Do you know a Ham Radio Band Policeman? I have four reasons why YOU should NOT be a Band Policeman. Of course, it's a Self Appointed role, so you don't need to apply. But you will need to know the Rules, Regulations and Qualifications required. Enjoy! Callum M0MCX.

World Radio Club check in...?
Aug 16, 2015 • Ever heard of The World Radio Club? Me either, I was running through the LSB channels on my Cobra 148 GTL and on channel 39 LSB I hear the "The World Radio Club Check in" going on . I called CQ and talked to the Operator, "2WR267 Scott, Hudson, Colorado" aka World Radio #267. (I am in Kansas "06 Kansas" aka "KE0EYH") As soon as I got conformation the operator was indeed in Colorado, I politely back out and let them continue with their check in's. How's that for exciting radio communication... Here's their website http://twrc.us/

Clip from GMRSLive Sponsored National Net from 16 May 2021.
The Below text is from the GMRSLive Facebook Group:
(Link - https://www.facebook.com/groups/gmrslive)
GMRS Live is a RADIO Linking Project. We encourage all of our users to link in, be it repeaters, simplex nodes or radio nodes. Building a node is not that hard and many people have the talent to do it. There is also a few people that build nodes for others. Just please educate yourself before purchasing.
We just finished the Southwest Michigan Radio Network Check In Net on the GMRS Live 411 HUB. Every week it grows. There was 41 users that checked in from all across this great country. These are all RF connections. All GMRS licensed users like yourself.. A few ladies and children, It's a family thing.
Tuesday will be the T-N-T (Tuesday Night Tech) on the 411. Great place to discuss radio issues. This week it is about the different type of connectors for coax.
That said we like to talk ALL things GMRS Radios. If you are having issues with your radio or want information about the network just ask. Somebody is bound to help you. No question is to 'dumb'. We all started out sometime.
The GMRS Live Moderators monitor this Facebook feed also and are around to help.
So if you don't have a node or radio, think about getting one and joining us on the air!
We Appreciate each and every member of this group. You are what makes this a great hobby and we are glad your here.

GmrsLive Tech Tuesday National Net 20 April 2021
GMRS Live "Tech Tuesday" National Net, recorded on 20 April 2021. gmrslive is a linking network of GMRS users and repeaters linked through the internet using Asterisk on a Raspberry Pi. Great group of guys here and the best part is you are FREE to use your nodes/hubs anyway you want to. All volunteers willing to help you get set up and going. Check out their website at gmrslive.com and search Facebook for their group under the same name.
..............................
GMRS Live is a open system. What does this mean?
We do not
...decide who you can connect to.
...decide what equipment you use.
...contact other sites users trying to get them to join us.
...'hijack' conversations, (we are users just like you).
-
We have
...99.9% uptime on a National Data Center.
...a Clean Family atmosphere.
...Friendly users and staff ready to help.
...National 'HUBS for users and the ability to create your own.
...the ability to change from one HUB to another.
-
You can
...Create your own 'HUB'.
...Have as many nodes as you wish (5 to start)
...Create your own network of repeaters or hubs.
... Have control over your nodes and hubs.

GMRS Live is a means to connect. We are not sellers of equipment nor do we officially offer support for the connection or setup of equipment. It is not our intention or place to tell you how to do things. We provide the technical services so users can connect.
Users are encourage to experiment and communicate with other users on the different types of connection methods available (radio, radioless, repeater, simplex...). Many of our users have built there own nodes and are willing to help and or make nodes. That is totally up to you. You must (like anything on the internet) take caution and research what is offered before continuing. If there is a connection issue by all means contact us. If you have a issue with installation or setup that you (and if someone is assisting you) can't seem to figure out then we will try to help.
The GMRS Live team members are not professional programmers. We are users that like tinkering just like you. We do not know everything and learn new stuff everyday. There are currently 4 'Team' members each with different strong points and full time jobs willing to help whenever they can. Sometimes the response may be a little slow but please be patient.
GMRS Live provides a number of 'HUBS' for users to go to talk. These hubs are owned and hosted by GMRS Live. We have a certain code of conduct we expect every user to follow while using our hubs. We encourage any and all users that wants a hub, to create one for there family and or friends use. The way that hub is run (or controlled) is totally up to the person that owns it. GMRS Live doesn't monitor these hubs and does not make policy on there use. They can remain private or can be open, your choice.

LeRay (AB0PV) - "No Coders and Cracker Jack Generals"
I love these guys!! LeRay, you're the man !!
You too JR !!
I am KE0EYH, and I listen to these guys on 7.218 as much as I can. I played this video for my Wife Jan KE0FEQ and she liked it as much as I did! It's posted on the Clay Center Ham Clubs Facebook page at
www.fb.ks0cly.com or Clubs website at www.ks0cly.com
Check it out to see more pictures of this radio and to learn more about our local Ham Radio Club
(About this radio) The radio I am using in this video is a Kenwood TS 130S that was given to me. It had been unloved, abused, and left behind. When I got it 3 days ago it would receive ok but transmit power would drop off to under 10 watts on all but 20 & 40 meters, and the volume wouldn't turn down.
I downloaded the service and owners manuals. Searched the internet for known transmit power problems. It was disappointing that there wasn't more info available...
I took it apart, cleaned, and re-seated every electrical connector I could find. That fixed the volume issue!
After reading a lot of articles and posts about this radio I stumbled across a post where someone had bought an identical radio that had been set up for QRP and he wanted to turn the transmit power back up. In the post it mentioned 3 pots (Variable Resistors) under the top cover that would adjust the output power.
I searched the manual and sure enough those pots are shown with a description of adjusting them for output. I marked there original location with a sharpie and gently turned them. 1 was for 10 meters and another one was for all the other bands. It worked, and so far this old radio hasn't dropped in power !!
I also replaced the meter and dial lights. Oh and Shawn Stewart (KC0TQZ) was kind enough to lend me a knob for the VFO (thank you Shawn!). I had to makeshift a way to secure the power wires to the chassis, and repair the fan connector on the back of the radio. Special thanks to Dave Every (KD7QAS) for helping me wire up a cobra mic for this Kenwood TS-130S
