Getting Caught Up | Tricia McLaughlin episode
Political strategist and former press secretary for the Vivek Ramaswamy presidential campaign Tricia McLaughlin discusses the state of the 2024 presidential race, who Donald Trump might choose as a running mate, the RFK Jr factor, and some of the Biden campaign strategies. Tricia talks about how she was the first campaign staffer hired by Ramaswamy before he even officially launched his campaign and what it was like working out the candidate's basement at first and eventually becoming one of his senior advisers. Within about eight months, Ramaswamy was at the middle podium for the first Republican debate due to his campaign's momentum and how well he was polling among the rest of the field. Tricia also touches on some of the work she did at the State Department as a political appointee in the Trump administration as well as her newly-launched political communications firm called Insurgent Strategies.

Getting Caught Up | Don Levy episode
Dr. Don Levy, the director of the Siena College Research Institute, essentially the head of public opinion polling at Siena College in New York, discussed a bombshell poll that was released one year ahead of the 2024 presidential election and showed that Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden in 5 of 6 key swing states that Biden carried in 2020. Not surprisingly the poll has sent shockwaves through the political world. There was one particular question that stuck out as unusual in the poll -- and indeed, Levy revealed it was the first time his team had ever asked this question in a political poll. He said it was a variation of an old concept talked about by Ronald Reagan. He also touched on how and why RFK Jr had such a strong showing in the poll, particularly with younger voters.

Getting Caught Up | Jeff Wise episode

It's the greatest aviation mystery in the history of the world and journalist Jeff Wise has been covering the story since the beginning, when the Malaysian Airlines flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing mysteriously disappeared on March 8, 2014. Wise is one of the central figures in the Netflix documentary, MH370: The Plane That Disappeared, and is one of the world's foremost experts on the topic.
