How To Become a Car Key Dealer For Beginners: Programming & Cutting [In 2021].
Become a Car Key Programmer in your local area. In this video you'll learn how when you CAN program keys, and when you CANNOT program keys.
If you live in the States you may qualify for financing options. Which means you can afford all the necessary equipment required to get setup. This video I use the: Autel MaxiIM IM508 Key Programming and Diagnostic Tool + XP005 + Key Tool Max & XP400 PRO Kit.
There is financing available starting at $96 per month. Which means you would have to make at least 38 payments or more. But if you made one successful sale per month charging $300, you would still profit $200 a month and be able to cover your financing bill. See terms and conditions for this kit setup.
Another option you have as a beginner to start up your own business and make your own income.

2011 KIA Sorento Wheel Speed Sensor Repair Video: https://youtu.be/dNiGOK3T-ho
----------------------------------------
I recently replaced the wheel speed sensor with a cheap part from Amazon. Made in China. Everything was fine until 1 - 2 months later. My traction control and ABS lights came back on.
Now I have to redo this job which will take about 3 - 5 hours.
The Amazon part: $40
OEM at the dealer: $400
Although more expensive, it's worth it to get OEM for the next repair.

Quick Lube Shop Scams / Transmission Flushes.
If you're thinking of going to a quick lube shop soon, here's something to consider.
During service, techs may show you a computer to recommend additional services.
These extra services are usually scams and will cost you more down the road.
For instance, many quick lube shops will offer transmission flushes. They'll claim your vehicle has high mileage and needs a transmission flush so you can drive your vehicle safely.
Problem is, these shops only carry Universal Transmission Fluid. They don't have the right blend for your vehicle. This can lead to all sorts of problem and faster wear of your transmission.
So next time you go in, decide to decline any additional services. Just going in for your regular oil change is good enough.
Then once you're done, you can check in your owner's manual what types of fluids your car takes for your transmission (or other gearboxes).
If you can't find that information, your dealership can help you out.
Then make sure to make an appointment with the shop or person who will have the correct fluid specifications for your vehicle.

Quick Lube Shop Scams / Engine Flushes.
If you're thinking of going to a quick lube shop soon, here's something to consider.
During service, techs may show you your engine oil cap and recommend an engine oil flush.
If you hear this, it's 100% a scam.
No tech or mechanic should ever recommend an engine oil flush to get rid of creamy substances under your engine oil cap. They are only going to rip you off thinking you don't know any better.
The story might change from shop to shop, but they'll try to sell you something by showing you your cap. This should make you pay close attention to what they are saying.
So now you know what to do next time you run into this issue.
You can check your coolant temperature in front of them to verify what they are saying is true.
And pass on the engine flush 100% of the time, as that won't fix this issue or a blown head gasket.
Just say you'll have your regular oil change and carry on with your day.

Will Gasket Sealer Fix Spongy Brake Pedals?
This method is useful for when you notice soft brake pedals, but no leaks within your brake system.
Or you may have just bled your brakes recently / installed a new brake caliper, but still notice spongy brake pedals.
If this is the case for you, there is a solution which may work as a complete repair.
5 months ago I used gasket sealer to fix a leaky brake caliper issue. As the brand new refurbished caliper would constantly leak air bubbles as I bled the brakes; even with the bleeder screw closed!
Now I'm testing how well things have turned out since I've used gasket sealer to pinch off the leaky bleeder screw.

*This is a last resort repair option:*

----------------------------------------
*The Results*
Since then, the brake caliper has done a good job of braking. After 5 months there has been no signs of spongy brake pedal, and the stopping power of the brakes are still firm and solid.
However, I ran into the same problem again when I changed out another caliper on the other side today.
The 2nd newly refurbished brake caliper started to leak air bubbles again.
So I used the same method as before 5 months ago and pinched off the bleeder screw once again.
*Caution - This is a Last Resort method.* If you've already tried to repair your leaky brake issue and nothing else has worked, then this option may work for you.
Watch the video and see how well the results turned up the 2nd time I had to use gasket sealer to fix a spongy brake pedal:

Fix Spongy Brake Pedal: Quick Tip If Nothing Works.
*This is a last resort repair option*
If you've recently done a brake bleed/flush, but nothing you do fixes a spongy pedal, watch this video.
Recently, I replaced my old front brake caliper due to a leaky bleeder screw. However, the brand new caliper I just bought was having the exact same issues.
I spent 2 days and $50 on two brake fluid bottles to resolve a leaky brake system. However, nothing was working.
I didn't want to do more labor and remove the newly bought caliper to do an exchange at the store. So I just put in gasket sealer inside the bleeder threads to fix the issue. All you need to do is put a small amount around the top part of the bleeder screw (not all the way inside the system).
It's been over 5 months and brakes are working fine; still good braking power.
So if nothings working for you, this may help you.
But a better solution may have been to use an extra matching bleeder screw; which you can ask your parts store if they have some available.

Canadian Tire Automotive Service: Review | Your Friendly-Neighborhood Scammers
*I've been doing business with Canadian Tire over 10 years, easy.* I mostly buy parts and hardware from their store, and from time to time I would use their auto service. Usually I would just get my alignments done at the shop.
However, after going for an alignment yesterday, I was told I couldn't get it done. I was told that many suspension components were worn out and broken; making alignment impossible.
Instead of paying for the alignment, I ended up paying *$57* for the bogus inspection. And on top of that, Canadian Tire was trying to get me to pay at least *$1,800* in auto repairs before they would do the alignment.
When I went home to check out their claims, I found *6 out of 7 claims to be complete bogus.*
So I complained to the manager. I was told if the shop indeed made an incorrect diagnosis, I would only be refunded my money in full.
I told the manager I've been doing business with them for over 10 years, and now they pull a scam on me? I said they need to offer me more than just a refund. That's gas, and more time I have to spend to go back to correct their mistakes.
The manager refused to make a better deal.
So I said, *"No deal."*
Now you know how Canadian Tire treats you after doing 10 years of business with them. So there's my review of this so called "Local Establishment." They are nothing but crooks, and I wont ever use their Automotive Service Center again.
From now on I'm going to get my alignments done at other independent shops. Will also stop shopping for tires at Canadian Tire Auto as well.
With this bitter experience, I think I'll slowly move to other stores for my hardware as well.

Proof [UPDATE]: Canadian Tire Auto Scam
Last video I show how Canadian Tire Auto scammed me at the shop. I had to pay $57 to get my car back from them to tell me they couldn't do an alignment.
8 days later, I got my alignment done at another shop. Not only did they charge me less than what Canadian Tire charges, but they got the job done without any hassle!
In the end we see that: many of the suspension components Canadian Tire claimed, were at play or faulty was a misdiagnosis. Indeed, they were only trying to scam me out of more money to do more than one easy alignment.
Here is the follow up PROOF video.
Also will stop shopping for tires at Canadian Tire Auto as well.

How To Become A Mechanic With No Experience Or Schooling
Bonus Material 100% FREE: https://bit.ly/mechanicsecrettool
Learn how to become a mechanic when you have no work experience or schooling. In this video you'll learn that if you don't have experience, you can create the experience you need for yourself. Once you've done these 3 things mentioned in this video, you'll be ready to approach any employer and share your story. These methods will have employers interested in you to a higher degree.
I created this video because I watched Scotty Kilmer, Chris Fix, Lets Drift Media, and the Mechanic OC. They had good general information, but they all lacked more in depth explanations as to start out as a complete beginner.
Just to note, using this approach may not land you into dealerships immediately, but your chances of getting into lube shops is almost assured knowing these things. This route will save you money on tuition and you build your skills while working entry level jobs. Then you can move up slowly to enter dealerships or independent shops while building your resume.
While I do show you here that you can get into the automotive field without school, there are certain instances where I recommend college.
If enroll in community college and pay for a 4 month tuition course, that would be fine. Usually tuition for that is around $3,000 or less and you can apply for scholarships or grants that will pay off your course no problem. And you get certified at the end of successful completion with enough knowledge to enter the automotive field. This is a good option. Not the best, but good.
The best time to go to college is when you are already working for an employer in a shop. Usually a year or two later if the employer likes you, he will offer to sign you up for apprenticeship. This means now you can go back to school and sign up for apprenticeship under your employer's offer. And since they offered to sign you up, that means in most cases they will pay for all or some of your tuition training. Then this is the best time to go to college.
The worst time to go to college, and I recommend you stay completely AWAY FROM, is those 1 year, 2 year, 3 year, 4 year automotive programs. Those college courses will cost you up in the $30,000 and up just to enroll. And say goodbye to any scholarship really helping you out to cover your college tuition. Maybe you might score a $15,000 scholarship.
But then you're competing with straight A students in your college and people who've done community work who qualify. Good luck getting those scholarships. There are maybe only 1 or 2 of them anyways. And say hello to a big fat loan that will follow and haunt you for a long time in your life.
So all in all, it is still possible to get into the automotive field without any college whatsoever. But it will take a bit longer to move up. At least you can get into a lube shop and start there. You will learn lots from there anyhow.
Build up your skills and your resume working at a lube shop so you can gain credibility to enter an independent shop or dealer. You might have to be at a lube shop for at least a year before moving up.
