Mr. Nesbitt may have had Irish ancestry, or perhaps Mrs. Nesbitt simply liked it... The Bengal housecat is a popular breed for cat-lovers, and is the basis for how I see the gricka. The two Bengals referenced early on would have had a number of advantages in size and aptitude over many of the others, and thus would have (in my opinion) had a greater number of descendants.
