Tying Al's Rat
Al’s Rat is a great pattern that matches midge / Chironomid pupae. The pattern is relatively easy to tie and highly effective. It was developed on the Little Lehigh by the late Al Miller.
Hook: Allen F001 #20 (Any dry fly hook in size 20 can be used)
Thread: Brown Monochord (Rumpf)
Dubbing: Muskrat underfur
