving range is estimated to be as high as 291 miles per charge, which does not place the Spectre among the long-range EV cohort with less-expensive rivals such as the Tesla Model S and the Lucid Motors Air. But buyers with the $450,000 or so available to buy a Spectre aren't likely to road trip when their private jet is always standing ready at a nearby airfield. The Spectre is Rolls-Royce's first in a series of EVs, and the company says that its gasoline-powered models will be phased out of the lineup and replaced entirely with EVs by 2030.
What's New for 2024?
The Spectre is a new addition to the Rolls-Royce lineup and its first customers can expect to take delivery by the end of 2023.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
The price of the 2024 Rolls-Royce Spectre starts at $422.750.
Spectre: $422,750
Rolls-Royce will let you customize a Spectre pretty much any way you want. And that's a good thing, because, with a price tag this high, we expect buyers will want something truly personalized.
EV Motor, Power, and Performance
All Spectres will come with a dual-motor electric powertrain with 577 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. After taking the Spectre on a test drive, we estimate that the electric powertrain will move the 6559-pound coupe to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds. You may scoff at that estimate and point to the Tesla Model S Plaid that hit 60 mph in 2.1 seconds in our testing, but we'd be quick to remind you that Rolls-Royce's brand ethos is more about quiet cruising than mind-bending performance. Although sharp impacts will still make themselves known, Rolls-Royce has installed adaptive suspension to ensure an appropriately isolated ride over all but the biggest bumps, and the engineers also made room for a massive amount of sound-deadening material to maintain a whisper-quiet cabin. And oh how quiet it is. On the road, the Spectre is so silent inside that your ears pick up almost no sounds until you get up to 80 mph and the wind starts to only slightly penetrate into the tomb-like cabin.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The Spectre's cabin offers space for four with bucket seats in both rows. Anyone familiar with Rolls-Royce's current interior design will find a similarly sybaritic one here, although the company has added several design features that are unique to Spectre. For example, in addition to the brand's signature starry-night headliner, the Spectre's door panels rock a similar twinkle with tiny LED lights sparkling in the area surrounding the armrests. We don't yet know all the details or have a list of options and features but the Spectre should be available with a seemingly endless array of personalization options and material choices.

Exploring the Ultimate Luxury: Range Rover SV 2024 Review and Features
2024 Land Rover Range Rover SV
Starting at $181.775
Highs: More horsepower than key rivals, plush cabin trimmings, still impresses off-road despite its on-track capabilities.
Lows: Harsh ride on 23-inch wheels, hard-to-swallow price tag, first year models are by invitation only.
Verdict: The Range Rover Sport SV is a high-dollar, high-power performance SUV that still lives up to the Land Rover brand's off-road ethos.
Overview
Leaving the former 575-hp Range Rover Sport SVR in the dust, the all-wheel-drive Range Rover Sport SV is the most powerful Rover ever. Its 626-hp twin-turbo V-8 is like using fighter jets on a fox hunt. Good for up to 180 mph, the Range Rover Sport SV gets the supercar treatment with a lightweight carbon fiber wheel option and enormous eight-piston Brembo calipers to clamp its carbon ceramic brake rotors. Quad tailpipes aside, the Range Rover SV is built to exemplify Land Rover luxury. Its bolstered front bucket seats carry components that complete its 29-speaker surround sound system and its knob-less infotainment touchscreen has gone fully digital. Despite it being nearly an inch lower than other Range Rover Sports, there's simply nothing down to earth about this high-performance utility vehicle.
What's New for 2024?
The Range Rover Sport SV is a completely new iteration of performance-luxury motoring from Land Rover for 2024. Taking pages out of the playbook of a supercar, the Range Rover Sport SV joins the 600-hp club, gets a carbon-fiber wheel option, carbon ceramic brakes, and uses a specially tuned air suspension to keep it steady across road-course curbing. It will likely overpower its all-season tires immediately. The Range Rover Sport SV is not for the timid.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
The price of the 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SV starts at $181.775.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
Under the bonnet lays a righteous 626-hp twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 engine with 553 pound-feet of torque mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Range Rover Sport SV is all-wheel drive, and Land Rover says its leap to 60 mph takes just 3.6 seconds. After driving one on a track in Portugal, we believe it. Depending on the drive mode, the SV can sit at nearly an inch lower than other Range Rover Sports as part of its new 6D Dynamic suspension system. Instead of conventional anti-roll bars, the SV uses hydraulic dampers and its airbag suspension to reduce body roll. To handle life's lefts and rights, the SV has all-wheel steering and brake-based torque vectoring. With a top speed of 180 mph, the Range Rover SV promises to boast performance that will likely be restricted by the common sense of the person helming it rather than by the limits of its all-season Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. There are optional 23-inch carbon fiber wheels (said to save 20 pounds per corner) which are wrapped wide 305s on the rear wheels and 285s up front. To stop all the meat is a set of optional Brembo carbon ceramic brake discs that measure 17.3 inches up front and 15.3 inches in the rear.

Introducing the 2024 BYD Yangwang U8: A Revolutionary Electric Vehicle for Eco-Conscious Drivers
The Yangwang U8 is a 1,184bhp plug-in hybrid SUV that can float on water
BYD’s posh sub-brand unveils the U8 Premium Edition in China. Will do 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds (on land)
Earlier this year we brought you news of the Yangwang U9 – an all-electric Chinese supercar that used its fancy suspension tech to bunny hop and drive safely on just three wheels. At the time we thought that was the most bonkers thing we’d see all year, but now we’re welcoming the Yangwang U8 to the world.
The second car to be shown off by BYD’s posh sub-brand, the U8 is an electric SUV that uses four motors – one for each wheel – and some very fancy independent torque vectoring to put 1,184bhp down on the road. As a result, the U8 will do 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds and can spin all four wheels to do proper tank turns. Should be rather useful on the school run. There’s something called the ‘DiSus-P Intelligent Hydraulic Body Control System’ too which, in a similar manner to the U9 supercar, allows you to drive on three wheels in the event of a tyre blowout.
Oh, and just in case you were worried about range, there’s also a 2.0-litre turbo engine on board to act as a range extender, so with a full tank of petrol and juiced up batteries you’ll manage 621 miles without a stop.
Remarkably, we’re told that deliveries will start in China in October this year. For those not paying attention, that’s currently five days away. How on earth?
Anyway, those first deliveries will be of the U8 Premium Edition, which is set to cost over £123,000 in Yangwang’s home market. Looks like that’ll get all of the headline tech as standard though, including a rather remarkable ‘emergency flotation’ function that ensures the U8 can float on water for up to 30 minutes. Yep, this giant range-extender SUV can literally become a boat.
Designed to keep you safe in flash floods or to allow you to cross rivers on off-road adventures, the system apparently kills the engine, closes the windows and opens the sunroof before propelling you along at 1.8mph by spinning its wheels. Bonkers.
Back in the normal electric SUV world, the U8 will fast charge at up to 110kW to allow for a 30 to 80 per cent top-up in 18 minutes. Or if you’re feeling lazy and can’t be bothered to faff around with cables, there are three wireless charging pads underneath that allow for 50kW charging. It also uses vehicle-to-load capabilities to dispense charge to other devices at 6kW.
The interior is crammed full of Nappa leather, sapele wood, speakers and many, many screens. Seriously, just check out how many displays are in there. The dash alone features a 12.8-inch OLED central screen and two 23.6-inch displays either side.

2024 Toyota C-HR: Unveiling Innovation and Performance in the Compact SUV Segment
Toyota C-HR review
£31,060 - £46,535
“If you like the mad looks of this second-generation C-HR, there's very little else to count against it”
Good stuff
Stands out, more practical than it looks, good control layout and screens, tidy road manners
Bad stuff
Visibility poor in the back, stay away if you dislike hybrids
What is it?
This is the second generation of Toyota’s C-HR, a mid-size crossover that started life in 2017 as a funky SUV commissioned by Toyota boss Akio Toyoda as a sort of experiment to see what the company could do. A toe in the water, with no expectation of how it might sell.
Much to the company’s own surprise it sold in far bigger numbers than expected. Up to 330,000 or so C-HRs a year rolled out globally, with customers sold on the blend of sensible shoes powertrains and funky styling.
Bit more pressure for the second one...
You’d think so, but clearly Toyota hasn’t felt the need to play it safe. If anything, the newer one is even more out there than the original. Which is good, because it means the car stands out in a heavily congested part of the car market that includes the Nissan Qashqai, Seat Ateca, Citroen C3 Aircross and Ford Puma.
It slots into the Toyota range above the Aygo X and Yaris Cross. But it's smaller than the RAV4, which is quite a chunky thing these days. In most of the world there's now a thing called Corolla Cross, which is the same size as the C-HR but has a boxier outline for more interior space and outward vision.
It looks... pretty good.
It does, doesn’t it? The C-HR hits all the latest trends to go for a full house in design bingo: two-tone paints, contrasting roof, slimline LED headlights, aero-led styling and even this season’s must-have full-width rear light bar. Better aero helps economy at motorway speeds. But not much, because the frontal area has grown, and the wheels now go up to 20 inches.
Toyota says the C-HR is designed for people "who are not afraid to stand out". The irony of course of the C-HR’s ‘something a bit different’ schtick is that there are thousands of other people feeling equally individual behind the wheel of their mass market SUVs from one of the world’s largest carmakers.
Is it hybrid only now?
All C-HRs are electrified now, but just one has a plug. There are both 1.8- and 2.0-litre engines available as prime movers, just as with the Corolla, with the regular Toyota hybrid system. Boosted by their motors at full throttle, they give total system outputs of 138 and 193bhp.
There’s no EV option, but you can get a plug-in hybrid (or at least, you will get the option when it goes on sale later in 2024). It has the same 2.0 engine, but because the electrical system is more juiced up, you've got a total of 223bhp.
What’s it like inside?
The interior is jazzed up from what we’d usually expect inside a Toyota. The 50 shades of grey plastic have been given fancy new textures and patterns, and there’s certainly a better variety of material inside. It feels more premium than before.
Maybe most important for modernising the car, the instrument and touchscreens are about two full generations on from the old car's. Toyota screens were pretty ugly before but they're up to par now.
It looks a bit cramped though.
The sloping roofline does impinge on headroom for tall adults in the back. And the small side glass means this isn't the perfect transport for kids prone to car sickness, or indeed those who like to look out of the window. But the actual legroom and bootspace aren't bad.

Unveiling the Power and Performance of the 2024 Porsche Cayenne S V8: A Luxury SUV Experience
2024 Porsche Cayenne First Drive: The Excellent One-Car Solution
No surprise, Porsche continues to find ways to improve its already great Cayenne SUV.
Maybe it's the parking situation, maybe it's finances, or maybe you're just practical. Whatever the reason, plenty of folks are looking for one car that can do everything, and it's hard to find a better one-car solution than the 2024 Porsche Cayenne.
Of course, we already knew the refreshed Cayenne was going to be good. We drove a late-stage prototype nine months ago that may as well have been the finished product but for the light camouflage livery it carried. Indeed, little has changed since then.
Play It Again, Stephan
Everything we experienced behind the wheel of the production version of the 2024 Porsche Cayenne SUV validated our initial impressions of the prototypes. Porsche engineers refined the Cayenne's purpose and personality to a singular essence that permeates every trim level and powertrain. Every version of this extensively refreshed model drives the same, even with some getting more power and others getting better fuel economy. But they are otherwise identical in character.
Provided to us for this review were two of the most interesting powertrains available at launch, the revamped Cayenne E-Hybrid plug-in hybrid (PHEV) V-6 and the once again V-8-powered Cayenne S (now with twin turbos). Both were equipped with optional air springs and rear-wheel steering along with the standard electronically adjustable shock absorbers. Somewhat unusually, these two 2024 Porsche Cayenne models make about the same power—463 hp for the PHEV and 468 hp for the V-8-and illustrate exactly what we're talking about.
Forget about differences in curb weights and what's under the hood. What we wrote five months ago about those prototypes is just as true today. "It's in the movements," we said, "in the way these 2024 Porsche Cayennes react when you first turn into a corner and the way the weight transfers and the body rolls. It's all very deliberately and highly controlled, like a dancer—the manner in which the weight settles on the outside wheels and the suspension crouches, takes a set, and eventually releases as you exit the turn. Each Cayenne does it the same way, so much so that the driver of a base model can easily keep up with the driver of a Turbo GT who isn't using enough throttle."
The only real difference we detected between the prototypes and the finished Cayennes was in the rear-steering tuning. Back in January, we wrote the system was practically invisible but it's a bit more noticeable now in the tightest corners when you're really pushing the car hard. There's a slight sensation of the rear end moving in an abnormal way, almost like a hint of oversteer when you fling the Cayenne into a corner like it's a tall 911. It never actually gets loose (at either end), but it certainly makes the car feel livelier than you'd expect of an SUV.
What's on the Inside Counts
Far more than the new engine and nose job, customers are going to have thoughts about the interior. If they've spent time in a Porsche Taycan, they'll recognize it, but otherwise it's going to be a whole new experience. Nearly everything you look at and touch is new, save the twin grab-handles on the center console.
The shifter is the one that gets people. Now a chunky toggle switch and push-button combo on the dashboard, it hides easily behind the smaller 911-inspired steering wheel. You'll forget where it is at least one time, maybe more, during your test drive.
Moving it there opened up lots of space on the center console, though we're not sold on how that space is used. The new climate-control panel takes up a good chunk of the area and features a mix of mechanical and touch controls that seem more like a triumph of design than of great function. The small bins ahead of and behind it seem more like empty spaces than purposefully designed ones, but at least the forward one has a wireless phone charger.
The proliferation of screens on the dashboard itself will read as either tech-forward or tech for tech's sake, depending on the buyer. The digital instrument cluster is crisp and bright despite being unshaded, and it has many different screens that are a bit confusing to scroll through and also disappointingly lacking when it comes to customizing the content shown on them. Same goes for the head-up display.

Unveiling the Power and Luxury of the 2024 BMW M850i 8 Series: A Closer Look
2024 BMW 8-Series Gran Coupe
Starting at $91.795
Highs: Slick styling, potent turbocharged engines, added sensibility of four doors.
Lows: Tall folks may feel pinched in the back seat, the hot V-8 engine is an expensive option, steering lacks road feel.
Verdict: The 8-series Gran Coupe offers plenty of presence to augment its turbo muscle.
Overview
BMW didn't invent the four-door coupe body style, but its 2024 8-series Gran Coupe is one of the best-looking examples we can think of. Its flowing lines and dramatic fastback roofline cut an elegant silhouette whether it's cruising or parked. A silky-smooth turbocharged six-cylinder engine is standard, but a honking twin-turbo V-8 is available if you want more muscle. Both are quick, dispatching the big sedan to 60 mph in 4.7 and 3.0 seconds, respectively. The downside of the 8-series' dramatic exterior styling, though, is a rear seat that's tight for tall passengers—but that's true of its rivals as well. Speaking of which, the 8-series runs in a class of excellent sports sedans that includes the Audi S7, the Porsche Panamera, and the Mercedes-AMG GT four-door, all of which offer similar performance and panache.
What's New for 2024?
BMW hasn't changed a thing on the 8-series Gran Coupe for 2024 and it rolls into the new year the same stylish and luxurious sedan it was last year.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
The price of the 2024 BMW 8-series Gran Coupe starts at $91.795 and goes up to $150.295 depending on the trim and options.
840i: $91,795
M850i: $107,295
ALPINA B8: $150,295
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
A smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission and a pair of velvety engines highlight the 8-series Gran Coupe. The 840i features a 335-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder powertrain that feeds either rear- or all-wheel drive. The M850i boasts a 523-hp twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 and standard all-wheel drive. While the base engine doesn't pack the wallop that the V-8 does, it's still plenty quick and produces a pleasant timbre when rushed. Those looking for more substantial thrust won't be disappointed by the M850i, which has a detuned version of the engine in the BMW M8 Gran Coupe (reviewed separately) that makes up to 617 ponies. The Alpina B8 model nearly matches the M8 Gran Coupe with a 612-hp version of the twin-turbo V-8; BMW claims it's capable of a zero-to-60-mph time of just 3.3 seconds. All of the 8s provide a splendid ride and playful handling responses. While the steering delivers little feedback when the road turns twisty, the big Bimmer compensates with strong brakes and the aforementioned powertrain refinement.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
Like the two-door 8-series coupe and convertible, the Gran Coupe's interior is lavishly outfitted—albeit sedately styled. All models have a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, customizable ambient lighting, a large head-up display, leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and wireless charging. The cabin can be further upgraded with fancier headliners, glass switchgear, and multifunctional seats with increased adjustability. The driving position is very comfortable thanks to a well-placed dead pedal. Forward visibility is excellent, but the rearward view through the steeply angled fastback's glass is restricted. Legroom is more generous in the back seat of the Gran Coupe than in its two-door counterparts but—thanks to the car's sharply angled roofline—headroom is tighter. The four-door 8-series is also more practical than its coupe sibling. We managed to fit up to 15 carry-on suitcases inside with its rear seat stowed versus the 11 total bags in the coupe. Both body styles held five suitcases in their trunks, while the convertible held one fewer for four total.

Unveiling the 2024 Maserati MC20: A High-Performance Masterpiece!
2023 Maserati MC20 Cielo First Drive: Touch the Sky and Come Alive
Maserati drops the top on its mid-engine supercar to create an exotic convertible you can drive every day.
"Cielo." It means "sky" in Italian. Such is the lyrical beauty of the Italian language, Maserati didn't need to think beyond the prosaic to come up with a great-sounding name for the convertible version of its mid-engine supercar: the 2023 MC20 Cielo. It's worked before: This is, remember, the company that calls its four-door sedan, simply, the Quattroporte. Plain old English "Four Door" somehow doesn't conjure the same romantic elegance.
Not that the MC20 needs any more romance. In coupé form, Maserati's first mid-engine supercar in decades is a beguiling machine, a confident and capable car powered by one of the most charismatic high-performance V-6 engines of the modern era—an engine designed and engineered in-house at Maserati. It's not quite a Ferrari 296GTB and not quite a Lamborghini Huracán, but something all its own: a sports car with a soupçon of grand turismo evident in the mix that makes it as easy and comfortable to drive every day as a C8 Corvette.
The Good Bits Haven't Changed
The stuff we like about the MC20 is all there in the 2023 Maserati MC20 Cielo. The output of the twin-turbo dry-sump Nettuno V-6—Nettuno is Italian for Neptune, the ancient Roman god of the sea whose trident inspired the Maserati logo—remains unchanged at 621 hp at 7,500 rpm and 538 lb-ft of torque from 3,000 to 5,500 rpm. It drives the rear wheels through the same slick eight-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission.
Performance is unchanged, too. The small carmaker claims the 2023 Maserati MC20 Cielo will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in about 2.7 seconds, just like the coupe. Claimed top speed is similarly just more than 200 mph.
As with the coupe, one of the keys to the MC20 Cielo's performance is its relatively low overall mass. The MC20 coupe's central carbon-fiber monocoque is made up of 57 molded pieces. Aluminum structures bolted to the front and rear of the monocoque anchor the front suspension and steering bits, as well as the rear suspension and V-6 engine and transmission assembly.
Cleverly, the monocoque was designed from the outset to facilitate a convertible version with only minor changes. As a result, the MC20 Cielo weighs only 143 pounds more than the MC20 coupe; the weight increase is pretty much all down to the glass roof and the mechanisms that stow it within/retrieve it from a compartment above the engine, in just 12 seconds.
The 2023 Maserati MC20 Cielo also shares its compact multilink suspension and giant Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes with the coupe, but it boasts several detail changes to the chassis setup. Rear suspension stiffness, for example, increased slightly to allow for the extra mass of the retractable roof to rest on the rear axle, and the e-differential is recalibrated to be less reactive, easing the load on the steering.
The default GT drive mode is also recalibrated to give a slightly softer, smoother ride at cruising speeds, but this is not—as in the case of many coupe-based convertibles—to compensate for the loss of rigidity that comes with removing the roof, says Maserati vehicle line executive Federico Landini: "We wanted the car to have a slightly different character."
It's Not the Soft Option
That's not to say the 2023 Maserati MC20 Cielo is the soft option, a cruisy-schmoozy take on Maserati's mid-engine supercar. Far from it. Yes, the low-speed ride in GT mode is impressively compliant, but it's surprisingly syrupy in the coupe, too. And when you twist the glass-topped rotary controller on the center console into Sport or Corsa mode, the MC20 Cielo tells you it's ready to play, the suspension stiffening its sinews and the Nettuno V-6 clearing its throat.
Nail the gas, and the MC20 Cielo slingshots down the road. The Nettuno is an engine of truly impressive range, crisp and responsive at low to middling revs yet searingly relentless in its power delivery from 6,000 rpm all the way to the 8,000-rpm redline, its baritone rumble morphing into an edgy snarl. It doesn't feel or sound like a turbocharged engine.

2023 Mercedes Maybach S580: Luxury, Performance, and Innovation Unveiled
2023 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class
Starting at $194.550
Overview
Ultimate luxury cars such as the 2023 Mercedes-Maybach S-class offer the world's wealthiest a place to rest their weary heads on the commute between their rooftop helipad and their Hamptons estate. These ultra-high-net-worth individuals can choose between twin-turbo V-8 or V-12 powertrains and indulge in a supremely spacious and superbly posh cabin. Believe it or not, the Maybach's styling is rather subtle compared to flashier entrants in the ultra-luxury category, including the blinged-out Rolls-Royce Phantom and Ghost. This more subdued look allows the S-class to navigate through traffic without drawing unwanted attention, which is something you want if you're a particularly camera-shy billionaire. The rear seat is the place to be, especially if the S-class is equipped with optional reclining and massaging VIP seats. But Maybach takes care of the chauffeur, too, with fine leather upholstery, a comfortable driving position, and a host of high-tech infotainment features.
What's New for 2023?
Two fashion-forward special editions will be offered on the Maybach S-class for 2023, starting with a limited-edition S680 by Virgil Abloh, which is a tribute to the late fashion designer. He had collaborated with Mercedes-Maybach on concept vehicles in the past, but this production model—which will be limited to just 150 examples—is street ready. The black-and-tan color scheme pays homage to the Project Maybach concept car with cool monoblock wheels rendered in the same tan color. The two-tone theme continues throughout the car's luxurious interior. The second special edition, also limited to just 150 examples, is the Haute Voiture. The Haute Voiture is offered only in S680 form and features a two-tone blue and rose-gold exterior paint with matching monoblock wheels. The cabin is decked out with bouclé upholstery, rose gold accents, linen and mohair floor mats, a patterned headliner, and matching luggage.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
S580 4Matic: $194,550
S680 4Matic: $230,150
S680 by Virgil Abloh: $250,000 (est)
S680 Haute Voiture: $350,000 (est)
But that's not really the most impressive thing about the Maybach S-class. An air suspension and an active sound cancellation system are both standard in the new model, which helps the car deliver a silky, ultra-quiet ride; the S-class also offers rear-wheel steering which should help with navigating this big sedan through tight city streets.
Advertisement - Continue Reading Below

2024 Range Rover SV: Unveiling the Ultimate Luxury SUV Experience
Overview
The Range Rover has been the SUV of choice for celebrities and wealthy elites for decades, but even though it pampers its passengers like a luxury car it still offers off-road capability that means it can venture well off the red carpet. All models come with all-wheel drive, an adjustable air suspension, and plenty of ground clearance. You can choose between inline-six, plug-in-hybrid, and V-8 powertrains. You can also deck the Range Rover out with all manner of luxury features, including massaging seats in both rows, rear bucket seats, power-deployable rear-seat tray tables, and a beverage chiller. No matter which version you choose you'll pay a six-figure price, which means the Range Rover automatically costs more than entry-level versions of rivals such as the Cadillac Escalade, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, and the Mercedes-Benz GLS-class. But it's exactly all of this obvious extravagance that attracts the Range Rover's image-obsessed buyers, and after sampling several variants of this latest generation of the luxury SUV, we can see why.
What's New for 2024?
It's still early in the Range Rover's fifth generation, but already Land Rover has tweaked the powertrain lineup for 2024. The plug-in-hybrid P440e has been replaced with a more powerful P550e which makes 542 horsepower. P400 and P530 models see no changes to their horsepower ratings, but the top-spec SV model is now powered by a 606-hp V-8 engine that wears the P615 moniker. Elsewhere, Land Rover has introduced a new customization service called SV Bespoke which provides buyers more opportunities for personalization when building their dream Range Rover. To help draw attention to its SV Bespoke program, Land Rover revealed an ultra-exclusive Carmel Edition model during the 2023 Monterey Car Week event in California. The $371,475 special edition features Cream Ash Burr and white ceramic interior trim, pearl oyster accents, two-tone leather upholstery, specially-embroidered cushions, and unique 23-inch wheels with white inserts. The result is fairly spectacular; only seven will be built.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
P400 SE: $108,875
P530 SE: $131,750
P550e Autobiography: $142,575
P530 Autobiography: $167,750
P615 SV: $210,475
Carmel Edition: $371,475
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The Range Rover is available with a quartet of powertrains, starting with a turbocharged inline-six with a 48-volt hybrid system dubbed P400 that develops 395 horsepower. During our initial test drive, it proved to be silky-smooth and provided adequate pep to tug the large Range Rover around. A 523-hp twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 engine—Land Rover calls it P530—is even perkier and cranks up the Range Rover's towing capacity to 8200 pounds. At our test track, the P530 hustled the Range Rover to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds; the P400 did it in 5.5 seconds. A 542-hp plug-in hybrid option—called P550e—is also available but only on the short wheelbase Autobiography trim, and the range-topping SV comes with a 606-hp V-8 called P615. Our long-wheelbase P400 test vehicle managed to hit 60 mph in a fairly brisk 5.5 seconds while the short-wheelbase P530 we tested did it in just 4.3 seconds....
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
As with past generations of the Range Rover, this new generation model offers a plush interior decked out with rich leathers and woods, but buyers who want a more sustainable cabin can now opt for a new leather-free option, which subs-in wool or other textiles. The interior can be arranged to seat four, five, or seven depending on configuration and wheelbase. The third row, even in long-wheelbase trims, may not fit tall adults as the headroom there is somewhat limited, but shorter riders and kids will find it nearly as comfortable as the second row. An optional motorized divider for the cargo area helps keep things from moving around too much during travel, and the Range Rover's split rear liftgate can be used as convenient and comfortable.

2024 Bentley Continental GT Speed Review: Luxury and Power Redefined
2024 Bentley Continental GT
Starting at $240.000 est
Highs: Artful exterior design, the cabin is a delight to the senses, world-class ride and handling balance.
Lows: Fuel efficiency isn't a priority, few driver-assistance features are standard, arm-and-a-leg price tag.
Verdict: Yeah, it costs a lot, but the Continental GT is a two-door grand tourer that's worth every penny.
Overview
Covering long hauls on the road behind the wheel of the 2024 Bentley Continental GT feels like mere jaunts across town thanks to this grand tourer's deluxe cabin and just-right suspension tuning. Offered in your choice of either a coupe or a softtop convertible, the Continental GT is styled to stand out while you melt into its softly padded seats. Under the hood is either a V-8 or W-12 engine, both supplemented by twin turbochargers for massive power. In either case, the Continental GT never wants for power, and while it can corner like a sports car, it also easily hides road imperfections when the day calls for comfortable cruising. As expected from the storied British brand, the Conti can be ordered to your exact specification through the Mulliner coachbuilding division. But even if you opt for an off-the-shelf model, you'll still get a beautifully designed luxury car lined with premium materials and packed with desirable features.
What's New for 2024?
Styling tweaks for the 2024 Continental GT include new 22-inch wheel options for the Azure trim, dark gray exterior detailing on the Speed model, and a new optional dark-tinted finish for the aluminum grille trim. Inside, the Azure models come with lofted quilting on the seats and door panels. All models also come with plusher floor mats made from wool. Engine, Transmission, and Performance
Updated versions of the existing V-8 and W-12 engines that powered the previous-generation Continental GT provide muscle-car performance. Our testing revealed that the 4.0-liter V-8, which makes 542 horses, can launch the 4926-pound coupe to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. The more expensive 6.0-liter W-12 engine produces 626 horsepower in non-Speed models and can motivate a coupe to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds. The same engine has been tuned up to 650 hp in the Speed model, and we estimate it can reach 60 in as little as 3.1 seconds. Both engines work through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that snaps off quick, smooth shifts. Customers can order the coupe or convertible with either engine. And all Continental GTs come with an all-wheel-drive system standard, which helps put their prodigious power to the road absent any drama.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
We expect a luxurious cabin from anything wearing the Bentley badge, and this two-door is no different. The interior is swathed in luscious, aromatic leather and fine wood veneers, and nearly everything about the Continental GT is customizable—for a price, of course. Bentley's designers thought every design detail through, and each time behind the wheel reveals a surprising detail, such as expertly knurled control knobs and double-stitched diamond-pattern seat trim. Although the Continental GT technically has seatbelts for four occupants, we'd suggest you avoid using the rear seat for hauling adult-size people since both leg- and headroom are limited. In our testing, we were able to fit five carry-on suitcases in the Continental's trunk—plenty of space for a weekend away with your favorite travel companion.

Unveiling the All-New Aston Martin DBX (2024) - Luxury, Performance, and Innovation
2024 Aston Martin DBX
Starting at $200.086
Highs: Stunning exterior and interior, great to drive for an SUV, wider bandwidth than other Astons.
Lows: Regular model is slower than rivals, brake pedal is as soft as Charmin, where are all the modern driver assists?
Verdict: The DBX has unique traits not found on other Astons—or most other SUVs, for that matter.
What's New for 2024?
The DBX lineup carries over unchanged for the 2024 model year.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
DBX: $200,086
DBX 707: $245,086
Aston Martin provides an impressive number of personalization options for the DBX, especially through its Q customization service. The company's online configurator shows several different appearance packages. We're partial to the standard DBX with the Accelerate interior theme, with its mix of leather and faux suede and the Sports Plus seats. On the outside, we'd choose the pretty Minotaur Green paint as well as the 22-inch black-and-bronze Ribbon wheels. We'd also opt for the tow package, the power tailgate, and the Sports Exhaust system that lets us better enjoy the engine's music.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The regular DBX is powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine supplied by Mercedes-AMG. The engine makes 542 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque and pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission, also supplied by Mercedes. The DBX 707 features a revised version of the AMG powertrain that generates 697 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque. Its nine-speed automatic uses a wet-clutch pack instead of the torque converter used by the standard transmission. While the DBX is fundamentally rear-wheel drive, a center transfer case sends torque to the front axle when slippage is detected at the rear. It also has a limited-slip rear differential and can tow up to 5940 pounds. Adaptive dampers and height-adjustable air springs come standard on the Aston—a boon for off-road adventuring. The DBX we tested rushed to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, which is respectable for a hot SUV, but the Lamborghini Urus and other rivals are notably quicker. The DBX 707 was much quicker and hit 60 mph in 3.1 seconds. The version we drove on England's best roads showcased the engine's lusty soundtrack and the transmission's unobtrusive operation. Thanks to a diverse set of drive modes, its chassis demonstrated a broad range of demeanors, from refined and relaxed to responsive and playful. Despite its short 157-foot stop from 70 mph, the ute suffered from an unresponsive brake pedal.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The DBX shares a lot of its switchgear with the rest of the Aston Martin family. The cabin is covered in attractively stitched leather, soft-touch surfaces, and a microsuede headliner. The ute comes standard with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, customizable ambient lighting, three-zone climate control, and heated front and rear seats. Desirable options include ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a variety of even fancier cabin materials. Rear-seat space is ample, with plenty of knee and headroom for adults. There's a good amount of cargo volume, too, with 22 cubic feet of space behind the rear seat and 54 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.

2023 Porsche Macan Review: Unveiling the Next-Level Performance and Luxury
2023 Porsche Macan
Starting at $58.950
Highs Joyful driving demeanor, perky turbocharged engines, uniquely Porsche exterior design.
Lows Base interior accoutrements are too basic, rear seat isn't very spacious, doesn't haul as much cargo as some rivals.
Verdict The Macan is one of our favorite SUVs mainly because it adheres to Porsche's sporting ethos while providing extra space for passengers and gear.
Overview
Porsche's SUV lineup began with the mid-size Cayenne, but the compact Macan delivers a heartier helping of the brand's sporting ethos while still offering more space for people and cargo than a sports car. The Macan's snappy shifts and exciting ride earned it a place on our list of 10Best Trucks and SUVs for 2023. A turbocharged four-cylinder is standard, but the S model is equipped with a significantly more powerful twin-turbo V-6 engine. The high-performance GTS trim is even more powerful, but we review that one separately. Handling is crisp, and all Macan models provide a joyful driving demeanor that even the most hardened SUV detractors will appreciate. This is why it's one of our favorite crossovers. Rivals such as the BMW X3 or Genesis GV70 offer more luxury equipment as standard, but the Macan stands alone as an upscale, compact SUV that satisfies its driver first and fulfills its other missions second.
What's New for 2023?
Porsche has added a Macan T trim to the lineup which features an adaptive suspension system as well as the brand's popular Sport Chrono package, which includes a set of driving modes and a launch-control feature. The Macan T is powered by the base Macan's 261-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine; all-wheel drive is standard as on the rest of the lineup.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
Given the Macan's athletic character, we'd skip the base model and go straight for the V-6-powered S, which brings a meaningful bump in performance. Standard features include a 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-speaker audio system, and LED headlights. We'd also splurge a little for the Premium package for its heated front and rear seats, adaptive headlights, and an upgraded 14-speaker audio system. The Sport Chrono pack has our attention, too, for its driver-adjustable drive modes and launch-control feature.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
With the base turbo four-cylinder, the Macan bounds to 60 mph in just 5.0 seconds. It feels sprightly around town, but speed freaks will want to upgrade to the twin-turbo V-6–powered S model. At our test track, the Macan S was only a few seconds behind the more powerful GTS with a 3.8-second zero-to-60-mph time. The Macan S is significantly quicker than the times posted by the Audi SQ5 and Jaguar F-Pace S. An SUV probably doesn't need to launch off the line as quickly as that, but we sure appreciate it. Quickness is important in a crossover with sporting intentions, but we wouldn't be nearly as impressed with the Macan if it weren't for its all-around competence on the road. It feels remarkably like a sports sedan. The ride is wonderfully smooth and carefully controlled, and it's rare for a jolt from the pavement to make itself known to the driver. The steering is a tad lighter than it is in Porsche's sports cars, but it's still super accurate and pleasantly tactile.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
The most efficient Macan, according to the EPA, is the base model with the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which is rated for 19 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. The Macan S, which is powered by the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V-6, is rated for 17 mpg city and 23-mpg highway. On our 75-mph real-world highway fuel-economy loop, the Macan S averaged 26 mpg, bettering its highway figure by 3 mpg. For more information about the Macan's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website.

2023 Range Rover Autobiography: Luxury and Performance Unveiled
2024 Land Rover Range Rover
Starting at $108.750
Highs Looks like money, polished and posh interior, plenty of powertrain options.
Lows Priced for the gods, plug-in hybrid limited to Autobiography trim, third-row space is tight.
Verdict Comfortable enough for a cross-continent tour and rugged enough for a trail ride, the Range Rover is a jack-of-all-trades SUV with a price tag to match.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
P400 SE: $108,750
P530 SE: $131,750
P550e Autobiography: $142,450
P530 Autobiography: $167,750
P615 SV: $210,350
We'd recommend opting for the mid-range Autobiography model, which adds several sought-after items that luxury buyers will appreciate. For example, the Autobiography comes standard with a 1600-watt Meridian stereo system featuring headrest-mounted speakers and active noise cancellation. The Range Rover will be offered in both short- and long-wheelbase body styles, and we suggest going for the latter since it creates room for a third row of seats and provides a more generous cargo area.
Our long-wheelbase P400 test vehicle managed to hit 60 mph in a fairly brisk 5.5 seconds while the short-wheelbase P530 we tested did it in just 4.3 seconds. The Range Rover's ride is suitably plush and, with its adjustable air suspension set to Comfort mode, it virtually floats down the road. Turning the dial to Dynamic mode firms things up some, but the big Rover still aims for a comfort-first mission.

2023 BMW XM: Unveiling the Future of Luxury SUVs
2023 BMW XM
Starting at $159.995
Highs High-end cabin finishings, big-power twin-turbo V-8, reasonable amount of electric driving range.
Lows Love-it-or-hate-it styling, ride could be more composed, other performance SUVs are quicker.
Verdict When you set BMW's M division loose to create a bespoke performance SUV, the end result is a large crossover that can almost keep pace with an M3.
Overview
BMW's M performance division, purveyor of land rockets like the M3 and M5 sedans, has dropped a hot-rod SUV on the tall-speedster class. Slotting above the three-row X7 in BMW's SUV lineup, the new XM is an all-new two-row crossover with serious sporting intentions. The 2023 XM's styling is inspired by the XM Concept from 2021. Although toned down, it's still an aggressive design with gaping kidney-shaped grille openings, stacked tailpipes, and a slightly sloped roof that hints at a fastback shape. Under the hood is a 644-hp plug-in hybrid powertrain that gets its muscle from a twin-turbocharged V-8. About 30 miles of electric-only driving should be possible with a fully charged battery but it's the XM's performance potential that has our interest piqued.
What's New for 2023?
The XM is a new model for the BMW lineup and is slated to appear in showrooms in early 2023.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
XM: $159,995
The XM's starting price is high, but it does come loaded with luxury features, including leather upholstery, huge 23-inch wheels, a cool curved infotainment display, and a host of driver-assistance features. A limited-edition Label Red model will join the lineup for the 2024 model year, and BMW says it'll offer an even more powerful 738-hp version of the XM's powertrain to accompany its unique interior and exterior styling elements.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
A twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 isn't new to the BMW powertrain portfolio but in the XM it's partnered with an electric motor and a battery pack to create a whopping 644 horsepower. During our first test drive, we noted the powertrain's immediate punch and estimated that it should get the XM to 60 mph in about 3.8 seconds, but when we got it on our home turf for testing, it surprised us with a 3.4-second leap to 60 mph. That puts the XM at a disadvantage—albeit only a slight one—when compared to other performance SUVs such as the Lamborghini Urus and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, both of which delivered zero-to-60-mph times of 3.2 seconds in our testing. The XM uses a coil-spring suspension system that's augmented by adaptive dampers and active anti-roll bars. The result isn't as compliant and composed as it would be had BMW chosen to offer an air suspension, but in the Comfort driving mode, the ride is far from punishing. When set to Sport, the XM's handling is responsive and eager which makes it good fun on a twisty road.
Range, Charging, and Battery Life
The XM's 25.7-kWh battery pack is said to be good for about 30 miles of electric-only range per charge, and we managed to get close in our testing with a result of 29 miles. BMW says the XM's onboard charger is capable of juicing the battery at up to 7.4 kW and should be able to charge up to 100 percent in a little over three hours.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
The EPA says the XM is good for only 12 mpg city and 17 mpg highway despite its status as a plug-in hybrid. On our 75-mph highway fuel economy route, the XM bested its EPA estimate by returning 20 mpg when going solely by its gasoline engine; when factoring in the 29 miles or so we drove on electric power its result is an even more palatable 49 MPGe. For more information about the XM's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
Everything about the XM's cabin is high-end, including its optional vintage-look leather upholstery that was first shown on the concept car. The XM's cabin is strictly a two-row affair, and in place of a large panoramic sunroof, the XM can be had with a geometric-patterned faux-suede headliner that features fiber-optic lighting that's used to dramatic effect. An optional audio upgrade adds a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System with tweeters that illuminate.

2024 Porsche Cayenne: Unveiling the Ultimate Luxury SUV Experience
2024 Porsche Cayenne
Starting at $80.850
Highs Punchy engine options, handles like a sports sedan, burly maximum towing capacity.
Lows Adding luxury items drives the price way up, big wheels create a flinty ride, touchy brakes.
Verdict Over the years, the Cayenne has turned from a Porsche enthusiast's nightmare—incorrectly symbolizing the end of brand's sports-car era—to a respected performance SUV.
Overview
Leaning on its decades-long legacy of sports car manufacturing, Porsche imbues each of its vehicles—including SUVs like the 2024 Cayenne—with a fun-to-drive nature that's hard for rivals to match. Although the Cayenne is a mid-size SUV, it feels light on its feet in corners thanks to an expertly tuned chassis. It's also quick, especially with one of its high-output powertrains that include an available plug-in hybrid and a twin-turbo V-8. Porsche's largest SUV is also luxurious, with a refined ride, a quiet cabin, and plenty of tech and convenience features. While it may not outperform a 911 Turbo, the Cayenne offers plenty of athleticism to satisfy its driver while also providing ample space for people and cargo.
What's New for 2024?
The Cayenne receives a styling refresh this year, albeit a mild one. Tweaks to the exterior require a keen eye but inside, the Cayenne gets a new dashboard design with more digital real estate, a new steering wheel on loan from the 911 sports car, and a new toggle-type shift lever mounted on the dashboard. Porsche has upped the ante on its performance across the board, too. The base model gets 13 more horsepower than before, while the E-Hybrid gains 9 hp. The S trim gets the biggest boost, as it drops its twin-turbo 2.9-liter V-6 for a 468-hp twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
Cayenne: $80,850
Cayenne E-Hybrid: $93,350
Cayenne S: $97,350
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
Porsche will let you spec the Cayenne in several ways, starting with a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 that makes 348 horsepower. The plug-in hybrid (called the E-Hybrid) marries an electric motor and a turbocharged V-6 for a combined 463 horsepower. The Cayenne S boasts a 468-hp twin-turbo V-8 with a great-sounding exhaust note and breathtaking acceleration. We expect a range-topping GTS trim with even more power, but Porsche hasn't confirmed that model just yet. All engines pair with an astute eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. While making anything that weighs more than two tons move gracefully is challenging, the engineers in Stuttgart were successful with the Cayenne. When we were able to sample a Cayenne S and found it just as athletic and refined as last year's model. Adaptive dampers are now standard across the Cayenne lineup, and most trims will have additional performance options that include an adjustable air suspension, four-wheel steering for improved maneuverability, and active anti-roll bars for flatter cornering.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
Inside, the 2024 Cayenne gets a new dashboard design with more screens and a look that's inspired by the Taycan EV sedan. The SUV's steering wheel has been replaced by one borrowed from the 911 sports car, and the gauge cluster is now fully digital. A toggle shifter is mounted on the dashboard, freeing up space on the center console for a storage nook. Porsche essentially provides a blank canvas inside the Cayenne for customers to personalize as they see fit. Everything from the interior trim to the seatbelt colors and the surface materials can be individually selected, almost always with a stiff additional cost. In addition to traditional options—heated and ventilated front and rear seats, for instance—the Cayenne offers desirable upgrades such as more supportive seats, massaging front seats, and four-zone climate control.

2024 Audi A8: A Luxury Evolution | Features, Specs, and Design
2024 Audi A8
Starting at $89.995
Highs Seriously quiet interior, legroom to spare in the rear, lively demeanor for such a large sedan.
Lows Exterior styling might be too restrained for some, competitor’s inline-six and V-8 engines offer more personality, the S8 is far more entertaining.
Verdict With its trademark subtle style inside and out, the A8 hits all the luxury sedan benchmarks at a buy-in thousands less than its German counterparts.
Overview
A stealth fighter in a sea of high-profile full-size luxury sedans, the Audi A8’s conservative yet confident personality and style are a virtue. Interior accommodations are as spacious and comfortable as its longtime sparring partners, the BMW 7-series and the Mercedes-Benz S-class, but the appointments and control layout maintain a comparably rational design and appeal. A turbocharged V-6 is the sole engine option, and while it’s not quite as quick as the rivals, its silent operation fits its stealthy mission. Extensive sound deadening measures ensure the interior is equally as hushed, ensuring the driver and passengers arrive at their destination fresh and relaxed. But the A8 is also capable of getting a little frisky when the situation arises, carrying surprising speed through gently winding roads and even dispatching tight bends with a dexterity that belies its size. Buyers seeking sharper reflexes and quicker acceleration are advised to seek out its high-performance S8 sibling, which we review separately.
What's New for 2024?
Refreshed for 2022, the 2024 Audi A8 slips into the new year with minimal updates. All A8s receive a six-month trial subscription to Audi Connect PLUS with the Audi app store; the software enables remote start from the app and integrates music, video, gaming, navigation, parking & charging, weather, and news applications into the MMI. In the styling department, Sebring Black crystal effect paint replaces Vesuvius Gray metallic.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
A8: $89,995
If you're going with Audi's flagship luxury sedan, do it right and order it with the Comfort Plus package, which includes Dual-pane acoustic glass for side windows that reduce noise, massaging front seats, heated armrests, heated outboard rear seats, a head-up display, and HD Matrix-design LED headlights. It’s also hard to argue with the Black optic plus package that plays into the stealth factor with high gloss black exterior trim, black Audi rings and badges, black brake calipers, and unique 21-inch 10-spoke design wheels. If adaptive cruise control with lane keeping, remote parking and a heated steering wheel are on your wish list you’ll need to check the box for the Executive package.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
A turbocharged 335-horsepower V-6 augmented by a 48-volt hybrid system is the sole engine option. (The sportier S8 rocks a turbocharged V-8 rated for 563 horsepower.) An eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are standard. In our hands, the A8 dashed from zero to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds, trailing the last six-cylinder Mercedes-Benz S500 we tested by a few tenths. The Audi's engine is a smooth operator above all, thanks in part to the extensive sound-deadening measures; plus, with all 331 foot-pounds of torque available at a low 1370 rpm, you don’t need to flog the engine in normal driving to extract zippy acceleration. An adjustable air suspension and adaptive dampers are standard and, like all Audi sedans, the A8 is tuned for a brand-specific blend of athleticism and ride comfort that transcends the empirical spec sheet data.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
Copious interior space and passenger comfort is non-negotiable in the full-size luxury sedan segment, and the A8’s long wheelbase ensures that front and rear-seat passengers are well accommodated. A traditional five-passenger layout is standard, but an optional four-passenger seating package is available for well-heeled owners who plan to spend the majority of their time in the rear seat with a hired hand at the wheel. It deletes the rear center seating position and provides a pair of power-adjustable rear seats with heating, ventilation, and massage, as well as a heated foot-massage function and a pair of individual entertainment tablets. Just be aware that all that rear seat indulgence reduces the number of power adjustments for the front passenger. Likewise, the 13 cubic-foot trunk capacity is modest for a big luxury sedan.
