What happen to Keith Moon’s drum set? #who #rock #keithmoon
Keith Moon, the legendary drummer for The Who, was known for his energetic and flamboyant drumming style. The phrase "Keith Moon's exploding drums" refers to an incident that occurred during The Who's appearance on "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour" in 1967.
@RockandRollUniverse
During the performance of the song "My Generation," Moon loaded his bass drum with explosives to create a dramatic and unexpected effect. However, the explosion was more powerful than anticipated, and a piece of drum shrapnel injured Moon's leg. The incident became iconic in rock history and added to Moon's reputation for wild and unpredictable behavior both on and off the stage.

Badfinger A tragic and bitter end #shorts #badfinger #70srock
Badfinger an extremely underrated band who’s story is one of the saddest you will find. A great group with equally great songs that ended up being ruined by a very bad manager. This is the tragic and bitter story. Please check this out for the whole story. https://youtu.be/Gq32rgcu3Dc?si=ugw_lHjtvnI_-4z9
@RockandRollUniverse
This tragic story involves not one but two members of the rock group Badfinger.
The band went from being the first band to be signed to The Beatles' Apple label to a group where two members took their own lives.
They were very close to the beatles. So close that even their name came from their being friends.

What happened when KISS meet the phantom? #rock #facts #rockstar
Was KISS meets the phantom of the park hated?
Yes and no
@Rockfunfacts
What happened when the iconic rock group KISS met the phantom of the park?
Well they were joined by millions of fans excited to see the campy movie with their practically living cartoon heroes fight evil with magic and rock and roll.
"KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park" is a made-for-TV movie that premiered on NBC on October 28, 1978. It was also released under the title "KISS in Attack of the Phantoms."
I’m not sure why but it’s noted that the film was produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions, known for their animated shows like "The Flintstones" and "The Jetsons." It was one of the few live-action projects they worked on. But to me personally Hanna-Barbera was more known by me because of Scooby-doo which wasn’t mentioned and it felt like to me that the movie was kind of made to be like a Scooby-doo.
The plot revolves around a villain named Abner Devereaux, who creates animatronic duplicates of the members of KISS to cause chaos in a theme park. The real band members must stop their evil clones.
Peter Criss, the drummer of KISS, had a reduced role in the movie due to an injury he sustained during filming. His character, Catman, is absent for a significant portion of the film. It wasn’t mentioned what the injury was.

Stryper’s Micheal Sweets detached retina. Another emergency surgery #rock #facts #stryper
“I just saw the eye doctor and I have a detached retina.
@Rockfunfacts
I'll need emergency surgery (vitrectomy) on my right eye. A lot of time has passed (long story and many details) so I may or may not have normal vision restored. I'm believing that it will be and I of course welcome all the prayers I can get. My left eye (good eye) has an old retinal tear and will require laser (in office) to repair. It's susceptible to retina detachment as well. I'll be down for the count for 2 weeks (laying face down so the bubble they place in my eye can stay in place) and I'm guessing that'll be the toughest part of all this. Doctor said this is hereditary."

Learn why Marilyn Manson believes he’s a monster #rock #facts #shorts
Marilyn Manson what made him believe he is “the most horrible monster he ever could have dreamed of.”
@Rockfunfacts
Although you won’t hear Marilyn Manson say the word Demon or Devil or Satan in this story Please listen to the entire story then tell me what you think is behind what and who he is today.
Marilyn Manson said his neighbor John bullied him, also making him go down in a basement of a derelict house in the middle of the woods into a cellar with only a Bic Lighter and read incantations from the book “Necronomicon”.
He said he was fresh out of christian school and had read enough of the bible to know that what he was reading was not a good idea.
He said he believed that night was going to be the last night of his life, saying he believes that there are “Energies” in the world that should not be messed with.
He said he and his bully turned friend John both were hearing voices and he said the voice was saying things like “Do you believe in Satan?”
He said that was the most supernatural scary thing that he had ever seen.
Saying that he himself had underestimated the occult even to this day saying basically he would go back there today to try and find the book but he knows it would not be there and that he believes that's what made him the horrible monster he is today. What was the Craziest thing Gene Simmons Ever Sold?#rock #kiss #shorts
The craziest thing Gene Simmons ever sold. Keep watching!
I’ll give you a hint, it had to do with his cattle ranch.
@Rockfunfacts
Gene Simmons, best known as the co-founder and bassist of KISS.
Simmons became known for his flamboyant persona, characterized by his demon-like makeup and long tongue.
Gene Simmons has been a prominent figure in rock music for decades, with a distinctive career marked by showmanship, business acumen, and his iconic KISS persona.
Simmons and Paul Stanley formed KISS in the early 1970s, and the band gained immense fame with their elaborate costumes and theatrical live shows.
He played a key role in KISS's success, with hits like "Rock and Roll All Nite." Beyond music, he ventured into acting and entrepreneurship, amassing a diverse portfolio of businesses, from a clothing line, and the KISS Kasket, Snowboards, to his own magazine, and even a Cattle Ranch selling bull Semon, no joke.
He adopted the stage name Gene Simmons when he moved to the United States but at first he was born Chaim Witz in Israel in 1949.

Over 50 years of Christian Rock #rock #facts #80srock
The very first christian rock band I remember was actually not Stryper but Petra.
@Rockfunfacts
Petra started in the 70’s. If anyone knows of an earlier one please let us know.
Petra has some great music. I think they were just a tad bit less heavy than Stryper was in their beginnings.
I believe that these guys grabbed the attention of many musicians who really loved rock music but felt it was inappropriate to play and be a christian. This lot of people were basically “in the closet” with their love of rock and I think hearing Petra made them start to think maybe it wasn’t a mortal sin to play what they loved and at least dedicate it to their faith in God.
Petra.com shows them playing the Petra Reunion tour in a few churches all over even outside the United States I believe, so they seem to still be going strong just like Stryper.
A long read on wikipedia says Petra is an American music group regarded as a pioneer of the Christian rock and contemporary Christian music genres and was, for many years, regarded as the "world's most popular Christian rock band". Formed in 1972, the band took its name from the Greek word for "rock". Though it disbanded formally in 2006, incarnations have played reunion shows in the years since and released two albums in November 2010, and in November 2017. In 2013, it reformed with a new drummer, Cristian Borneo, and recorded a new song titled "Holy is Your Name", before going back on tour.
With Petra hurting financially and Volz announcing his departure, rumors swirled that Petra would break up.
Instead, Hartman turned to former Head East vocalist John Schlitt, whom he had met on an airplane some years before but who had since converted to Christianity and left rock music altogether. Schlitt needed little convincing. He was introduced to Petra fans at a show in Australia in February 1986
For those who may not know, on the song by Head East, never been any reason, John Shlitt was the vocalist with the high parts.
Who was first? Some say it was Larry Norman, Larry Norman, often described as the "father of Christian rock", and in his later years "the Grandfather of Christian rock" who, in 1969 recorded and released Upon This Rock, "the first commercially released Jesus rock album"
some the crusaders who in November 1966 had a Tower Records album Make a Joyful Noise with Drums and Guitars

Did you like or not like Stryper? #rock #facts #80srock #metal #shorts #short
Why would any rock band that hasn’t been involved in a serious crime be hated?
When you look at rock bands of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s , it doesn't matter, you find lots of talent to not a lot of talent, but you also find some hate with most.
The most hate I’ve seen for a band with a lot of talent has to be Stryper.
@Rockfunfacts
While their lyrics were not about sex, drugs and all that but their musicianship shouldn’t be ignored, these guys were extremely talented and still are.
They’re still touring and while some of my rock heroes can’t sing anymore, or play anymore, and some are sadly gone already these guys still sound as good as they did in the 80’s, which is amazing to me.

Why the hate? Hating On Stryper #rock #metal #80srock #rockstar
With quotes like "You're not making Christianity better, you’re making rock’n’roll worse” - Hank Hill on Christian rock.
And an actual quote By Sleazegrinder( Classic Rock )
Loudersound.com
The squares are going to church and getting haircuts, so you get pentagram tattoos and form a black metal band. That’s how youth revolt works, man. And that’s why Stryper was such a fucking bummer.
Although I temporarily lost hearing in my right ear, I and many others stood loving every note we were hearing.
The band was mostly still all original except for the bass player which had changed and now included the bass player from Firehouse. The lead singer and guitarist Micheal Sweet was hoarse when he spoke having a cold or allergy type problem but still sang and hit every extremely high note during the performance.
Micheal Sweet said during an interview that in the hay days I’m guessing especially during the Heaven and Hell tour with Motley Crue he said while performing he had been spit on so much that he had trouble holding his guitar pick.Thankfully they don’t see that kind of hate these days.
If you ever have a chance to see these guys you should take it. They’re pretty down to earth and definitely can rock!
They held bible readings backstage while their tourmates (including notorious blood-guzzlers WASP) banged groupies and gave in to chemical excess.
Only in America, man. And I mean that literally. Britain and Europe were a lot less impressed with these Jesus hairballs. And they suffered a pretty swift and rocky fall from grace after that, really. The next album was full-on glam, and tanked. The album after that was all black leather, classic metal, and no Jesus, and it tanked, too. Then the 90s hit, and they broke up. And Christian glam metal died with them. Thank Christ (ahem) for that.
Of course, that’s not really the end of the story. What Stryper really did was create a new, secondary metal market that exists right under our noses and we don’t even know it. For almost every sub-genre of heavy music there’s an inferior Christian version playing the church circuit. Christian death metal, Christian grindcore, Christian fucking black metal, man. Look it up, it’ll freak you right out. That’s Stryper’s fault, basically.
Stryper also got back together. And every right-wing politician in America mentions Reagan every chance he gets these days. It’s pretty grim. Just say to no to Jesus-metal, kids. I barely survived the 80s the first time.

Ozzy Osbourne and Motley Crue Gross-out Contest? #Rock #Facts #Rockstar
OK here’s how the story goes short version
Motley Crue were on tour with Ozzy on the Bark at the Moon tour 1984.
Ozzy says the entire tour was Drugs and Alcohol.
They start a contest to see who can be the most Gross.
One night on the tour while drinking and doing Cocaine, late that night they pull into a hotel in Florida. Ozzy sees a popsicle stick on the ground with a trail on and heading to it. To win the contest he gets down on the ground and snorts the trail of ants.
@Rockfunfacts
Next to try and win he pees on the floor, and licks it up. Nikki Sixx pees on the floor and starts to get down to lick his up when Ozzy pushes him out of the way and licks his up.
Sixx said from then on they knew that wherever they were there was always someone sicker and more gross than they were.

Billy Idol Nearly Loses Leg And Life #rock #facts #rockstar #80srock #shorts #short
Reflecting on that period in his life, Billy Idol shared, "I had to really think about my future, where I was going. It was a bit of a watershed time for me. I had to change my life, and I had to think about things. I mean, I was kind of destroying myself, really. And I had young children as well at that time. I was thinking, ‘What am I saying to them by continuing to be a drug addict and nearly having an accident that seriously hurt me and possibly could have killed me?’ … I needed to get a hold of myself. I was going to kill myself, or I was going to go crazy, or be locked up forever. The motorcycle accident was a good sign of ‘You’ve got to stop.’”
@Rockfunfacts
At the time of the accident, Billy Idol was under the influence of alcohol and "some kind of Quaalude or something
The accident had been a particularly nightmarish and painful chapter in his life. At the time, uncertainty loomed as he grappled with the potential loss of his leg or even his life.
Bitter Taste," Billy Idol's song inspired by his motorcycle accident, is the first musical composition where he explicitly addresses this life-altering event.
In the end, "Bitter Taste" became a reflection of both his personal journey and the broader challenges that people were facing during the pandemic, serving as a source of identification and empathy for his audience.

We had a lot of fun.” “I remember we did a gig in Knoxville, Tennessee, and we were driving from Knoxville, Tennessee, to Orlando, Florida, to do a gig with Foreigner,” Even now, 40 years later, Osbourne says remembering seeing a gigantic blaze. “I couldn’t understand what’s going on — it’s like I’ve been in a nightmare,” he says.
When Sharon got out of the bus, she saw the tour manager on his knees crying. She turned and saw an airplane sticking up through a house.
In the plane were 25-year-old Rhoads, 36-year-old pilot Andrew Aycock and 58-year-old hairdresser Rachel Youngblood.
“They had been on a plane and the plane had crashed,”

Lynard Skynards fateful flight
Lynyrd Skynyrd was at the height of their fame in the mid-1970s, thanks to hits like "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Free Bird." On that fateful night, the band had just performed at the Greenville Memorial Auditorium in South Carolina and was en route to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for their next show.

The Convair CV-240, a twin-engine propeller aircraft, experienced technical issues during the flight. One of the engines failed, and the plane began to lose altitude. Despite the efforts of the pilots, they couldn't maintain control.
As the plane descended, it ran out of fuel and crashed into a densely wooded area near Gillsburg, Mississippi. The impact was devastating, and the aircraft burst into flames upon impact.
Tragically, several members of the band, including lead singer Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines, and his sister, backup singer Cassie Gaines, lost their lives in the crash. Other band members and crew members suffered varying degrees of injuries.
