My song about the urgency of accepting God’s love before it’s too late.

There has been no greater love shown by God than through His Son's sacrifice, the light of forgiveness cast in darkness to save all who turn in time to love Him above all and follow His ways. My music video here stresses the importance of accepting God’s love and forgiveness before the day of judgment.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." - John 3:16-17
Therefore, ask Christ to come into your heart today. Trust in and follow Him. May He be your One true hope who leads you out of peril of eternal darkness into Salvation of His light of perfect peace.
When I wrote this song in 1998, my thoughts were of discernment that entertainment, media, and mainstream culture at large were steering us toward the destruction of end times. As one who was born in 1966, I could not help but notice the decline since then to where scripture like Isaiah 5:20 would apply to the many rather than the few:
"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" - Isaiah 5:20
Nowadays, even more so, this seems to apply.
Scripture also speaks of the condition of the world before Christ returns:
"But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be." - Matthew 24:37
In this year of 2023, as both Isaiah 5:20 and Matthew 24:37 now seem to speak more than ever to the spiritual condition of the world, I feel affirmed in my 1998 sense to be ever watchful for the day of the Lord. Whether Christ comes tomorrow or to a future generation, we are in a season of time in which no one who is watchful should be surprised at His rapture of the Church. Nevertheless, whether before the rapture or before your dying breath, I urge that you not wait until tomorrow to make your heart ready by the free gift of His pure love that shall never stop giving.

Hallowed by Jeff H. Ulrich (2008, 2023) - With Excerpts of The Chosen and Passion of The Christ
Hallowed is my prayer song from between the lines of the Lord’s prayer.

In 2008, an outpouring of great meaning came to me from between the lines of the Lord's prayer.
I had opened my Bible to the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13), where Christ taught us the manner in which we should pray. I then poured out my heart to the Lord whose strength and guidance I desperately needed in support of my family.
In those private moments of prayer, I reflected on Christ's sacrifice as well as on the mercies and blessings that He granted me in years past. In the clarity of that devotion, I shed the heavy feeling of my burdens to rely on Him -- the One who extended His hand when I buckled beneath the weight of overwhelm.
Out of such a happy sense of relief in the peace that only God could bring, the words that became the lyrics to this song, titled "Hallowed" (meaning, "made holy"), flowed from my heart.
In the weeks that followed, I often sang Hallowed as I played along with my acoustic guitar. To my great delight, my daughter, who was six at the time, joined me one day with heartfelt enthusiasm. Although she was very young, apparent to me was that she found sorely needed comfort and meaning in Hallowed. She also was struggling and, therefore, in need of the peace and rest that comes only from above.
I have since held Hallowed dear as one given to encourage both me and my daughter with the assuring hope of the everlasting Comforter -- Hallowed be His name.
The Lord is indeed worthy of praise. Over the years, He has been attentive and expressive to me in such timely mysterious ways. I shudder at the thought of where I would now be if God had not been so faithful. I could never deny that, on my journey, He lovingly walked with me and extended His hand. As this song bears such personal meaning to me and my daughter, may it bring revival to your spirit. Persevere in the Lord who gives hope to those who trust in Him.

I created this presentation in loving memory of Rev. Kenneth R. Riden whose heartfelt expressions of love for America inspired me to write the music upon his request for a choral piece to accompany him in a 1987 bicentennial celebration for the United States Constitution. The large venue where he was to present was organized and sponsored by a major corporation but, suffice it to say, they ultimately cancelled the event in response to loathing of a movement that does not share such patriotic sentiment. His presentation with my song would have otherwise been part of a tribute hosted in an arena full of freedom-loving Americans.
Rev. Riden passed away in 2020. I sorely miss him and cherish precious memories of our times of fellowship. Yet, his heart for God and country endures in me.
In years leading up to his passing, he sometimes spoke with regret that the 1987 opportunity to bear his heart for America was cancelled. If my dear departed friend were still here, he would encourage us in the patriotic spirit of my song. He would rally us to hold fast to our heritage of freedom in these troubled times.
In 1739, my paternal ancestors fled persecution to find freedom in this land where they later fought in the American Revolution. Because of that great generation, many have since been born into freedom but also sacrificed for God and country to defend freedom. We owe much to them and certainly should stand up, be proud as Americans, and show the world how we can still be free in this nation founded and died for by those who made dreams of freedom come true for tired, poor, and huddled masses that yearned to breathe free.
The bell is now for us to toll. Let freedom ring!

The bitter lemon in sweet lemonade should humbly give all glory to its maker. Likewise, its maker should be so humble to give all glory to God who made possible all that would refresh the spirit as well as the body.
I was 19 in 1985 when I cried out to the Lord in the words that became the prayerful plea of my original first verse to this song. Although I firmly believed in Christ by then, I was a slave to uncertainty about my self-worth and future. I had become like a bitter lemon but with the strong sense that nothing truly good could come of me by my own means. So, I prayerfully sought meaning from Christ who had given me sight and had strengthened me to come that far. I spoke my heart to Him and wrote down His responses as I felt led by His Spirit. The lyrics to this song are of that supernatural conversation.
Many years passed before I fully realized the meaning of this song about the freedom that comes to those who call upon Christ for redemption; but I felt God at work in its conception and captured as such once I sat down at the piano and began to pour my heart into the introduction.
To be honest, I was not musically suited at the time to write for such a genre or even play the piano part. Yet, I wrote the score and filed it away for private reflection. More than 36 years later, I rediscovered the manuscript and indeed realized that the freedom for which I prayerfully yearned had since become mine; and I humbly submit to you that only God could accomplish so much in and through a lemon like me – including this song.

I pray that this song of my faith would inspire you to reach out to and believe in Christ who loves you more than anyone in this world. He would set you free and lead you to His place of real peace.

"I'll Be There" is original music of what we can all look forward to experiencing one day in Heaven. Featuring vocalist Jessie Morgan with Esther Denis.

I was 18 in 1985 when the Spirit moved me to write this song about Heaven in my reflection of what the Bible says about that everlasting paradise but also of my sense of assurance that Jesus -- the One who miraculously healed my eyes as well as once raised me from near-death upon mending my broken spirit -- is always with me and will receive me there one day with open arms for persevering and making good of the life that He has given me.
I wrote the lyrics in careful consideration of what the Bible says about Heaven. In particular, I drew from the following four verses:
"Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, 'Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.'" Then He who sat on the throne said, 'Behold, I make all things new.' And He said to me, 'Write, for these words are true and faithful.”"

The Bible elsewhere challenges our imaginations even more as to what Heaven is like. Yet, although what we do know is already difficult to fathom, what we will not know until we enter God's Kingdom in eternity is beyond our human comprehension. I, however, well understand and most appreciate what Revelation 21:4 specifically says: "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain..." Truly, that alone is going to be Heaven to me where such suffering has no place.
I pray that this song of my faith would inspire you to overcome in your life with the precious Savior who longs for us to join Him in paradise.

"Goodbye" is original music of my salvation by and devotion to Christ.
This song of real meaning, Goodbye, comes from the real place of my salvation, heartily sung by a new real friend in Christ, Hugh Wilson, who made possible this expression of inspiration to be shared with all who are in a dark place but desire to feel the sense of peace that comes only from above.

In 1984, I was moved to write this song. At 18 years old, there I sat at an old out-of-tune upright piano as I musically and lyrically poured out my heart. Suffice it to say here, I was working through bitter resentment in me over one of the biggest letdowns of my life.
Although therapeutic to write at the time, the original lyrics were of my bitter heart. I had to live and grow for years before I found meaning that inspired me to write lyrics true to this special music that, now apparent to me, was given from above.
"And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses." - Mark 11:25 (NKJV)
With revised lyrics in hand in this year of 2021, I finally sat down to record the entire orchestration as I had conceived it in 1984. Upon finally hearing its completion after 37 years, I reflected on how good to me and patient God was in that early time of my life when I was most spiritually immature and unworthy. Yet, I was then reaching for God; and I now realize all the more that He sent answers that I would come to understand upon conviction and repentance of my old spirit of unforgiveness.
As for the context of the word, "Goodbye," as used in the title and chorus of this song, Fanny Crosby was apparently in that spirit when she wrote her 1879 hymn, "Take The World, But Give Me Jesus.". In the last verse, she wrote, "Take the world, but give me Jesus. | In His cross my trust shall be, | Till, with clearer, brighter vision, Face to face my Lord I see." Like her meaning, I said my goodbye to a dark life of the world to follow the light of the world, Jesus, whom I am prepared to meet in the sky at His coming where I will clearly see His face with brighter vision.

The following Bible verse was on my heart when I wrote this song:

I created this video from photos that I took from the bank of a nearby river. After I took my first photo, a raging storm unexpectedly rushed in. Rather than retreat, I remained to take several photos of the storm clouds as they approached and then of the ensuing thunder showers and lightning all around me. As quickly as nature rained down such fury on me, however, the storm passed over and left behind an atmosphere of peace and serenity, longer lasting than the brief eerie calm that came before. So to speak, greater than sensations of peace and serenity is joy that comes in the morning to those who hope in the Lord through both storms and weeping in the night.
May this video be an encouragement and inspiration to you who are in need today of God’s comfort, strength, and guidance. He is faithful to those who believe in Him as they make their requests known to Him. Pray to Him in this spirit and wait on Him.

As someone who was born and has lived with the challenges that come with forms of blindness, I have been blessed to feel the enlightening touch of God’s unseen hand when He has reached out to direct me. To me, faith is as sight.
I shall evermore be thankful for the hyperacuity of God-given discernment that often keeps me from harm and distress. And I have come to trust that, sometimes, I must take a hit or go through something; when I have later reflected on such painful experiences, there were the eureka moments when I could see how God had worked to strengthen me for my own good.

God Is My Hope - Takes Nothing More: My Personal Anthem
In 2002, I was inspired in a prayerful time of devotion to write this song. I had just emerged from the shadow of the nethermost valley in my life. Although I had lost much, I could not have denied that I had come through that dark place due to the aid of God’s unseen hand who, as I believed in Him all the more He, had carried me. I would not have otherwise been long for this world. I wrote about that trial in chapter nine of my book, The Hope of Personal Apocalypse (http://JeffUlrichLegacies.com). If God could only hear me sing once, I would choose this song because of its message. I would want Him to hear from my own lips that "it takes no more than" Him "to make my life complete."
I duly credit the One who made me as my source of patience and strength. He has been and shall evermore be the hope of my life who gives me peace which surpasses all understanding.

What Child is This by Jeff H. Ulrich - Antique 3D Nativities by Ferdinand Pribyl (1840-1915)
The sacred #Christmas hymn, "What Child is This," with the recording of my instrumental #music arrangement and video rendering of antique 3D nativities by Ferdinand Pribyl (1840-1915).
Christmas of 2016, I was inspired by creations that were made over 100 years ago by an artist whose sacred expressions were of a unique tradition to celebrate the birth of Christ. His masterpieces then so moved me to apply music from my creative Christmas past to my rendering of panoramic photos of his 3D nativities.
May this music video inspire you to the true spirit of the season.

In 1997, I scripted and produced a Christmas play for which I instrumentally arranged the version of "What Child is This," as heard in this video, for the play's very own nativity scene.
Regarding the 3D nativities illustrated in this video, their explanation below is my summary of the description from the copyright owner's website:
In the late 1890s and early 1900s, Ferdinand Pribyl, a Czech Moravian, painted a series of nativities of immense scale, brilliant color and painstaking detail. Through four generations, Pribyl’s nativities have been passed to family members and close friends.
The Nativity scenes vary in length between 10’ and 15’, and are over 2’ in height. They are 3-dimensional in effect, with multiple cut-outs of people, animals, and landscape scenes inserted into slots on a 12” baseboard. No two scenes are alike and few individual figures are identical.
A typical feature in most of Ferdinand’s panoramas is the depiction of pastoral life on one side, with farmers and shepherds bringing their gifts of farm produce to the central manger, and city life on the other, with townspeople bringing presents of bakery products or manufactured goods.
Nativity art has a long tradition in the Czech lands and throughout Europe. In the middle ages it was used as a way to teach and demonstrate Christianity to the people. In periods when the Catholic Church was undergoing persecution and religious art was banned, the manufacture of such art became a cottage industry in many areas, and people personally commissioned scenes for display in private residences. This anchored the tradition in the local culture, as many people lent their talent to developing the art form.

Background (Wikipedia) ...
This hymn was originally penned by hymnist Horatio Spafford and was composed by Philip Bliss. First published in Gospel Songs No. 2 by Ira Sankey and Bliss (1876), it is possibly the most influential and enduring in the Bliss repertoire and is often taken as a choral model, appearing in hymnals of a wide variety of Christian fellowships.
The hymn was written after traumatic events in Spafford's life. The first was the death of his son at the age of two and the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, which ruined him financially (he had been a successful lawyer and had invested significantly in property in the area of Chicago that was extensively damaged by the great fire). His business interests were further hit by the economic downturn of 1873, at which time he had planned to travel to Europe with his family on the SS Ville du Havre. In a late change of plan, he sent the family ahead while he was delayed on business concerning zoning problems following the Great Chicago Fire. While crossing the Atlantic Ocean, the ship sank rapidly after a collision with a sea vessel, the Loch Earn, and all four of Spafford's daughters died. His wife Anna survived and sent him the now famous telegram, "Saved alone …". Shortly afterwards, as Spafford traveled to meet his grieving wife, he was inspired to write these words as his ship passed near where his daughters had died. Bliss called his tune Ville du Havre, from the name of the stricken vessel.
The Spaffords later had three more children. On February 11, 1880, their son, Horatio Goertner Spafford, died at the age of four, of scarlet fever. Their Presbyterian church regarded their tragedy as divine punishment. In response, the Spaffords formed their own Messianic sect, dubbed "the Overcomers" by American press. Their daughters were Bertha Hedges Spafford (born March 24, 1878) and Grace Spafford (born January 18, 1881). In 1881, the Spaffords, including baby Bertha and newborn Grace, set sail for Ottoman-Turkish Palestine. The Spaffords settled in Jerusalem and helped found a group called the American Colony. Colony members, later joined by Swedish Christians, engaged in philanthropic work among the people of Jerusalem regardless of their religious affiliation and without proselytizing motives—thereby gaining the trust of the local Muslim, Jewish, and Christian communities. During and immediately after World War I, the American Colony played a critical role in supporting these communities through the great suffering and deprivations by running soup kitchens, hospitals, orphanages and other charitable ventures. The colony later became the subject of Jerusalem by the Nobel prize-winning author, Swedish novelist Selma Lagerlöf
