On 5/26/24 at approximately 12:13 AM, the San Diego Police Department responded to reports of a car accident in the 3000 block of Webster Ave in the Logan Heights neighborhood of San Diego. Upon arrival, they encountered a two-vehicle collision hitting several parked cars. The driver of the red vehicle took off leaving his unconscious passenger alone in the car. Two people were transported to area hospitals in unknown condition. The driver of the white vehicle was evaluated but not transported. He stayed and cooperated with the police. SDPD is Investigating.

DUI Vehicle into a Ditch
On 5/25/24 at approximately 9:58 PM, California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a car accident on SR-94 Eastbound at Massachusetts Ave. in Lemon Grove. Upon arrival, they encountered a single-vehicle crash through the guardrail and came to rest in a ditch. There were two occupants neither of which was transported by ambulance. The driver was tested and arrested on suspicion of DUI. CHP Investigating.

Hit & Run Expanded Accident
On 5/7/24 at approximately 9:58 PM, Chula Vista Police & Fire responded to reports of a car accident on Oxford & Hilltop. Upon arrival, they found a two-vehicle accident, with one car going through a small retaining wall and fence. It also took out a Cox Cable line and it was hanging in the street. One person needed to be rescued and was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries per CVPD. Two others were transported with minor injuries. An adult male driver fled on foot and has not been located at this time. Oxford from Tobias to Hilltop is closed until Cox can handle the cables. CVPD is investigating.

Young Child Sustains Major Injuries in Accident
CVPD UPDATE:On May 7th, 2024, at approximately 11:43 pm, the Chula Vista Police Department received several calls regarding a two-vehicle traffic collision in the intersection of East Palomar Street and Brandywine Avenue in Chula Vista. Police personnel arrived on scene and discovered the victim, a 3-year-old female was unresponsive. Police and Fire personnel rendered first aid to the child at the scene. Fire personnel transported the child to a trauma center, where they remain in critical condition. The driver remained on scene and after investigation was placed under arrest for DUI related offenses and child endangerment. The second vehicle involved had three female Chula Vista occupants (ages 42, 60 and 69) transported to a local hospital with complaint of pain. The Chula Vista Police Traffic Bureau was called to the scene to investigate the collision.
The driver arrested was 26-year-old female, Ayneisha Bryant Frazier. The names of the victims involved are being withheld for their respective privacy. The cause of the collision has not yet been determined. The Chula Vista Police Traffic Bureau is currently investigating the collision. On 5/7/24 at approximately 11:44 PM, Chula Vista Police & Fire responded to reports of a car accident on E Palomar & Brandywine Ave. Upon arrival, they found a two-vehicle accident, with one car leaving the roadway and going up an embankment. Two were transported to local hospitals. One with minor injuries and the other a three-year old child was taken with major injuries per a CVPD Sergeant. According to scanner traffic the car seat was not installed properly and the child was ejected to the front seat from the back of the car. The mother of the child was taken into custody for non-compliance with officers during a field sobriety test. CVPD is handling the investigation.

Person Trapped in Rollover
On 5/5/24 at approximately 3:04 AM, San Diego Fire Department responded to a car accident on the Southbound 5 at the Port of Entry. Upon arrival, they encountered a dark SUV that had rolled on its side. The driver was trapped and the call was updated to a rescue. It took approximately 45 minutes to get the man free. He was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition. CHP is Investigating.

Missing Driver Rollover
On 5/5/24 at approximately 2:04 AM, San Diego Sheriff’s Department responded to a vehicle accident call in the 9400 Block of Lemon Ave in the Casa de Oro neighborhood of San Diego. Upon arrival, they found an unoccupied SUV that had rolled on its side. The music in the car was still playing and the windshield wipers still on. They searched the surrounding area and did not find a driver. It was determined the area was CHP jurisdiction and they took over the investigation.

Serious Injury Accident
On 5/6/24 at approximately 9:17 PM, San Diego Fire Department responded to a car accident call on the 5000 block of El Cajon Blvd in the Talmadge neighborhood of San Diego. Upon arrival, they encountered a male who was hit by a car while crossing the street. The victim was taken to a local trauma center with a serious head injury. The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with SDPD in the investigation.

Fire on Freeway Embankment
On 5/7/24 at approximately 12:01 AM, San Diego Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at the Northbound 15 Freeway. Upon arrival, they encountered a small transient encampment fire that was difficult to get to. They were able to put ladders over the wall and put out the fire quickly. No injuries reported.

Two Injured in Shooting
On 5/4/24 at approximately 10:35 PM, San Diego Police Department responded to a shooting call on L Street in the Stockton Neighborhood of San Diego. Upon arrival, they found two victims a male and a female with gunshot wounds. The female had at least one wound to her torso and the other in his leg. Both victims were taken to a local hospital for their injuries. The suspects took off in an unknown direction. According to the SDPD watch commander, they are looking for a black sedan in connection with the shooting. SDPD is handling the investigation.

Fire in Unoccupied Aztec Appliance Building
On 5/4/24 at approximately 11:33 PM, San Diego Police Department responded to calls of a fire at 640 16th in East Village. Upon arrival, they found a fire had been started in the unoccupied Aztec Appliance Store. There have been multiple fires started by transients inside this building in the last few years. There was no one inside by the time entry was made. The firefighters had the fire out quickly and there were no injuries reported. The Metro Arson Strike Team (MAST) will be investigating.

Driver Runs After Hitting a Semi
On 4/22/24 at approximately 12:20 AM, California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a crash on the southbound I-805 at the Sweetwater Rd offramp. Upon arrival, they encountered a silver sedan that had rear-ended a semi-truck carrying an excavator. The suspect driver then took off on foot in an unknown direction. The semi-truck driver reported no injuries, stayed on the scene, and cooperated with CHP. Sweetwater Rd exit is closed for the CHP investigation.

Truck Catches Fire After Crash
On 4/21/24 at approximately 10:37 PM, Chula Vista Police and Fire responded to the 1200 block of Hilltop Dr near E.Oxford St. Upon their arrival, they found a black Kia Sedan that had crashed into two parked vehicles. A Truck that was hit caught fire making it hard for the occupant to get out of the vehicle. The call was upgraded as a result. The driver was taken to a local trauma center with serious injuries according to the Chula Vista Fire Battalion Chief. No other injuries were reported. It is unknown if DUI played a factor in the crash. CVPD will be investigating.

Young Child Assaulted by Prowler
On 4/18/24 at approximately 2:07 AM, San Diego Police Department responded to a hot prowl call on Wellington St. in Linda Vista. Upon their arrival, they learned a male had entered the home through an unlocked side door and assaulted a 5-year-old child. The child was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital. Police and K-9 Officers extensively searched the area and were able to track the suspects' scent to a trashcan on nearby Linda Vista Road. There the suspect discarded a shirt and took off in an unknown direction. The suspect is still outstanding and described as a Hispanic male in his 20-30’s approximately 5’8 wearing a dark jacket and pants. If you have any information please call SDPD immediately. Pedestrian Seriously Injured by Kia
On 4/14/24 at approximately 10:42 PM, Chula Vista Police Department responded to reports of a crash at Orange Ave and Albany Ave. Upon their arrival, they found a Kia SUV that had hit a male. The male was transported to a local hospital in serious condition per CVPD. Orange Ave from Banner Ave to Connolly Ave is closed for the investigation. Case of the Missing Driver
On 4/14/24 at approximately 2:57 AM, California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a crash called in by a tow truck driver on SR-54 westbound at the 805. Upon their arrival, they found a small work truck down an embankment. The back window was kicked out and the driver was not in the vehicle. A thorough search of the area showed that the driver had fled the scene. CHP is Investigating.

Pedestrian Fatally Hit on Freeway
On 4/13/24 at approximately 9:20 PM, California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a crash on I-8 westbound just before 2nd Street in El Cajon. Upon their arrival, they found a black Mazda had hit a pedestrian in the middle lane. The person was unfortunately pronounced deceased on scene. The driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with officers. Traffic was diverted to the Greenfield exit until the freeway was reopened at approximately 11:40 PM. Woman Trapped after Crash
On 4/14/24 at approximately 1:45 AM, San Diego Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of a crash in Spring Valley at Cardiff & Jamacha Rd. Upon their arrival, they found a two-car collision with one vehicle on its side. The driver was trapped inside the car and was rescued by the combined efforts of San Miguel and Heartland Fire Rescue agencies. She was taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries. Bronco Crashes & Catches Fire
On 4/14/24 at approximately 2:26 AM, California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a crash on the 125 northbound just after Jamacha Blvd exit. Upon their arrival, they found a solo Ford Bronco had caught fire after it crashed through the center guardrail. Several vehicles pulled over to help. No one was transported by ambulance to the hospital from the scene. There was some confusion on who was actually driving the vehicle, CHP Investigating.

Overturned SUV Stops Traffic
On 4/11/24 at approximately 1:07 AM, California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a crash on the I-5 southbound near Palomar Ave in Chula Vista. Upon arrival, they found a two-vehicle collision with a Kia SUV on its side. There were a total of six people involved, two refused medical aid and the other four were uninjured. However, the freeway was completely stopped for approximately 45 min to remove the overturned vehicle. Unknown if DUI was a factor. CHP is investigating.

Transient Suffers Major Injuries after being Struck
On 4/10/24 at approximately 10:43 PM, San Diego Police Department responded to reports of a car accident on Washington Street near the SR-163 onramp in Hillcrest. Upon their arrival, they found a black sedan that had hit a transient in the center median. According to the driver, the male stepped off the median into his lane where he then hit the man. The victim was taken to a local hospital with major injuries. The driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with police. DUI is not suspected. SDPD is investigating.

Hit & Run on a Hydrant
On 4/7/24 at approximately 10:24 PM, San Diego Police & Fire Departments responded to reports of a car accident near Euclid & University in City Heights. Upon their arrival, they a hydrant had been hit and was shooting water over 100 ft in the air. It took approximately 40 min to get the water turned off. The suspect was last seen driving south on Euclid. He was located a short time later and taken into custody on suspicion of DUI. SDPD is investigating.
