New cease-fire and hostage negotiations have resumed hoping to make progress towards peace as the Israeli- Hamas war reaches its six month mark.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces suffered defeat and deaths of soldiers in Donetsk. The Russian Defence Ministry said over 500 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in just one day in the fiercely fought region. Ukraine also lost a U.S.-made M113 armoured personnel carrier, as well as 27 vehicles. Meanwhile, the Russian Defence Minister announced Ukraine's losses since the start of 2024. Sergey Shoigu said that Ukraine has lost more than 80,000 troops and more than 14,000 units of military hardware since January.

Hours after Russian President Putin condemned radical Islamists for the recent terror attack in Moscow, the Islamic State in Khorasan Province (IS-K) released a statement in Pashto praising the attack without claiming responsibility. Instead, the statement focused on criticizing the Taliban in Afghanistan. Titled "After Moscow's Attack: The Sorrow & Fear of Militias," the IS-K statement referred to Afghan Taliban as allies of the US, Russia, China, Pakistan, and Tajikistan, condemning them for embracing the values of "infidel" countries. In response, the Taliban denounced the Moscow attack as a violation of human standards. The IS-K statement also made a veiled reference to Russian bombings in Syria, questioning Russia's right to destroy mosques, homes, and towns through indiscriminate bombing. While the primary ISIS group took credit for the Moscow attack, IS-K's statement adds complexity to the situation, indicating its alignment with extremist ideologies.

Ukraine has begun using a new kind of bomb donated by France to wreck Russian bases near the Dnipro River in the south of the country. AASM ‘Hammer’ is a precision guided bomb that has been adapted to be used on Ukrainian MiG jets, and can drop a warhead of up to 1 ton within 3ft of a target, with a range of up to 45 miles. Video shows just how destructive these warheads are, as they demolished Russian bases hidden inside large buildings with apparent ease. Two were so badly hit that nothing but rubble remained afterwards. A third was also hit, but damage was inconclusive. The AASM is Ukraine’s answer to the Russian FAB glide bombs that are being used in increasingly large numbers to demolish Ukrainian defences and proved pivotal in Putin’s armies seizing the city of Avdiivka last month

A Pentagon watchdog report has made shocking claims about U.S. Navy aid sent to Ukraine. The report revealed that the U.S. navy overspent hundreds of millions of dollars on Ukraine aid. The U.S. Department of Defence Office of Inspector General released the report on March 28. Earlier, a similar report revealed that $1 billion of military aid to Ukraine couldn’t be accounted for.
