This weekend we decided to add stone to the fireplace. The method is fairly simple, beginning with shoving a piece of plywood into the opening to create an arch, mixing mortar, and setting the stones. All in all, we are THRILLED with how this turned out! There's a little more to do with adding stone to give it all an even shape, but, we're closer than ever to seeing this finished. We are finally to the point of taking down the plywood roofing and replacing it with our pine lumber.
