Passionate Gen Z Educator Vows to Combat Human and Sex Trafficking | Anita Chen
From English-as-a-Second-Language learner a national speech competition champion, Anita Chen's journey is full of inspiring stories. Her passion for English eventually led her to become an educator. Now, she is running for a congressional seat and tirelessly advocating for the victims of human and sex trafficking.
We also discuss the Sound of Freedom movie and its implications and wake up call and awareness of child sex trafficking.
"It's far more prevalent than most of us imagine. When we think of child sex trafficking, most of us picture a poor Guatemalan girl sold by her family to a brothel... But the reality is that the vast majority of child sex trafficking cases in the United States involve American youth. That means youth who are born in the United States or are here legally," said Anita Chen.
Today, she will explain why human trafficking is not what you think and what impacts it has on the younger generation.

How Real Is the Threat of AI Replacing Humans?
With artificial intelligence (#AI) these days being inserted into anything, from a PDF file to a toothbrush to a death calculator, the development of this relatively new #technology taking the world by storm is going at full speed and is being fueled by companies like #Nvidia and #AMD in Silicon Valley. Yet regulation and control are completely out of sync with the speed of development, and this has become a major concern.
“This is the risk that we see. And those are the flashlights or the flash points we see about the super AI when they start making decisions without going back to us. The fear here is—and this is actually mentioned in so many of the hearings in the Congress—that the AI will create its own AI, the human is not involved in that cycle. That is the fear, that is the beginning of the super AI,” said Ahmed Banafa.
Today we sit down with Mr. Banafa, professor of engineering at #SanJoseStateUniversity and expert in AI and #cybersecurity. He is an award-winning author and was named No. 1 voice on AI by #LinkedIn in 2024. He has been interviewed by major media on this topic.
Besides regulations, Mr. Banafa will also talk about the hidden threat of AI and what needs to be done to minimize the negative impacts.

Former Union Boss on Oakland’s Decline and How to Turn It Around
As a former union boss, Seneca Scott was involved in deciding who would be elected “for the people”. “I was a hired gun ... Now I am organizing for my family, for my neighbors, for the elders who are scared to walk down the street.”
“Oakland is going backwards ... Our policies have created an emergent apocalypse, a modern-day hellscape ... We have no choice. If we want to live in Oakland, I have to fight,” said Mr. Scott, a community activist and founder of Neighbors Together Oakland. According to Mr. Scott, the corruption in the city is deep-rooted and institutional. He said the “phony” progressives and the “spineless” business people have all contributed to the problem.
Today, he takes a deep dive into the issues that contributed to the decline of Oakland and how it can be turned around from the root.
